Chapter 46: Red Dragon Soul
Chapter 46: Red Dragon Soul
Long Tian was oblivious to Meng Lingxue’s thoughts focused on him.
Otherwise, he would have grinned with satisfaction.
He remained cross-legged, his aura expanding.
He discovered that no matter how much Originat he absorbed, he hit a barrier and hadn’t entered the Origin Gathering Realm.
There was some sort of barrier blocking him, like a shackle holding him back.
As for the Netherworld Reaper Codex, it was much easier. It could absorb Originat without issue.
He faced the same problem with the Celestial Fox Art—he couldn’t advance into the Origin Gathering Realm.
Even though he felt that different parts of his body had improved.
His strength had also increased.
He immediately tried the Nine Dragon Scripture.
But he still felt incomplete, stuck in a deadlock.
As he pondered a solution, he heard a deep sigh—as if it came from a thousand years ago.
"As expected, you can’t advance," a voice said.
An ancient voice echoed from nowhere, shaking Long Tian.
He could sense arrogance and dominance within it.
His guard immediately went up, ready for battle.
"Who are you?"
Before Long Tian could comprehend what was happening, he found himself in the Infinite Source Genesis Diagram.
The nine dragons statue stood before him, emitting a domineering aura different from before.
He looked at the dragons before his gaze landed on the one that had almost completely cracked.
He felt the voice came from it. He didn’t know why but let’s call it intuition.
"Are you the one talking to me?" He asked.
"Haha, it seems you aren’t that dumb young man."He felt fluctuations from it as the same familiar voice resounded in his mind.
He was shocked, looking at the stone statue again.
He never thought they were alive or was it only one?
He didn’t think much of it, he remembered its words that it was expected that he couldn’t advance.
"From your words, it seems that you know the problem stopping me from advancing." Long Tian asked.
"That’s surprising, young man. You didn’t even ask of my origins and you aren’t afraid of the fact that I will bring you harm."The voice chuckled, a bit amused.
Long Tian shrugged his shoulders, "At first I was a bit scared but for some reason, my fear disappeared, it felt as if you should be afraid of me. That feeling is kinda strange. Also I don’t think you can harm me in this Infinite Source Genesis Diagram."
The voice seemed surprised by Long Tian’s statement, then chucked at the end.
"So is it that I cultivate the Nine Dragon Body Refinement wrongly." Long Tian asked.
He remembered the origin chaos energy was what made his body refinement to reach where it was.
Since he was unconscious, unaware of the process of the body refinement. He thought maybe he might have done it the wrong way.
"No, there are no mistake. You are on the right path but your situation is a bit special. Cultivators of the Nine Dragon Scripture doesn’t have such body as you and didn’t undergo the complete body refinement."
The words of the voice confused him.
The voice seemed to sense his confusion and explained, "What I mean is that it’s not compulsory you complete the nine tiers of body refinement before you absorb Originat. Only dragons can be able to do so, as for humans, their body and soul wouldn’t be handle it."
Long Tian frowned, "Is it that hard. It was very easy for him and I just started cultivating and it’s not up to week."
His words made the mysterious voice become silent.
After some moments, it sighed and said, "That’s why I said your situation is special. Even I don’t understand what’s going on."
"Whatever, so what’s the problem with me." Long Tian wanted answers.
"Ahem, you don’t have a dragon soul which makes you unable to advance. It’s not compulsory to have one but I don’t know what defying cultivation technique you are cultivating, but it wants your foundation perfect." The voice explained.
Long Tian’s expression turned sullen. Where’s he supposed to find a dragon soul.
And where can he find dragon in the modern age.
As he thought of ways, his eyes flashed with light, he looked at the dragon stone statues, "If I am not wrong and from your words, you are a dragon."
The voice chuckled, "That’s very perspective of you but you see, no human can handle the weight of my dragon soul. It would cause your body to explode."
"Huff, also I am the Red Dragon Emperor, there’s no way I will ever fuse with a human soul. Thinking of it makes me reek."
Long Tian’s expression became sullen again. The words of this mysterious dragon wasn’t helpful at all but every of its words were like a poisonous arrow.
"We can’t say." Long Tian began persuading the dragon.
This was related to his advancement of Cultivation. There was no way he would stay as a fish forever, he wants to leap over the dragon gate and become a dragon.
"Sighs, even though I want to fuse with you, your soul and body can’t contain me. You are too weak. I am the Red Dragon Emperor, I roam through the universe, planets are destroyed with the wave of my claw,..."
"Ahem.." Long Tian forced a smile as he coughed.
"Young man, how dare you stop my words. " A fiery roar resounded in Long Tian’s mind.
"Senior Dragon, you know there’s a pressing matter."Long Tian explained.
He now realised that the dragon soul likes to boast a lot and can be a bit fiery.
He had no time listening to them as the pressing issue of advancing into Cultivation path seems cut off.
The Dragon soul became silent, "I don’t think your cultivation technique would purposely stop you from advancing, there should be a solution to it. First, break me out from the seal."
Long Tian paused, "Were you sealed by someone."
"Hmph, who could dare seal me and my brothers. We sealed ourselves due to circumstances." The dragon soul replied arrogantly.
"Hmm, and you can’t break free from the seal you did yourself." Long Tian scoffed.
"Young man, are you doubting me. Even your first generation..."
"Alright, Alright. I have heard." Long Tian waved his hands.
"You.... Stop interrupting my words."Long Than could feel the fiery anger from its voice, but he felt no fear.
"So what should I do to break you from the seal."Long Tian said nonchalantly.
The fiery dragon soul felt as if water was poured on its head. It never Long Tian would reply with that.
His nonchalant expression made it angry. As it wanted to use its power to teach Long Tian a great lesson, a pressure descend from nowhere that made its soul shake in fear.
It felt if it attacked Long Tian, its soul will be obliterated.
It had no option than to hold its anger and directed Long Tian. "Just put your middle finger on my forehead."
Long Tian proceeded and did so. He didn’t know he had avoided danger.
He calmly placed his middle finger according to the dragon soul’s instruction.
BOOM!
It was as if a shackle had broken. A fiery red light shone greatly that it blasted Long Tian’s consciousness away.
By the time Long Tian got himself, he found himself in the starry sky.
Numerous stars were glowing, he couldn’t count them. Suddenly,
ROAR!
A draconic roar broke the silence and he slowly turned back and saw a majestic creature.
This majestic creature possesses a long, serpentine body covered in deep crimson scales. Its form is smooth and well-proportioned, carrying a natural sense of balance and control. The scales are slightly reflective, catching light with a faint metallic sheen, while a subtle heat lingers around its body, noticeable but never overwhelming.
Its head is refined rather than bulky, with two curved horns extending backward in a quiet, regal arc. Thin whiskers hang from either side of its face, drifting gently as if stirred by unseen currents. Its eyes are sharp and steady, holding a calm, commanding presence that does not need to assert itself.
Its claws are strong and precise, and every movement is measured, whether it coils through the air or remains in stillness. Nothing about it feels excessive, yet nothing feels lacking.
Its body stretches to an immense size, spanning vast distances while remaining perfectly proportioned and fluid. Each scale is clear and well-defined, with faint patterns forming naturally across them, like marks shaped by time and power.
The crimson of its scales is deep and heavy, as though refined over countless years, with a subtle glow resting beneath the surface. Its horns are pronounced and dignified, its whiskers long and steady, and its gaze calm yet imposing, as if nothing in existence could disturb it.
The heat around it does not spread wildly but gathers close, compressing the air and leaving a dense, weighted stillness in its presence.
