Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure

Chapter 618 - 617: Here to Question

Chapter 618 - 617: Here to Question

Early in the morning, with Ethan Grant’s help, Serena Sullivan got ready and neatly dressed, sitting in the wheelchair.

After Ethan Grant moved into Deepwood, most of his daily life matters were handled by himself. He helped Serena get organized and then had to leave for something.

Not long after, she received a call from the First Mrs. Sterling.

"Anything is fine."

On the call, the First Mrs. Sterling asked Serena what she would like to eat.

Mr. Sterling found out about the incident outside the hotel last night.

Mr. Sterling intended to keep it from them, but James Sterling and the others were anxious since Serena and Ethan didn’t come home to sleep.

The old man on that side found out in the morning.

James and Mrs. Sterling slept uneasily the entire night and got up early. The First Mrs. Sterling prepared Serena’s clothing and brought it over, then had the First Mr. Sterling make some food in the kitchen.

After it was ready, she called, fearing that if she called too early, she might disturb Serena’s sleep.

"I asked your dad to make fresh meat buns and simmered white porridge for you, and we’ll bring it over."

"Great!"

Serena happily responded; it’s the first time in years of in and out of the hospital that many people wanted to come see her.

As she spoke, footsteps sounded outside, followed by the sound of a door opening.

This is the VIP ward area. Nurses and doctors would knock a few times before entering, waiting for Serena’s permission.

Obviously, the person coming didn’t care about Serena and wasn’t here with good intentions.

"Mom, I have to go." Serena’s tone didn’t change in the slightest. Seeing the Dowager Kane coming in, she remained calm, smiling as she finished her conversation with the First Mrs. Sterling and then hung up the phone.

When the Dowager Kane came in, seeing Serena smiling while on the phone, it made her even more annoyed.

Her precious grandson was lying in the hospital, yet Serena still had the mood to chat and laugh here.

"Serena!"

She raised her voice as she walked in, tapping the ground rhythmically with her cane.

The old lady had been in a high position for many years, knowing how to induce fear in others!

She deliberately slowed her steps, her eyes coldly fixed on Serena.

But, the outcome was not what she wanted.

Serena’s expression didn’t change, her smile even broadened, seeing through the old lady’s intentions, completely unimpressed by the Kane Family.

"Why has the Dowager Kane come, is there something you need?"

Serena smiled with her mouth closed, knowingly asking.

She pushed herself in the wheelchair toward the window. The Dowager Kane was not to be trifled with; this was the VIP area of the hospital, and if the old lady really wanted to do something to her, she might!

Personal safety first, Serena called Yaya.

Last night, when Ethan Grant took her out, he didn’t let Yaya protect her closely.

Before leaving, Ethan had called Yaya over; she should be on her way.

"Yaya, the Dowager Kane is here."

Holding her phone, Serena said just this one sentence.

The Dowager Kane was stunned for a moment. Serena called someone in her presence, she curled her lips into a sneer, so what if someone came!

"What do you think I’m here for!"

The old lady glanced back at the Kane Family behind her, instructing them to guard the door.

She deliberately came early to talk to Serena and the others before anyone else arrived.

She originally thought she’d encounter Ethan Grant in the ward, not expecting only Serena, which was even better.

"My grandson—Wayne Jennings was severely injured yesterday!"

"How will you explain this to me and The Kane Family?"

"Severely injured?" Serena sneered. Wayne Jennings didn’t care about the lives of others, and now that he was beaten, the Kane Family immediately came knocking.

Ethan Grant was indeed heavy-handed; except for a broken hand, the rest were all surface wounds.
