Chapter 51: Long Tian’s Death (3): Rebirth
Chapter 51: Long Tian’s Death (3): Rebirth
Long Tian opened his weary eyes and saw the familiar figure of Meng Lingxue.
His mind didn’t process the fact that he was alive.
But upon seeing her familiar figure, he didn’t know when he moved his body and stood up, crashing his lips onto hers.
Meng Lingxue saw Long Tian’s eyes open and began to panic.
For some reason, she didn’t want to expose herself now, nor did she want Long Tian to find out about her.
As she tried to hide herself, Long Tian stood up, removed the hands she was using to cover her face, and forcefully kissed her.
This sudden event shocked her. She tried to free herself and push Long Tian away, but his grip on her was too strong.
He sucked on her lips, and before she knew it, she followed along.
She kissed him back, the tips of her ears turning red like blood, her cheeks flushing as though blood was rushing beneath her skin.
Her mind became clouded by the kiss.
After the intense kiss, Long Tian separated from her and looked at her. He cupped her cheeks, staring at her with a foolish expression.
This intimate action shook her.
"I never thought I would see your face again. Even if this is a dream or whatever, I am content," he said, laughing foolishly.
Meng Lingxue’s entire face felt like it was burning. Long Tian’s handsome face and charm had smitten her.
She wanted to speak, but Long Tian suddenly collapsed onto her shoulder.
She panicked for a moment.
Then she realized he had merely fallen unconscious. She began to think the scene she had experienced was unreal.
She calmed down and gently laid him on the ground.
Looking at his peaceful face and rosy skin, she couldn’t stop herself from giving him a light peck on the head.
With that, she took one last glance at him before disappearing from the cave.
After an hour, Long Tian slowly began to open his eyes.
He looked at the cave walls, wondering if this was hell.
But sensing Originat in the atmosphere, he suddenly stood up in shock.
He looked at his body and skin, realizing he was alive.
This realization caused no visible change in his expression, but deep within his eyes, a flicker of joy appeared.
He didn’t know how he had come back to life, but he was grateful for the chance.
As he glanced around the cave, wondering how he had gotten there—
A scene flashed in his mind.
Meng Lingxue had appeared here, and they...
He touched his lips. The memory felt real, vivid, almost intoxicating, but after thinking it through, he dismissed it as a dream.
There was no way Meng Lingxue would appear here and be kind enough to save him.
Recalling her cold expression, he shook the thought away.
There was no way.
Perhaps it was the Red Dragon Soul that had saved him.
Thinking of this, his mind sank into his dantian.
His consciousness appeared within it, and he was met with a spectacular scene that shook him.
The diagrams had disappeared. What stood before him were three round objects.
There was no Source Ring. Even the source images had vanished.
He was confused and baffled by this strange development.
As he tried to process it, a stream of information entered his mind.
After digesting it, he finally understood what had happened.
The Infinite Source Genesis Diagram hadn’t disappeared—it had fused with his dantian.
Which meant his dantian had become the Infinite Source Genesis Diagram.
And those round objects were Source Dantians.
From the name, they were dantians created by the Infinite Source Codex, each corresponding to a cultivation technique.
This was to prevent clashes between different energies.
Each Source Dantian functioned like his original dantian, but was specifically created for a particular cultivation technique.
The Nine Dragon Scripture controlled draconic Originat and all draconic-related powers.
The Celestial Fox Art controlled elemental Originat, fox energy, and everything related to fox abilities.
The Netherworld Reaper Codex controlled death energy, netherworld energy, and all related powers.
This surprised him.
But as he absorbed more information, his expression shifted from surprise to disappointment.
The Infinite Source Cannon could only allow him to cultivate three different techniques at his current level.
However, as his cultivation improved, the limit would increase.
And in the future, at his peak, the Infinite Source Cannon would allow him to cultivate limitless techniques.
It also had requirements.
