Chapter 1234: Finding the Gu Master
Chapter 1234: Finding the Gu Master
Following the markings on the note, Xiao Zheng quickly found the location.
After a brief comparison, Xiao Zheng confirmed that the hidden cave nestled on the mountainside was indeed his destination for this trip.
Upon entering the cave, Xiao Zheng discovered that the passage was not very spacious, but it was apparent that it was man-made and quite old. He didn’t know its original purpose but now it was being used as a hideout by the Gu Master.
The passage was long, and Xiao Zheng couldn’t tell how far he had walked. Just as he assumed it would stretch on indefinitely, a turn suddenly appeared before him.
Turning the corner, the view opened up, revealing a hall.
To be precise, it was a massive cave, carved out by human hands.
A vast expanse lay before him, reminiscent of a plaza, with a flat surface seemingly polished by machines.
Xiao Zheng looked around and found no other exits around the plaza, which was likely the end of the passage.
At the same time, Xiao Zheng noticed Yang Qinghua.
Yang Qinghua was seated at the other end of the plaza on a huge stone platform, surrounded by several chairs. Beside her sat a man with a hooked nose.
The man appeared odd, with a thin stature and hooked nose, looking somewhat malnourished.
A variety of jars of different sizes hung around his neck, the largest of which was only fist-sized while the smallest was no larger than a thumb joint.
The jars, strung together with a rope, hung from his neck. As Xiao Zheng looked at the man, the latter also glanced at Xiao Zheng nonchalantly.
Instinctively, Xiao Zheng immediately recognized the man as Alin Zhen Suo.
Not far from them lay Fan Longzhou.
Fan Longzhou’s limbs had been broken by Xiao Zheng and he couldn’t stand.
Even so, he turned his head toward Xiao Zheng, his eyes shooting fiery hatred.
Then looking at Yang Qinghua, she turned sullen as soon as Xiao Zheng entered. Although Xiao Zheng hadn’t done anything to her, her cherished son had been reduced to a cripple by Xiao Zheng, which was unacceptable to her.
The one who caught Xiao Zheng’s attention most was Wang Zixin, not far from Yang Qinghua.
Earlier in the villa, the group had used trickery to abduct Fan Longzhou and Wang Zixin, and Fan Longzhou was now tied to a nearby stone pillar.
Wang Zixin’s appearance also stirred killing intent in Xiao Zheng’s heart.
The once adorable Wang Zixin was now tied to the pillar, looking very haggard, with a fresh red handprint on her face.
Upon seeing Xiao Zheng appear, Wang Zixin’s eyes suddenly lit up. She looked at Xiao Zheng excitedly but didn’t speak, knowing that shouting for help in this situation would be foolish.
Xiao Zheng took a deep breath, stepped forward two paces to stand at the center of the plaza, looked up at the people on the stone platform, and said, "It was you who left the note telling me to come here, now I’m here."
"Since you’re here, let’s settle the score between us," Yang Qinghua said with a cold laugh.
Xiao Zheng nodded directly, responding, "Alright, my purpose for coming here today is quite simple."
He turned to look at the man on the high platform, calmly saying, "My friends are experiencing some issues requiring hospitalization, and the hospital is utterly helpless; the medical equipment can’t detect anything. I believe their condition is related to you, correct?"
Alin Zhen Suo chuckled, nodding slightly, sizing Xiao Zheng up with curiosity.
"Is this the kind of person to stir such a grand confrontation?"
"Very well, since you did it, let’s not waste words. How do we resolve what’s affecting them?" Xiao Zheng asked indifferently.
Before Alin Zhen Suo could speak, Yang Qinghua interjected, "Do you truly think, after what you did to my son, that we would offer the solution so easily?"
"What do you want?" Xiao Zheng asked with a cold smile.
The current scenario was not part of Xiao Zheng’s initial plan; he intended to make them immediately pay upon any encounter.
However, he couldn’t act impulsively now as Wang Zixin was still in their hands.
With Wang Zixin as an absolute bargaining chip, Xiao Zheng had to handle things cautiously.
"Honestly, I didn’t want things to escalate this far from the start. I targeted them initially only to force you to meet my demands, but unfortunately, not only did you refuse,"
you sought out my son and turned him into this. Do you really think there’s room to maneuver here?" Yang Qinghua said, squinting slightly.
The first time he met Xiao Zheng, Xiao Zheng used ruthless tactics, giving him a fierce slap.
Since then, Xiao Zheng sensed that Yang Qinghua feared him instinctively.
Whenever she saw Xiao Zheng, fear would immediately grip her heart, as witnessed during Xiao Zheng’s second encounter with her.
At that time, Yang Qinghua didn’t dare utter a word or even look at Xiao Zheng.
But now things were different; with her son turned into a lifeless form by Xiao Zheng, Yang Qinghua’s fear vanished instantly.
For Yang Qinghua, her son was the most precious existence, more than any family wealth; losing him was unimaginable.
Now, with her most prized possession, her son, rendered useless by Xiao Zheng, how could she possibly endure?
Hearing her words, Xiao Zheng felt a surge of anger. Reflecting a bit, he said, "From start to finish, I never proactively provoked you. You repeatedly came after me,
even directly crossing the line this time, harming my friends. Can I not retaliate after such an injury to my friends?"
