"You think I don’t want to? Over the years, I’ve always been trying to make myself give up on you, to forget you, to stop keeping you in my heart, but I just can’t seem to forget you. Do you have any idea how much despair I feel? I want to start a new life, too, but your shadow, your smile, wander around in my mind every day, and I can’t make them disappear."

"For you, I’ve waited so many years. But what about you? You got married and had kids early on. Yet I don’t mind, I just want to have you!"

"Since you truly won’t give me another chance to be with you, then let’s have a proper drink tonight; don’t stop until you’re drunk. After tonight, I promise I won’t bother you anymore. Ran Zhihan hesitated for a moment, but ultimately decided to stay and drink with his classmate. Little did he know, that very night’s drinking would lead to suspicions of divorce.

"Remember what you just said. If you can stick to it, then I’ll join you for a drink, not stopping until we’re both drunk!" "Don’t worry, as long as you can stay and drink with me, not go home tonight, just stay here with me, I’ll definitely keep my promise to you!"

Chen Gang looked at the woman in front of him starting her drink, and his mood immediately improved dramatically. All he wanted was to be with the woman he loved. Yet, he had waited in vain for so many years, never even receiving an explanation. After studying so hard and returning from studying abroad, he found that the woman he loved was already married with children. How could he accept this?

Ran Zhihan was coerced into drinking one glass after another by Chen Gang. He knew his tolerance wasn’t strong, but seeing his classmate, he felt compelled to continue drinking. Little did he know that after getting completely inebriated, Chen Gang would take him back to his house.

Chen Gang expressed his inner thoughts to the utterly drunk Ran Zhihan.

The day slowly broke, and as he looked at the person in his arms, he felt like the happiest person in the world. He finally had the love he had always wanted, the woman he loved the most, even if the means were dubious. But it was the fulfillment of a deep desire in his heart.

Zhang Yichen saw his wife had been taken home by Chen Gang and had not come out all night. Yet, he chose to say nothing, waiting quietly at home for his wife to return and give him an explanation. He didn’t know what sort of excuses or lies she would use to deceive him this time.

Ran Zhihan hazily opened his eyes. He thought the man beside him was his husband, but when he clearly saw who it was, he realized he had made the biggest mistake of his life.

"Chen Gang, why is it you? What have you done to me? Why am I here this whole night? Didn’t you say that after last night’s drink you wouldn’t disturb my life anymore? You lied to me? How could you do this to me? How have I wronged you? Is living my own life really that difficult for you to accept? Do you have to mess up my life to be satisfied? I’ve told you it’s impossible for us to be together. How am I supposed to face my husband now? He will know just by one glance what I went through last night. Why are you treating me this way?"

"It’s exactly what I want. I want you to divorce your husband so that I can have a chance to take you back. I just want you to stay by my side. It may mean nothing to you, but to me, it’s my vital elixir. I want only the woman I love the most.
