Chapter 502: That man is named Bo Leng, Prince Bo!1
As Si Mingjing’s dance reached its climax, eight giant dragons suddenly spiraled in the sky. They emitted roars that shocked the heavens and earth, their presence awe-inspiring.
When Ye Siyuan looked up again, Si Lisao, who had stood less than five meters in front of her, had vanished without a trace.
"Holy shit! Eight True Dragons!" Ye Shen exclaimed, wide-eyed with amazement.
Ye Siyuan recognized one of the Golden Dragons. "That’s Crown Prince Lisao!" she said excitedly.
"How do you know?" Ye Shen asked.
"None of your business! I just know!"
Ye Siyuan stood tall, her eyes filled with admiration and her face proud. Through the eyes of love, all is beautiful, and to her, the Golden Dragon seemed the most magnificent.
Ye Shen stroked his chin. "What’s this about?"
"I don’t know. Probably a part of some blessing ceremony," she guessed.
No sooner had she finished speaking than countless people of the Mu Continent suddenly prostrated themselves, devoutly worshipping the Statue of the Holy Maiden.
Ye Siyuan and Ye Shen did not join in prostrating. Standing there, they seemed very conspicuous, but as foreign guests, nobody criticized them.
"It’s too conspicuous, Second Sister," Ye Shen suggested. "Shall we crouch down?"
"No! I want to stand in the most conspicuous place so Crown Prince Lisao can see me. Besides, we’re the most noble Princess and Prince of Atlantis. Our every move represents Atlantis. This is a live broadcast; if the cameras catch us kneeling, we’d be crucified by our people back home!"
Though Ye Siyuan was smitten, she never forgot her identity.
Ye Shen immediately stood straight, poised and proud. "Second Sister, you’re right! Big Brother probably didn’t come to watch the sacrificial ceremony for this very reason. I wish I had stayed away too! But the sight of eight dragons circling is just too cool! Si Lisao, Sheng Liuyun, Yun Yin, Gu Changbin, Lu Jinyi... who are the other three?"
"Don’t you know?" Ye Siyuan answered. "It’s Xi Jinrong, Bo Leng, and Su Zhi! These three Princes of the Mu Continent once vied with Crown Prince Lisao for control of the Mu Continent. They fought fiercely, nearly to the death. However, they were narrowly defeated, so they usually don’t come to the Imperial Capital. They don’t want to stand before Si Lisao and appear lesser. They stay in their own fiefdoms, acting like lords. If it weren’t for our sister-in-law’s ascension to the throne, they probably wouldn’t have come!"
The Mu Continent had once seen a spectacular struggle for succession among nine dragons, ending with Si Lisao’s victory—a piece of gossip Ye Shen was naturally aware of.
"That Black Dragon must be Bo Leng," Ye Siyuan said spitefully. "He has the darkest heart!"
Bo Leng had once nearly won the battle against Si Lisao for the title of Crown Prince and was extremely popular in the Mu Continent. However, for some reason, he lost to Si Lisao at the last moment. It’s said that he has been brooding over this grievance ever since. He is Si Lisao’s biggest thorn, so Si Lisao usually avoids provoking him, preferring to steer clear.
Since Ye Siyuan had fallen for Si Lisao, she naturally shared his enmity and would speak ill of Bo Leng behind his back.
Furthermore, it was said that Xi Jinrong, Bo Leng, and Su Zhi formed one faction, led by Bo Leng. Si Lisao, Sheng Liuyun, Yun Yin, Gu Changbin, and Lu Jinyi formed another, led by Si Lisao. Consequently, Sheng Liuyun, Yun Yin, Gu Changbin, and Lu Jinyi all lived in the Imperial Capital, while the other three dominated their own territories, becoming regional overlords.
But Ye Shen added, "I heard Bo Leng is quite capable. Many people in the Mu Continent like him; his popularity there is second only to Si Lisao’s. You can tell by the number of fans he has on social media—his followers on the Mu Continent are second only to Si Lisao’s, far surpassing those idol stars!"
Ye Siyuan immediately glared at Ye Shen, her eyes wide with anger. "Whose side are you on?"
How could he not side with her future brother-in-law!
Ye Shen immediately clamped his mouth shut. A woman’s wrath was not to be trifled with!
After a moment of silence, Ye Shen absentmindedly asked, "Second Sister, do you know if Bo Leng’s family has any Little Dragon cubs?"
"Why do you ask?" Ye Siyuan retorted.
"Look," Ye Shen explained. "Sheng Liuyun, Yun Yin, Gu Changbin, and Lu Jinyi—their Little Dragon cubs all belong to my brother and sister-in-law. Think about it. Think carefully!"
"Bo Leng seems to have several children," Ye Siyuan said. "His eldest son is already eleven years old this year!"
Ye Shen sighed with a hint of regret.
At that moment, Si Mingjing’s dance concluded, and she descended from the altar.
While she was changing clothes backstage, the sound of footsteps approached from afar—steady and slow, carrying with them a resonance that struck the heart.
Si Mingjing was changing clothes in her small, closed-door compartment. She could discern that the footsteps had stopped right outside her door.
"Who’s there?" she asked.
"It’s Bo Leng."
Bo Leng? Si Mingjing recalled Si Lisao mentioning him two days earlier. He had said three Princes from the Mu Continent would also be attending her coronation.
"Wait a moment, I’m changing," Si Mingjing said.
"No rush," the man’s voice replied, tinged with a hint of coldness.
After Si Mingjing finished changing, she saw an exceptionally handsome yet cold man sitting outside the small compartment, exuding a somber aura.
He sat at the vanity, flipping through a book—the very one she had found boring while getting her makeup done and had asked someone to bring her to pass the time.
Si Mingjing walked toward him.
The man looked up, his cool, aloof gaze meeting hers.
Their eyes met. Bo Leng set down the book and said, "Call me Big Brother."
His voice was flat but icy, carrying an undeniable, stern authority.
Si Mingjing was momentarily speechless.
Si Mingjing slightly raised an eyebrow. "And you are?"
Suddenly, the man rose. He was tall and formidable, his eyes blazing like fire and as sharp as a scalpel. Towering a full head above her, his overwhelming presence bore down, making Si Mingjing catch her breath. Then, his hand landed on her head, ruffling her hair twice as he remarked, "Not bad looking."
Si Mingjing was exasperated. !!!
What did he mean by "not bad looking"?
"How much did you suffer on Prison Star all these years?" he asked.
Si Mingjing took a step back, creating some distance between them. She found her breathing eased. "It’s been all right."
Bo Leng noticed her attempt to create distance, and a flicker of gloom crossed his eyes. He drew back his arm, clasping his hands behind his back. Standing over her, the intense pressure returned as he said, "You used to be closest to me. Now, you seem estranged."
His cold tone held an undertone of helplessness.
"Call me Big Brother!" This time, it was an order.
His tone implied severe consequences if she dared to refuse.
Could this person also be her biological older brother? Si Mingjing wondered. He seemed a few years older than Si Lisao.
Si Mingjing paused for a moment, then said, "Big Brother."
"Quick on the uptake."
The usually inexpressive man smiled. His fingers were long, pale, and strong. "I’ve heard you want to study Western medicine. If you’re interested, come find me in Shendu. Shendu has the best Western medical schools and hospitals on Earth. You can learn anything you wish there. Whatever Si Lisao can give you, I can not only provide but offer even more!"
With that, Bo Leng turned and walked out.
His back was straight and resolute, exuding an ascetic air.
