Chapter 1828: Watching a Movie with My Wife

After Chu Xiaoran went back to the room to rest, only Xiao Zheng and Leng Ruobing were left in the living room.

The TV was showing a clichéd urban romance drama, which didn’t stir any interest at all.

Xiao Zheng found it somewhat boring, so he asked, "Honey, are you planning to go back to your room to rest now too?"

Upon hearing this, Leng Ruobing gave him a glance and then shook her head, saying, "It’s still early; I don’t want to rest so early today. Why, asking in such a hurry, are you planning to go out later?"

Seeing her half-smiling expression, Xiao Zheng immediately felt a chill down his spine, and quickly shook his head saying, "Of course not, even if I were to go out, it would definitely be with you."

"I just find this TV drama too boring, and Xiao Ran’s words reminded me, why don’t we go see a movie? If we go now, we can just catch the midnight show."

"I heard there’s a newly released romance movie that’s perfect for couples to watch."

Leng Ruobing seemed to struggle keeping up with his thoughts, clearly paused for a moment: "Watching a movie? Going out so late, won’t we encounter some danger?"

Upon hearing her words, Xiao Zheng couldn’t help but respond with a wry smile, "With me by your side, how could there be any danger?"

Leng Ruobing’s face blushed slightly, realizing her words had been somewhat redundant.

But you couldn’t blame her; since she became pregnant, she had become extremely cautious with everything, fearing that any mistake could harm the child in her belly.

On the other hand, Leng Ruobing was really keen on watching a movie with Xiao Zheng.

After saying that, he dashed back into the bedroom.

After finding a windbreaker for Leng Ruobing, they finally went out.

Xiao Zheng didn’t intend to go far to watch the movie, so he drove Leng Ruobing to the nearest cinema. Given how late it was, there weren’t many people inside the cinema.

This suited Leng Ruobing perfectly since she didn’t like crowded places.

"The movie’s about to start, let’s hurry in."

After picking up the tickets, Xiao Zheng returned to Leng Ruobing’s side.

Leng Ruobing nodded before following him obediently into the ticket check pathway.

After checking the tickets, it was already very late.

Holding Leng Ruobing’s hand, Xiao Zheng quickened his pace towards screening room 7. Screening room 7 was inside and required a turn. As they were turning, Xiao Zheng accidentally collided with someone.

Xiao Zheng wasn’t hurt, but that person fell heavily onto the ground, sitting down with a thump.

"I’m sorry."

"We were rushing to catch the opening of our movie, which caused the accidental bump. Are you okay?"

Xiao Zheng spoke politely while preparing to help him up.

Since he bumped into the person, he spoke very courteously.

However, unexpectedly, the other person refused his help, shoved his hand away, and somewhat angrily said, "Rushing? Why don’t you say you’re rushing to be reborn? On such a wide path, you managed to bump into me; are you blind?"

Even Leng Ruobing found this guy rather annoying.

This rude behavior ignited a flame of anger in Xiao Zheng’s heart.

Initially, he didn’t want to stoop to such a person’s level, yet the rude behavior really got under his skin.

Just as Xiao Zheng was about to take action, Leng Ruobing intervened and said, "Xiao Zheng, just let it go. This is a public space, and the movie has started; let’s head in quickly."

Upon hearing her, Xiao Zheng decided not to make a move.

However, before leaving, he shot a vicious glare at the rude young man.

The young man wanted to open his mouth to curse again, but after receiving Xiao Zheng’s glare, he abruptly felt a pang of fear, causing him to swallow back his words.

Thus, a small altercation temporarily ceased.

When Xiao Zheng and Leng Ruobing entered the screening room, the movie had already been running for over two minutes. Fortunately, the main feature had just started, so it didn’t hinder their viewing. Plus, there weren’t many people in the screening room, including them, there were only about a dozen people in total.

Sitting quietly and watching for a while, Xiao Zheng found the movie to be quite well produced. At least it didn’t bore him, and during certain scenes, he even felt very moved.

As for Leng Ruobing, she was caught crying uncontrollably when the main characters were forcibly separated.

Seeing this, Xiao Zheng, seated beside her, couldn’t help but click his tongue.

It’s only during her pregnancy that he could witness such a sensitive side to Leng Ruobing. Despite their long time together, seeing her cry was a rarity.

After an hour and a half, the movie was finally over.

Once the lights in the screening room came on, confirming there weren’t any post-credit scenes, Xiao Zheng prepared to leave with Leng Ruobing and head home.

Walking along, Leng Ruobing was still wiping away tears with a tissue.

Seeing her eyes turned red from crying, Xiao Zheng couldn’t help but chuckle and said, "Did you really need to be so exaggerated? Didn’t the main characters end up together in the end? How could you cry so sorrowfully?"

Upon hearing him, Leng Ruobing shot him a glare and said, "These are tears of joy, so don’t speak if you don’t understand. Besides, would I have cried if you hadn’t brought me to watch the movie?"

Xiao Zheng shrugged, showing a bit of helplessness.

He truly didn’t know how to retort back to Leng Ruobing’s words, because she made perfect sense.

"Hurry and press the elevator button."

Leng Ruobing commanded.

Xiao Zheng responded with a smile, then pressed the elevator button. With a ding, the elevator doors finally opened. But just as they were about to take the elevator down to the underground parking lot, a sudden shout came from a distance.

"Wait a minute!"

Upon hearing it, Xiao Zheng quickly reopened the elevator door.

Quickly, a figure dashed into the elevator.

Once Xiao Zheng got a clear view of his face, he froze momentarily, and even Leng Ruobing had a trace of surprise on her face.
