My crazy Cultivation Path

CHAPTER 153- many battles and events.

CHAPTER 153- many battles and events.

After getting lost more than once and wandering in circles for two days straight,

it was six days later that the group finally arrived in front of the entrance gate of the underground base.

Sigh.

With leaves in his hair and mud all over his legs, Darlius let out a sigh of relief.

— Finally… I really thought we were going to keep going in circles in that damn forest for a long time.

— Instead of talking so much, knock on that damn door so we can rest like normal human beings.

Sleeping in that desolate forest—sorry, but I’m sick of it.

said Hikiri in an irritated tone.

Knock.

Knock.

Silence.

— Uh… are they planning to open or not?

Because if not, I’ll just destroy that door.

Tony muttered.

— At first glance, it’s clearly not made of wood or stone.

So I doubt brute force alone would be enough to destroy it.

Sys murmured.

Just as Tony was about to snap back at Sys, he was interrupted by a voice that rose from behind the door.

— Who are you?

See?

Darlius thought inwardly.

— I am Commander Darlius, leader of the group…

he said, then quickly turned toward Simone.

— What was our group number?

— How could I remember?

I don’t even remember how long it’s been since we left.

Simone replied.

Darlius began scratching his head nervously.

— You might laugh, but over the past few weeks we’ve gone through many battles and events.

So information like our group name is easily forgotten.

But I can tell you the objective of our suicide mission: to kill all cultivators of the Payo clan who were at Mount Saint Michel.

And I can assure you that the mission was perfectly successful.

Darlius declared.

Suddenly, Tony and Hikiri burst out laughing.

Turning around, Darlius asked them why they were laughing.

— Like you said, Darlius, you’re a commander.

And you just said we came back from a suicide mission, even though Canou, aka the Supreme Leader, described that mission as easy.

Tony sneered.

…I’m screwed.

That damn Canou sends everyone he dislikes—or who disagrees with him—on suicide missions.

Darlius realized inwardly.

Positioning himself again in front of the door, he prepared to correct his previous words.

But before he could, the door opened, revealing a man wearing light armor.

He gestured for everyone to follow him.

— Back to prison.

Hikiri muttered.

— Temporarily, you mean.

And anyway, I’m just training.

Tony declared.

The man led them into the base’s meeting room, where all the other commanders and the Supreme Leader were already present.

Darlius grew nervous again. He even clenched his teeth.

He wasn’t afraid of them anymore; this long mission had stripped that fear away.

What he feared most was being sent on yet another suicide mission.

Honestly, what I saw at Mount Saint Michel was more than enough.

Seeing things like that again would only make me nauseous.

Darlius sighed mentally.

……

As he entered the room, he noticed that all the commanders were staring at him.

Just as I thought, their gazes don’t really bother me because…

it’s awkward. Just awkward.

Maybe if I were egocentric, I’d enjoy it, but right now… your stares are annoying.

Darlius thought, keeping his insults to himself.

It was Chief Canou who began the conversation.

— Well then, Darlius, as I told you, it was a simple mission.

But tell me how you carried it out.

— Simple my ass…

Darlius slowly turned around and looked at Tony, who confirmed with a glance that he had spoken out loud.

Silence.

The other commanders couldn’t believe their ears.

Darlius—the one they considered a coward—had just said something like that.

— Ahem… so, about the mission…

We destroyed the entire island and killed all the cultivators.

Well… mostly the surface of the island.

But overall, the mission was completed.

Darlius said.

— And about these people… when you left, you were eight.

One is missing, and you’re bringing others back with you.

How many are you now? Fifteen? Twenty?

— They helped us on the island.

On top of that, two of them are rank eight.

With me, Hikiri, Aconé, Dina, and Tony…

that makes seven rank eights.

Darlius declared.

With a surprised expression, Canou said:

— Are you telling me that Tony, Dina, and Aconé reached rank eight during this mission?

— That’s right.

Darlius replied quickly.

— I’d like to declare something, my dear commanders and Supreme Leader.

I remember seeing a floor that isn’t used or inhabited.

So I plan to settle there to train, for at least six nonstop months.

So if you plan to send me on a mission, sorry, but I’ll refuse.

Oh—and I almost forgot: prepare yourselves, because your long war is almost over.

I’d say that in two or three years, there will be a great battle, and it will be the last one.

You’ll be forced to take part, because that will be your chance to eliminate your two enemies in a single battle.

Tony said, before casually walking away.

All the commanders turned toward Canou.

— That’s it. We just needed confirmation. Now we’re certain.

Send messages to the other bases.

Tell them to limit missions and prepare as many people as possible for war.
