Zhang Yichen knew what his grandfather was worried about. He had skipped breakfast and hurried out as soon as he got up. He called his good friends, asking them to thoroughly investigate the matter, and he also informed the police, reporting the incident so they could review surveillance footage from the night to find out what had happened to his son. "What are you saying? If you need surveillance footage, just let me know and I’ll burn it onto a disc and send it to you right away. Why the formality with me? I’m not sure what to say about this; such incidents have been happening frequently, with children being abducted. I can’t be sure if it’s the same person behind it—could it be them?"

"Chief, I need your help to get to the bottom of this. If this can be clearly investigated, there will be a generous reward. However, should the investigation yield unclear results, I’m sure you understand the consequences, right?"

After hanging up the phone, Zhang Yichen got busy with his work. Time flew, and the three-day deadline had arrived. He called his secretary to inquire about the investigation.

Zhang Yichen examined the surveillance footage brought by his secretary from the Public Security Bureau. The woman in the video bore an uncanny resemblance to his mother, and even after five years, her appearance seemed almost unchanged. Yet he could not believe it was his mother behind this. Why would she treat him like this? Could it be she had come back for revenge against his grandfather? Was it for the family fortune, or another reason that she returned, causing them to live in constant fear? Did she really dislike his family so much?

"Zhichen, I have a rough idea of who’s behind this; it’s the person we suspected in our hearts. I saw her face on the surveillance footage; it hasn’t changed a bit from before, and I also found out that she shares the same surname as that person!"
