Mr. Tycoon's Beloved Wife: The Madam No One Dares to Offend

Chapter 340: I Want To Tell You a Secret

Chapter 340: I Want To Tell You a Secret

Halle was tall and slender. She stood at the door and clenched the bag again and again, and then her gaze fell on the stunned Horton.

"I own a studio. Although my social status is not as high as the director of the hospital or the heir to the Hutt Group, the business is pretty good. Therefore, it is not a problem to support him."

Halle looked at Horton and pursed her lips, "In the future, you might be unable to wear expensive suits, have exquisite dishes, or be spotlighted. But I can promise that every item of your clothes will be cut by me, every dish is made by me, and you are my only love."

No one could replace you!

Halle said calmly. Her every sound and word echoed in the quiet office.

Claus looked at Halle with sarcasm and disdain, but Halle doesn’t care. Her gaze fell on Horton’s face.

She was so nervous that she unconsciously clenched her fist as she waited for Horton’s response.

Halle knew that she was a little immodest and others would even feel she was ridiculous, but Horton could laugh at her or refute her words.

"Horton is the heir of the Hutt Group. What the hell are you? You only own a small studio but you dare to say such words. Horton is a man, so he will not be willing..."

"I am willing."

Claus smiled sarcastically but then he was interrupted by a calm voice.

Halle was pasty, and then she was startled.

"What did you say..."

"I’m willing to give up being an heir and I’m willing to give up the glory in the hospital. From today onwards, I put myself entirely in your hands. But don’t worry. It’s very easy to raise me. I don’t eat too much."

Horton looked at Halle and held her hand tightly, "I’m whole, so I can take care of you as a reward."

Halle was surprised and said, "You... OK. I will raise you in the future, and you will be mine."

Halle smiled shyly.

Horton’s words really touched her. Although she overreached herself and didn’t earn enough now, she did not want Horton to be depressed or stoical in front of his father.

"How ridiculous! Do you know what you are talking about or doing?"

Along with the anger of Claus, there was an ear-piercing sound of porcelain

shattering, and then a series of coughs.

Noticing Claus suddenly was irritated again, Chris comforted him.

"Mr. Hutt, Master Anderson is doing this for your own good. He knew that you married Halle to annoy him, but he is very ill now. Why do you still irritate him? He is your father. How can you do this for such a woman..."

Horton cast a cold glance at Chris, so Chris didn’t dare to carry on speaking.

Although Horton was the illegitimate child, Claus valued him the most.

The Hutt Group was now in a precarious situation. Only the suitable heir married a young lady from a noble family could bring the Hutt Group back to life.

The eldest son of Claus was married, and the youngest son was ignorant and incompetent. The purple attached great importance not only to one’s pedigree but also to his personality.

Horton looked at the increasingly weak Claus and said coldly, "You don’t have to tell others I’m your son and I have never hoped that, but you can’t insult my woman."

Halle stood right behind Horton. Looking at Horton’s back, she was lost in thought.

Although the last words were like the lines in some romance novels and sounded very awkward, she was touched.

She seemed to understand why so many young girls would like to read romantic novels.

Halle pursed her lips. When she stood behind Horton, she seemed to be protected by him.

She was not as insecure as before, nor did she did feel helpless as she was in her first marriage.

Horton cherished her, loved her, and could stand up for her.

She unconsciously put on a faint smile.

"Well, for this woman, you can disown me."

Claus felt better, but his face turned ashen with outrage.

Because Claus was in a critical condition and it would be more dangerous to come out too long, Chris could only advise Claus to return to the ward.

At the door Claus paused. He glanced at Halle and snorted. And then he looked at Horton and said, "I still have time. I believe you will give me a satisfactory answer."

"Don’t waste your precious time. Even if I die, I won’t satisfy you."

Claus was stunned and was about to throw a fit. However, he felt her chest hurt and then fainted.

Chris’s panicked cries for help were heard coming from the corridor. Halle looked worriedly at Horton and said, "Do you want to take a look?"

Although she was unhappy with what Claus had done, she could understand him.

Horton pursed his lips and said lightly, "No. We shouldn’t interfere in his matters."

He said "we", which meant that he did not treat her as an outsider, nor did he cast her out because of this matter.

Halle smiled and said, "It doesn’t matter. I can understand your decision and will support you."

Horton frowned and said, "Don’t guess my decision at will."

He had made his decision very clear just now.

Halle nodded. When feeling that her hand was clenched even more tightly, she felt relieved and said, "Margaret’s matter should be done. I should go to kindergarten to pick up Emily."

Because of what happened last time, Halle sent Emily to another kindergarten that was opposite their house.

She didn’t want Titus to take Emily away again, nor did she want to be misunderstood by Horton again.

After thinking for a moment, Halle whispered, "Margaret gave me a bottle of nice wine today. Tonight, we... No, I mean, I have something to tell you."

When Halle thought of what she would do after drinking, she immediately became embarrassed and explained, "It’s about Emily."

What she wanted to talk about with him was a serious matter, not the craziness that happened after drinking.

Horton smiled. Looking at her blushing cheeks, he had a strong lust.

He lowered his head, unconsciously brushed his lips across her ear, and whispered ambiguously, "Is it about giving a younger baby to Emily? I agree!"

Halle was lost for word.

Did she mean that? How could he distort her?

...

Halle sent a message to Margaret and Riya and then went to the kindergarten to pick up Emily.

The hospital was very busy. As the youngest associate director, Horton would sometimes feel exhausted.

