Chapter 1423 - 1417: Shameless!
Evander Lancaster’s hospital welcomed an unwelcome guest, Vanessa Quinn directly found his office."Evander, let’s have lunch together later."
Looking at the uninvited woman, Evander Lancaster rudely said, "Are you sick or something?"
Vanessa Quinn’s smile froze for a moment, but she quickly regained her composure.
Walking to the opposite side of Evander Lancaster’s desk, she pulled out a chair and sat down leisurely, saying, "After all, we are engaged. So? Is it inappropriate for a fiancee to ask her fiance to have lunch?"
Evander Lancaster disliked women who clung onto him excessively, like sticky candy, despite knowing he wasn’t interested.
His handsome face turned noticeably cold, as he glared at the shameless woman in front of him, Evander was so angry he laughed.
"Vanessa Quinn, are you unable to get married or are you craving some action? Are you desperately in need of a man? How about I pay to find a few cowherds from the nightclub to serve you well!"
"You!" Vanessa was so offended by Evander’s crude words that she blushed, slammed the table and stood up but suddenly sat down again when she saw Evander’s amused, mocking expression. Hmph, if she left in anger, she’d be playing right into his hands!
Vanessa crossed her arms and elegantly crossed her legs, also with an amused and mocking look, she spoke.
"Oh, how considerate of you, knowing you’re not up to par in that aspect but willing to spend money to call cowherds for me. Fine, since you’re so considerate, why not today? Tonight, let’s go to the Red Pavilion together, and you can help me pick a few you find satisfactory."
Vanessa knew well what men cared most about, so she intentionally emphasized Evander Lancaster’s shortcomings. What surprised her was that Evander wasn’t angry at all, instead he agreed with a smile.
"Alright, then let’s meet at the Red Pavilion entrance at eight tonight, see you there."
"Alright, then let’s have lunch together now." Vanessa deliberately replied with a high voice, then glanced at her watch, "It’s just lunch break now, I’ve reserved a spot at Yellow Banner."
Evander’s eyes suddenly sharpened, his voice cold as he reminded, "If I remember correctly, I didn’t agree to have lunch with you."
Vanessa...
She didn’t expect this man to change his mind faster than flipping pages, her face turned cold too, "Evander Lancaster, whether you admit it or not, we are engaged, if you have the guts have the Lancaster Family host another press conference to announce the engagement is off, otherwise..."
At this point, Vanessa curled her lips, her eyes suddenly turning sharp, "Don’t even dream of getting rid of me in this lifetime!"
After she finished, she walked out, stomping her high-heeled shoes.
Watching Vanessa’s flustered and exasperated back, Evander’s lips curved into a meaningful smile.
He had never stooped to manipulations with women, but if the other party kept pressing him, he didn’t mind being a scoundrel for once.
In the evening, after arranging for his little pregnant woman at home, Evander went to meet his appointment.
At eight o’clock sharp, a bright red Maserati stopped at the nightclub’s entrance.
The car door opened, and a red high heel first touched the ground, following the heel upwards was a slim, fair calf.
Evander leaned casually against the revolving glass door, one arm over his chest and a cigarette between his fingers.
Amidst light swirling smoke, Evander inhaled deeply, his eyes slightly narrowed with lips curved in an indifferent yet roguishly charming manner.
Vanessa slammed the car door, visibly startled upon seeing the man standing at the entrance, her breath caught.