The techniques could not be too weak, though they didn’t necessarily have to be peak-level.
These three techniques would become his foundational techniques—ones he would rely on.
Meaning, if he had chosen average techniques, it would have limited his potential.
Cold sweat formed on his back.
Why hadn’t this information appeared earlier?
He roared inwardly.
Fortunately, the techniques he had chosen were peak-level.
That brought him relief.
But when he thought about how he had obtained them, a realization surfaced.
Perhaps everything had been planned... or set in stone.
Each technique focused on one of the three aspects of cultivation—body, soul, and energy.
Though none were lacking in the other areas.
Another piece of information caused his expression to darken again.
The strength of the techniques had to remain balanced.
If he absorbed too much death energy for the Netherworld Reaper Codex, the Infinite Source Cannon would automatically convert part of it into fox and draconic energy to maintain equilibrium.
Because of this, he would require three times the amount of Originat compared to normal cultivators.
Though this would slow his cultivation speed, the benefits outweighed the drawbacks.
Another advantage was that these Source Dantians served as reservoirs for Originat.
His mind sank into one of them.
He saw that the space was larger than a normal dantian.
At the center of each Source Dantian stood its corresponding source image.
He saw the Red Dragon Soul resting atop the stone dragon statues.
Though his consciousness couldn’t fully enter, he could still communicate.
"Red Dragon Emperor."
The sleeping dragon soul woke up, its expression brightening.
It appeared before Long Tian, looking at his consciousness.
The Red Dragon Soul burst into joyful laughter.
I had thought Long Tian had perished, so seeing him alive brought relief.
It didn’t care how he survived—only that he had.
"What happened? I thought you perished under the tribulation," the Red Dragon Soul asked.
Long Tian was surprised.
Did that mean it wasn’t the one who brought him to the cave?
Meng Lingxue’s face flashed through his mind.
He shook it off.
There was no way she had appeared and saved him.
"Sigh... thinking back, it’s shocking that I’m alive. I found myself in a place filled with darkness..."
Long Tian began explaining everything—his encounter with the voice, his response, and the appearance of the strange Grim Reaper.
When he finished, he saw the Red Dragon Soul staring at him with a mixture of anger and confusion.
"Why aren’t you saying anything? You’re making me curious."
Long Tian frowned.
"Didn’t you hear me say I found myself in darkness...?"
"Didn’t I hear you what?" the Red Dragon Soul asked, confused.
Long Tian paused again.
This frustrated both of them.
"I already explained everything," Long Tian said, irritation creeping into his voice.
The Red Dragon Soul was startled by his reaction. It looked closely at him and realized he wasn’t lying.
"Explain it again," it said.
Long Tian sighed but had no choice. He began recounting everything once more.
When he finished, the Red Dragon Soul’s expression had turned serious.
"Don’t tell me you didn’t hear any of it," Long Tian said, frowning.
The Red Dragon Soul nodded.
Long Tian’s expression darkened.
"Don’t be afraid," the Red Dragon Soul said. "It’s a form of self-protection. Whatever you encountered must be an existence beyond the scope of the Heavenly Dao—something that cannot be spoken of lightly."
Its explanation caused Long Tian to fall into deep thought.
Was it the Grim Reaper?
Or the one who sighed?
Thinking back, he realized he had never mentioned the sigh to anyone.
More importantly... he had never even tried.
That made it more likely.
The owner of that sigh...
Was connected to the Infinite Source Cannon.
The Infinite Source Cannon.
The Nine Dragon Scripture.
The Celestial Fox Art.
The Netherworld Reaper Codex.
With strange encounters, he was able to cultivate them.
Why was it him?
As he thought about everything—from the beginning to the tribulation—he realized something deeper.
Something had changed within him.
Something hidden.
There must have been a reason... he had to die.
All of this led him to one conclusion.
He had been dragged into an unknown whirlpool.
And for now...
Whether he would survive it—
Remained uncertain.
