Chapter 260: Captured
Chapter 260: Captured
While James and the girls with the Female Auto-bots were busy speaking together, Sam Witwicky headed home with Bumblebee. He thought his life had just changed. He thought he was just a normal guy going to university and then this happened. He thought he might have spoken to a cute girl and made a girlfriend but no. He was now heading home to get the glasses. He looked in the rear view mirror and saw them behind. He sighed.
Bumblebee turned the corner and drove down the street. He indicated left and pulled near the driveway. He drove around the back and opened the door. Sam looked up, to see the transformer transforming. “No, no, what are you doing?” Sam said.
“We are helping you,” Ratchet said as he walked around the garden.
“You are not helping,” Sam replied. "Stay behind the bushes!" Sam hissed as he waved his arms frantically. He thought he was going to get caught.
“Okay,” Optimus Prime said as he tried to crouch, however his massive shoulders knocked over a tree.
Bumblebee quickly caught the tree and put it down gently. “Sorry,” Optimus said.
“It was just a tree,” Jazz added as he looked around.
“The trees are scared,” Ratchet said as he hid behind the shed.
“You are too noisy,” Sam shouted as he sweated.
At that moment a dog came towards Ironhide. He lifted his leg and started to pee on Ironhide. He took his cannons out. "Time neutralises you,” he said.
"No! No neutralizing!" Sam whispered-yelled as he reached out and grabbed his dog. “Bad dog,” he said. The dog licked his face.
“You all stay put,” Sam shouted as he ran inside with the dog. He put the dog down.
Sam rushed to his room. The stair shook as he ran.
"Sam? Is that you?" his mom called out from the hallway. "Why is the house shaking? Is there an earthquake? Ron! China is rattling,” she shouted.
"I'm sure it's just the plumbing, Judy,” Ron shouted back from the living room. "Sam. Are you in your room? You better not be jumping around up there," he added.
"I'm just looking for something, Dad," Sam yelled back. He was down on his knees and frantically dumping the contents of a wooden chest onto the carpet. He saw old socks, high school yearbooks, and junk mail flying everywhere. "Where are they? Where are they?" he muttered.
"Sam, what are you doing?" Judy’ asked. "And why is there a giant yellow thing blocking the view of the garden? Ron, did you buy a yellow crane?" she asked.
"I didn't buy a crane, Judy. Sam, open this door," Ron added as he banged on the wood.
Sam ignored them. His fingers were diving into the very back of his bedside table. His knuckles hit something hard and cold. He pulled out a small, dusty leather case. He snapped it open and saw his grandfather’s old, cracked glasses. "Yes!" he breathed. "I got them. I actually got them," he added.
At that same time, Frenzy looked from the window. His red eyes narrowed as he saw the glasses. He saw a bag pack.
"Samual James Witwicky, if you don't open this door in three seconds," Ron started however the sound of tires screeching onto the front lawn cut him off.
"Oh my god, Ron, are those black SUVs?" Judy gasped as she looked out the hallway window. "They're tearing up the rose bushes. They're on the lawn," she added.
At that moment, the night was suddenly filled with blinding spotlights.
Sam quickly put the glasses in his bag and put the bag on.
"Federal agents, Don't move," one shouted.
A fleet of black SUVs screeched onto the lawn. They stopped and Seymour Simmons stepped out of the lead vehicle. He wore a suit and walked towards the door.
An agent came with a battering ram.
“Let me,” Simmons said as he kicked the door down. “I still have it,” he added.
He looked to see Sam, Judy and Ron. "Sam Witwicky. You’ve been a very busy boy," he said as agents with guns stormed in.
"I didn't do anything,” Sam said. “It's just a car," Sam lied.
Simmons ignored him. "Grab them all and take the glasses. We’re taking them to the Big House,” he said.
Two heavy-set men in tactical gear tackled him into the dirt. His face pressed against the grass of his own front lawn. "Hey. Watch the face,” Sam yelled. “This is kidnapping!" Sam added.
The agents tied his hand, The plastic ties bit into his wrists and locked his hands behind his back.
"You're a national security risk, kid," one agent grunted as he hauled Sam up by his collar and shoving him toward the open door of a pitch-black SUV. They threw him into the back seat like a sack of groceries.
"Mom,” he shouted. “Dad Help!" Sam screamed.
"Sam,” Judy said. “What are you doing to my son!?" Judy cried out from the porch.
However an agent blocked her path. "Ma'am, stay back,” he warned. “This is a matter of planetary defense,” he added.
