Chapter 369: Don’t worry, daddy is here 2
The little assistant was extremely embarrassed.
Usually, when Lun Bobing couldn’t speak, she could do whatever she wanted.
Fearing that Lun Bobing might get sick from being cooped up at home alone, she made it a point to take him with her to her study sessions every day.
Lun Bobing’s bodyguard also supported her audacious actions.
So she wasn’t afraid of anything.
Was Lun Bobing planning to settle old scores with her?
Feeling timid, the little assistant quickly re-evaluated her actions. "Lun, I was wrong."
"I’ll allow you to continue making mistakes, but only if you manage to get into graduate school. Otherwise, I’ll be sure to settle every single account with you," Lun Bobing said with a deliberately stern expression.
When he put on a serious face, he possessed an intimidating aura.
The little assistant nodded vigorously, frightened.
Biting her red lips, she immediately wheeled Lun Bobing towards the school library.
Si Mingjing slept for five hours and woke up to darkness, roused by her growling stomach.
Mo Yinhe was sitting beside her, looking through documents. Hearing the rumbling of her stomach, he put the documents aside, leaned over, and rubbed her belly twice. "Woke up because you’re hungry?"
Mingjing was still groggy and furrowed her brows from hunger.
She blamed the day’s acupuncture session for depleting too much energy, prompting a protest from her stomach.
"What do you want to eat?" Mo Yinhe asked, kissing her cheek.
Suddenly, Mingjing really wanted to have the corn and pork rib soup he cooked.
There was a time when she had period cramps and woke up to find him cooking corn and pork rib soup for her in a hotel room. That heartwarming scene had stayed in her memory, and she longed for it.
"I want the corn and pork rib soup that you cook."
"You’d starve before the soup is ready," he replied.
Making soup required slow simmering for at least two or three hours. How could her protesting stomach wait that long?
Deciding for himself, Mo Yinhe suggested, "Your dinner is still kept warm. Should I have someone bring it over?"
Mingjing, in a rare display of willfulness, said, "I just want the corn and pork rib soup you cook. I’m not interested in anything else."
"I’ll go make it for you."
Mo Yinhe didn’t waste words. He adored her little whim.
He liked it even more when she peremptorily instructed him to cook.
It meant that she regarded him as her man!
A woman only instructs her own man with such confidence.
Mo Yinhe kissed her face firmly as a reward, then headed to the kitchen.
Having taken a bath, Mingjing, dressed in a camisole nightgown and a thin knitted cardigan, leisurely headed to the kitchen to find Mo Yinhe.
Before she even stepped into the kitchen, she caught the aroma of garlic.
Entering the kitchen, she saw Mo Yinhe plating a dish of garlic vermicelli steamed scallops. Its appearance was as enticing as its aroma, stirring her appetite.
The kitchen’s evening light was soft, casting a beautiful food-filter effect over the dish of garlic vermicelli steamed scallops, making her drool.
Mo Yinhe couldn’t help but chuckle.
He beckoned with a scallop. "Starving? Come over and eat."
Mingjing walked over, stood by Mo Yinhe’s side, reached out to take one directly, and placed it in her mouth.
"How does it taste?"
Mo Yinhe handed her a paper napkin to wipe her hands.
Si Mingjing’s eyes widened. "Delicious."
Then, she reached for more from the plate, eating with great relish, her eyes squinted to slits, like an innocent child unaware of the world.
Mo Yinhe felt a sudden urge to spoil her, to rub her head, wishing he could concentrate on nothing else for the rest of his life but feeding her well.
The orange chandelier cast a glow on Mo Yinhe’s face, adding a layer of exquisitely tender, doting light to his handsome features, making him look both charming and suggestive.
Mo Yinhe knew that making soup took time, so after letting the corn and pork rib soup simmer on low heat, he made her a few more delicious dishes.
There were steamed scallops with garlic vermicelli, pan-fried boneless chicken thighs, jade shrimp with snow peas, and a plate of tender greens.
Mo Yinhe brought the cooked dishes to the dining room, served her a bowl of white rice, and led her to the living room to eat.
"Eat something first. The corn and pork rib soup won’t be ready for another three hours. Can you wait?"
Holding her utensils, Si Mingjing ate and said, "I can wait."
Mo Yinhe smiled. "My corn and pork rib soup is that good?"
Si Mingjing also smiled. She didn’t answer; her desire to eat it was obvious.
Without receiving an answer, Mo Yinhe’s restless long legs hooked her calf under the table, continuing his query, "Is it really that good?"
Still without answering, Si Mingjing stepped on his foot under the table.
Pretending to be in pain, Mo Yinhe pulled her over, pinned her on his lap, and said while circling her in his arms, "You little brat, daring to kick me after I cooked for you."
Si Mingjing looked away, her laughter unrestrained.
Mo Yinhe’s hand reached under her shirt, only to be swatted away. "Stop it!"
Who was playing around? He was asserting his husbandly authority!
He held her close. "Eat quickly, I’m getting sleepy."
The word "sleepy" was definitely loaded; here, it was a verb.
Si Mingjing ate even slower, saying, "What about Xiaobai and the others?"
"They’re with my mom."
Usually, if the children weren’t with them, it meant that other family members had taken them to look after.
Even though having four kids was a bit much, there were even more elders in the family, so there was no worry about lacking caretakers, allowing them to be hands-off parents.
After finishing her meal, Si Mingjing said, "I miss Xiaobai. I’ll go bring them back."
But Mo Yinhe simply carried her straight back to the bedroom.
"Mo Yinhe, let me down. I just ate, and vigorous activity isn’t advisable," she protested.
Mo Yinhe laughed heartily, tossing her onto the mattress and pressing down with his tall frame. "Don’t worry, I know intense scenes don’t get approved. I, your Crown Prince, just want to have a pure chat with you under the covers."
His long fingers coiled a strand of her long hair around his fingertip, then used the end to gently scrape her nose.
The sensation was ticklish, sending a pleasant shiver through her.
The two of them idly passed the time in the night, until Xiaobai’s loud voice came from outside the door, "Jingjing, Jingjing, open the door!"
Mo Yinhe hadn’t locked the door. He called out, "Open it yourself."
"Jingjing! Little master can’t push it open, Jingjing..."
Mo Yinhe held Si Mingjing in his arms, preventing her from getting off the bed, and said, "Don’t mind that little rascal."
The next second, from outside the door came the voice of a chubby child, "What’s going on? I can’t open it, either. Daddy, open the door! Daddy~~~"
Upon hearing the child’s voice, Mo Yinhe’s attitude changed completely. He got off the bed and strode to the door, opening it while soothing, "Don’t worry, Daddy’s here."
However, there were no children outside the door.
Mo Yinhe didn’t notice that four Q-version little dragon whelps, about the size of teacup dogs, slipped past his feet one by one, scampering into the bedroom.
Si Mingjing noticed the four Q-version little dragon whelps, got off the bed, gathered them onto it, and asked, "What’s this about?"
Q-version Xiaobai rolled into Si Mingjing’s arms and said, "We want to sleep with Jingjing, but Auntie said the bed isn’t big enough for six people, so Little Master and my siblings shrank down. We take up no space at all. I’m clever, aren’t I?"