Halle had accompanied Margaret to the hospital but left early. Therefore, Margaret sent a message to Halle and gave her a severe reprimand.

Fortunately, Riya said that she left earlier than Halle.

When Margaret had another target of criticism, Halle dodged a bullet.

Halle took Emily home and bought fresh vegetables and steak in the supermarket.

Halle was busy in the kitchen, while Emily sat on the sofa, looked at Halle, and asked, "Mommy, is today my birthday?"

Halle shook her head, "No, it is a few months later. What birthday present do you want?"

"Is your birthday?"

Halle was stunned for a moment and then shook her head.

Emily pouted unhappily, "So today is Daddy’s birthday."

There were only three people in the house. If it was not Emily’s or Halle’s birthday, it must be Horton’s. No wonder Halle made delicious dishes.

However, Emily had never seen Halle so happy when they celebrated her birthday.

Halle was stunned for a moment and suddenly remembered that she did not even know about Horton’s birthday even if they were married.

It seemed that Horton always knew about her, while she knew very little about Horton.

Halle soon realized that there was his birthday on the marriage license.

When Halle happily took out the marriage license, she found that his birthday was more than a month ago and it was...the day they got married!

Halle’s hand trembled, and then she gradually blushed.

She had forgotten what they had done on the wedding night.

It was his birthday that day. Why didn’t he tell her? Did he mean it?

"Mommy, I don’t prepare a birthday present for Daddy. Will he be angry with me or dislike me?"

"Of course not."

Halle chuckled and went back to the kitchen.

She had forgotten his birthday this year, but she would celebrate it with him every year in the future.

"Although Daddy won’t be angry, I have to prepare a gift for him."

Before Halle could speak, Emily ran to the sofa happily and took something out of her bag.

Halle made some dishes. When she opened the wine and let it breathe, Horton came back.

Emily took the lead to slide down from the sofa and ran over with the gift she had prepared.

"Daddy, happy birthday to you. This is my gift."

Emily had learned origami in kindergarten, so she made a pair of small pants and gave them to Horton.

Horton was stunned and looked at Halle with doubt.

Halle said with embarrassment, "Emily misunderstood that today is your birthday."

Emily had kindly prepared a gift and she did not want to let Emily down, so she could only watch Emily make a pair of pink pants for Horton!

"Emily, have dinner with Daddy."

Halle blushed, took Horton’s jacket, and hung it on the hanger beside her.

"Daddy, wash your hands quickly. Mommy made delicious dishes."

Emily ran back to her seat happily, wagging her feet. And then she looked at Horton expectantly and waited for him to come over to have dinner.

Halle poured two glasses of wine. Noticing Horton came over, she hesitated for a moment and then raised her goblet. "Let’s toast our reunion first."

Halle pursed her lips and was nervous. Before Horton could speak, she grabbed the goblet and drank it all in one gulp.

She did not know how much she could drink. She drank wine twice before, but she all had unpleasant memories. Therefore, she hoped that Horton would not mind too much.

Halle clenched her goblet. When she looked up at Horton and found he did not drink, she hesitated, "Aren’t you going to drink?"

"Mommy, Daddy won’t drink. I will drink with you. Cheers!"

Emily picked up a glass of milk and raised it, gently clinking her glass against Halle’s.

The clink of the goblets made Halle somewhat come to herself. She looked up and found that Horton was looking at her in earnest. From his gold-rimmed glasses, she could see the dim candlelight was swaying. Halle then was at a loss for a moment.

"Halle, do you have something to tell me?"

Horton directly interrupted Halle, "What do you want to say? Shall we talk about it after dinner?"

Horton’s eyes ranged over Emily with tenderness.

With Emily here, if Halle said something that made him too excited, he was afraid that he could not control himself.

It was not good to lose control in front of a child.

Halle was stunned. After a long while, she nodded blankly, "Alright!"

It was hard to make things perfectly clear for a while, and she did not know what his attitude was toward this if she said it.

Halle ate the carefully prepared dinner in a state of preoccupation, so she did not notice that something changed in Horton’s eyes.

After the meal, Halle hurriedly took Emily to bed.

It was good for Emily to sleep first, and then it might be convenient for them to talk. Because if she was interrupted by Emily, she was not sure when she wanted to explain it again.

"Mommy, I haven’t sung the birthday song yet."

Emily was very unwilling to sleep now. There was no birthday cake at the birthday dinner, so she suddenly felt that Horton was so pitiful.

Not only did Halle not prepare a birthday cake, but Emily did not even sing a birthday song for him.

Emily liked Horton, so she had to sing a song for him.

Halle could only wait for Emily to finish singing. After putting Emily to sleep, she found that Horton had taken a bath and was sitting on the bed, waiting for her with affection.

Halle felt that she had drunk too much tonight. Otherwise, how could she let Horton run into the bathroom when she was taking a bath?

Halle and Horton got tangled in the bathroom. She had only taken a quick shower before she was brought to the bed.

By the time Halle thought of what to say, Horton whispered in her ear, which made her mind go blank.

"Are we going to give Emily a younger baby?"

Halle did not respond because she did not want a younger baby but wanted to tell him who Emily’s father was.

By the time Horton finally finished, Halle was so tired that she had no energy. When thinking that she had left Emily’s matter too long, Halle braced herself up and

went to the bathroom to rinse her body.

This time, she had to have a serious talk with Horton without distractions.

Halle turned the tab off. When she looked in the mirror and saw Horton, she turned around in surprise.

Horton was standing at the bathroom door, and his eyes were bright as he looked at her...pills that she had just poured out of the bottle.
