Mr. Tycoon's Beloved Wife: The Madam No One Dares to Offend

Chapter 336: I Believe Whatever You Say

Chapter 336: I Believe Whatever You Say

...

Margaret moved closer slowly as she stared at Halle’s guilty look. She said with an evil smile, "Halle, you look different!"

"What? No! There is nothing on it!"

Halle grabbed her clothes tightly and avoided Margaret’s gaze.

Margaret did not keep asking. She nodded and said with an understanding look, "I know! After all, Horton and you have been married for a month or two. It makes sense. He would be incapable if he hadn’t done something to you."

Halle coughed with embarrassment.

She then smiled awkwardly. She knew only too well how capable Horton was.

If she had to be critical, she would say he was more professional than necessary. He knew well about the human body.

She now somewhat understood how terrible it was to marry a doctor.

He could check almost every bone, even the position of her organs.

Halle had never known so much about her body before. Horton almost checked every part of her body.

Halle felt embarrassed again at the thought of the hickeys beneath her clothes.

But Margaret didn’t notice her awkward expression. She turned to look at Riya.

"Halle has hickeys, but you’re more than that!"

Both Riya and she were single, but it seemed she was the only one being excluded.

Riya was stunned. Seeing Margaret’s gaze, she immediately covered her belly in panic, "Oh, no! I have a stomachache. I have to go first."

Before Margaret could speak, Riya picked up her bag and ran away.

Margaret blinked and frowned at her figure at the door. "Halle, do you feel that she looks guilty?"

Halle stood up and nodded with her bag in hand. "Since the game is over, I should go pick up Emily."

Then Margaret would be the only one left.

Margaret gritted her teeth. When she saw Halle stop and turn around, her eyes lit up. "Halle, I knew you won’t leave me alone."

But Halle said with an apologetic look, "I’m sorry, Margaret. I was in a hurry and forgot my phone and wallet when you picked me up today. I’m afraid you have to pay the bill."

So Halle, who was supposed to treat them left with guilt.

Margaret blinked and looked at Halle, who left without turning back. She felt sad.

She had just annulled her engagement. It was okay with her when the two did not comfort her, but they even left her to pay the bill!

Halle ran across Julian coming out of the elevator when she was out of the club. She was surprised and quickly stepped forward. "Are you here to pick up Margaret?"

Julian’s eyes were surprised, but he remained calm. "Is she here?"

Halle nodded. "In the third private room ahead. Did she quarrel with her family?"

That was why he left home.

Julian said frankly, "She broke off the engagement."

Halle was stunned. She subconsciously asked, "Margaret did that?"

"Did Bruce agree to it?"

No wonder Margaret didn’t want to go back home. She must be afraid that Bruce would scold her if he knew it.

Julian did not answer this. He said, "I said no."

Halle nodded in understanding. Canceling the engagement required deep consideration. After all, it was related to the interests of the two companies. If it happened, the shares of the two companies would have declined.

"I forgot my phone and wallet when Margaret let me out. So can you ask your driver to drive me to the kindergarten?"

Halle glanced at her watch. She would be late if she couldn’t find a car right now.

Julian nodded and told this to his assistant behind. Halle then hurried to the underground garage.

But even so, she failed to pick up Emily. She could only rush home and call Horton.

But Horton did not go to kindergarten.

Emily was only three years old, so her teachers wouldn’t allow someone else to pick up her.

Halle called the teacher and found that Emily had left with a man.

Halle frowned, and her face suddenly darkened. But before she could call the police, Titus called.

"You took Emily away? What are you trying to do?"

Halle shouted with fear. This was not the first time she found Titus was dangerous.

She increasingly felt that he would take away Emily from her at any time.

"Halle, don’t be mad. I just take her out for KFC. If you don’t like it, I will send her

back now."

Halle managed to suppress her anger. Of course, she detested him to do this.

She had thought that the two of them would never have anything to do with each other again. But she didn’t expect that they still had to meet again and again.

Horton hurried back when Halle ran downstairs to pick up Emily.

Before Halle could say something, Horton threw his fist towards Titus.

Soon the two men started to fight. Halle was helpless. But seeing that Titus was at a disadvantage, she was not that worried.

Later, Titus was driven out by community security. The injury on Horton’s face made Halle frown slightly. "You are injured."

Horton wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and picked up Emily. He walked straight to the elevator without giving Halle a look.

Halle pursed her lips and followed.

The elevator was quiet. Emily rest on Horton’s shoulder motionlessly and looked at Halle timidly as if scared by what had happened.

Halle was a little distressed as she said, "Give her to me!"

But Horton moved away from her hand and strode out of the elevator.

Halle could feel Horton was angry. She could only follow him back home. She quickly stopped him when she saw him head towards the room after putting Emily on the sofa.

"Please listen to my explanation. It’s ..."

"Take care of Emily first."

Halle could only stop explaining. She opened her mouth, but only looked at the cautious Emily.

Halle furrowed as she watched Horton enter the bathroom.

She had no idea why Horton got mad at her because of what had happened.

"Mom, did I make you angry?"

The little thing raised her small face and looked at Halle carefully. Her black eyes were bright and moist. Halle felt very sorry for her.

Halle’s heart tightened. She had to coax Emily to sleep first. Horton just finished a bath when she was out of Emily’s room.

He only had a towel wrapped around his body. Halle’s face turned red and she was about to back the room.