Simmons climbed into the front seat and looked at the driver. "Move out. We’ve got the kid and the glasses. Let's get to the rendezvous,” he said as the engine roared. The black truck began to speed away. “Kid, you are in a world of trouble,” Simmons said. .
The car made it down the road when they saw a massive, blue-and-red wall of metal stepped directly in front of them. The driver slammed on the brakes, the tires screaming as the SUV skidded to a dead halt inches away from two giant, silver-toed boots.
"DEPOSIT THE BOY," a thunderous voice commanded.
“Optimus,” Sam shouted.
Optimus Prime looked down. “Release him now,” he said as he reached down with a hand the size of a dinner table. His massive metal fingers hooked under the edge of the SUV's roof. With a horrific screech of shearing metal and popping rivets, he pulled upward. The reinforced steel roof peeled back like the lid of a sardine can and exposed the terrified agents to the night sky.
Optimus leaned his massive head down, his glowing blue optics staring directly at Simmons. "I will not ask a second time,” he said.
Sam quickly got up. He looked up at the giant robot. "Nice timing, Optimus,” he said.
“You will not go away,” Simmons shouted.
“We will,” Sam said as he jumped out of the ruined car.
"Are you okay, Sam?" Optimus asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine,” Sam replied. He looked around and could hear sirens in the background. “We gotta go,” he added.
“Everyone to the bridge," Optimus shouted as his massive feet cracked the asphalt.
Sam scrambled out of the ruined SUV, his legs shaking. "I’m moving, I’m moving," he cried as he held the glasses to his chest and ran toward the underside of the highway overpass.
From the shadows of the side streets, six heavy Sector 7 trucks roared forward. They had wavy aprons on the back.
"Targets acquired. Cryo-systems online," a commander yelled over the radio as he fired massive high-tech harpoons. Their long thick steel cables went through the air. One slammed into the concrete next to Sam’s head and showered him in sparks. Another whistled past Optimus. “That was close,” Sam said as his eyes widened.
The third harpoon hit Bumblebee’s yellow armor with a sickening clack.
"Bee!" Sam screamed as he stopped in his tracks. He looked back in shock and horror.
Bumblebee whirred in pain as his gears were grinding.
Suddenly three trucks came forward and began spraying a thick, hissing white fog. "Ice,” Same shouted. “They're using ice," Sam yelled.
The freezing chemicals hit Bumblebee’s hot engine components and caused clouds of steam to erupt. Bumblebee slowed instantly. His hydraulics hissed and groaned.
"Secure him,” Simmons shouted as he stood on the back of a flatbed. "Hit him again. Heavy load and wrap him up,” he ordered.
At that moment, huge, weighted polymer nets launched from the trucks. It unfurled in the air like giant spiders' webs. They wrapped over Bumblebee. The high-tension mesh snagged on his jagged plates. Bumblebee let out a distorted sound.
"Bee,” Sam shouted. “Let him go," he yelled as Sam turned back. He thought he had only been with him for a few hours but he felt he was close.
Ratchet grabbed him by the back of his jacket and lifted him off the ground. "Sam, we have to go. You cannot help him now," he added as his sensors flashed red. He could detect more incoming signatures.
"You can't just leave him," Sam said as he fought against Ratchet’s grip and slipped away. He dropped the glasses and ran forward.
“Wait,” Ratchet said.
Sam watched in horror as the agents swarmed over Bumblebee like ants and sprayed more liquid nitrogen and tightened the cables.
At that moment, a Black SUV came from the right. An agent leapt out and tackled him to the ground. “Got you,” he said.
“Get off me,” Sam shouted back as his bag went flying and stopped near a Black SUV.
Meanwhile, Frenzy opened the back pack and made this way into a Black SUV.
“We need to go,” Ratchet said.
"No," Optimus rumbled as he picked up the glasses which fell from the bag and then looked at Bumblebee. "We must protect the Allspark first, or his sacrifice and everyone else's will be for nothing,” he said.
They drove away from the chaos and regrouped after a few hours. Ratchet, Jazz, Ironhide had all gathered around. Optimus held the glasses. He slid a blue sensor over the lenses. A holographic map of the Earth projected into the air and spun rapidly until it zoomed in on a single location.
"The Hoover Dam," Optimus whispered. "The Allspark is there,” he added.
Ironhide looked at the empty spot where Bumblebee had been. "They took him. We must rescue him,” Ironhide said.
"We will," Optimus promised, his optics glowing with a fierce light. "But first, we must reach the Cube before the Decepticons do,” he ordered.
“Should we tell those other humans?” Jazz asked.
“I have a feeling they are already on their way,” Optimus said.