"Have you said you want to explain it to me?"

Behind her, Horton suddenly said. He walked to the sofa and sat down. Water was dropping down his fair chest.

He continued with a calm voice, "Do something, not just say something!" As a practical man, he didn’t like a verbal explanation.

...

Halle stood still with a hesitant look. Looking at the calm Horton on the sofa, she was somewhat nervous.

She looked like an awkward child who had done something wrong. Meeting Horton’s urging gaze, Halle quickly said, "OK!" ...

Seeing Horton’s expressionless face, Halle pursed her lips and whispered, "What am I going to explain? Why are you angry?"

Sure enough, with that, she saw Horton’s piercing eyes.

Halle suddenly became nervous. "I don’t know why he did that. I really have no idea about that."

There was nothing between Titus and her. She even deliberately distanced herself from him last rainy day. But she did not understand why.

Why was Titus still so persistent after she had done those things to stay away from him?

Halle was a little absent-minded. She found Horton was already in front of her when she looked up.

Halle subconsciously moved back until her body pressed against the wall. Horton was getting closer. She could only purse her lips, frowning, "Believe it or not. But that’s all I can say."

Horton approached, his fingertips passing across her ears and landing on the wall behind her.

He leaned forward and held Halle tightly in his arms. Then Halle was surrounded by his aura.

The moisture and heat as a result of the bath surrounded her.

His red lips brushed past her ears as he said in a hoarse voice, "I don’t believe it, but you can make me do.

But remember, when people are lying, the emotional sector in their brain will be activated. Their faces will turn red and bloodshot, and their cheeks muscles will forcefully shrink and lengthen their lips. At the same time, the wrinkles around their eyes will appear to form a fake smile, just like what you are doing now!"

Halle thought, "Are you threatening me?"

Halle stopped forcing a smile. She looked away and kept her hair behind her ears.

Horton’s voice rang in her ear again. "When people are thinking, their eyes move around and blink frequently. It shows you’re lying."

"Why don’t you repeat what you just said?"

Halle was lost for word.

She didn’t lie. But why did she feel like she did after hearing his words?

Halle shook her head and pushed away Horton. She replied expressionlessly, "It will remain the same. There is nothing between us."

"I believe you!"

Halle turned around with a surprised look. She stared at Horton’s face, a little stunned.

He ... believed her?

She had thought of a lot of sentences, but he stopped her to say them with her seemingly reasonable words.

But now he believed it just because of those simple words.

Before she could react, Horton pulled her into his arms. His iron arms were around her body. He leaned down, and then his warm chest was pressed against her face.

"Halle, I believe whatever you say."

His deep voice came from above her head, as if with irrepressible affection.

His breath was on the top of her head. Halle frowned and asked, "Were you lying to me?"

She felt that Horton suddenly changed, cunning and foxy, completely different from the gentle, considerate, and noble one she knew before.

Horton lowered his head, his strong arms tightly wrapping around her back. His lips brushed past her cheeks. He put a faint smile. "What I’m doing is answering your question."

Halle could feel his palm that landed on her back was moving along her spine, from her back to the shirt button on her chest.

Halle lowered her head shyly as he kissed her. The atmosphere in the cold room suddenly became hot.

"No matter what he wants to do, you are mine now."

They had the marriage certificate. Even if her ex-husband was unwilling about their divorce, he had to accept the fact. Horton was her husband now, and would always be.

He said this casually, but Halle’s face became even redder. She became even more awkward because of his following behavior.

She didn’t care about human body study, nor did she want to learn from him.

But Horton insisted on teaching her again and again. Luckily, she was freed because Emily woke up and got hungry. Otherwise, she would remain in this embarrassing situation in bed.

In a private room of a club.

After Halle and Riya left, Margaret was fiddling with cards on the table in boredom.

They two both had husbands and now she was left alone. Were they not willing to take her out?

Since that was the case, she couldn’t play cards alone.

With that, she felt that it was so great to be single. She should seize the opportunity from taking pains to break off the engagement and have fun.

Before Orlenna found out that she had done such a thing, she should enjoy herself as much as possible.

The door opened, and Margaret looked up to see the attractive figure in the corridor.

After having his driver to send Halle away, Julian turned around and was splashed with wine by a woman who rushed out of the room.

Even worse was that that woman fell into his arms deliberately. This was a high-end club! Did people often scam others like this?

"Oh, I’m sorry. I made your clothes dirty. I didn’t mean it. I’ll help you wipe it."

The woman put on a seductive smile, pressed her entire body against Julian, and started to twist.

Julian frowned and grabbed her wrist. He pulled her away until she was against the wall.

The woman shouted. She wanted to throw herself into him again, but Julian locked her hands with simple moves. He pressed her against the wall and kept a distance from her.

"You hurt me."

The woman pouted her beautiful red lips and blinked pitifully.

Looking at the outstanding man in front of her, she smiled faintly. "I want your body and your life."

Julian’s deep black eyes were calm. He could see the fear in her eyes. "You’re a bad actress. This will lead you to be banned, and even lose your life."

"Sir, I was just joking."

She moved but failed to leave. She found that the man fix her against the wall without touching her.

As the woman panicked, she turned around and saw Margaret, who snapping photos of her not far away. She looked so excited as if a vicious wife catching her husband in bed and waiting for a divorce!
