Just sent Willow Lancaster away, Sophia Hamilton stormed in, walking into the office with an imposing manner. Before Evander Lancaster could react, she had already rushed in front of him, snatched the cigarette from his hand and threw it on the ground, stomping it hard with her foot."Little Pepper, what wicked wind are you blowing, who upset you again?"

Evander Lancaster was unfazed by Sophia Hamilton’s antics, and he crossed his arms and leaned back in his chair, watching her with a half-smile.

"Hmph!" After extinguishing the stub of the cigarette, Sophia Hamilton stomped on it again with resentment, then stood with her hands on her hips, glaring at Evander Lancaster, "You even said that you had already dealt with your mom’s issue, so how come she showed up at my house again!"

Evander Lancaster suddenly leaned forward, propping his arms on the sides, slightly furrowed his brows, and asked, "My mom went to your house?"

"What do you think!" Sophia Hamilton rudely retorted, pouting and glaring at Evander Lancaster.

Evander Lancaster was amused by her look of grievance, reaching out to grab her arms and pulled her over, wrapping her hands together at her waist, making her sit on his lap. He lowered his gaze and smiled, "What did my mom say to make you this upset?"

"Hmph! Your mom insulted me!"

"How did she insult you?" Evander Lancaster asked with a smile, able to imagine it, knowing that in his mother’s view, anything that money could solve wasn’t difficult.

"She gave me a check and said it’s a break-up fee for me to leave you!"

Sophia Hamilton felt wronged when mentioning Violet Zimmerman’s break-up fee; she wasn’t a vain girl, and being with Evander Lancaster wasn’t for his money, yet his mother humiliated her in this manner!

Evander Lancaster still smiled and asked, "How much did she give?" The expression on his face remained pleasant.

Sophia Hamilton puffed her mouth and pouted bitterly, "Five hundred thousand!"

"And you? Did you take it?"

"I tore it up in front of your mom!"

"Fool!" Sophia Hamilton finished speaking angrily, and Evander Lancaster simply said the word, playfully flicked her nose with a tone full of affection.

Sophia Hamilton turned her head in confusion, seeing Evander Lancaster smiling and saying, "That’s a meeting gift from mother-in-law to daughter-in-law, five hundred thousand, although not much, but how long would I need to work day and night to earn that much?"

Sophia Hamilton furrowed her brows, blinked a few times, and muttered to herself, "Seems like it, how could I be so stupid, that’s so much money, your mom was willing to give it, it’s not like I asked for it, why did I tear it up..."

Evander Lancaster fondly pinched Sophia Hamilton’s chin and said, "So remember, next time when my mom gives you a check, take however much she gives, save it to buy formula for our baby." Sophia Hamilton’s cheeks heated up, she slapped away his fingers and said disdainfully, "Who wants to have a baby with you!"

"Of course it’s you, is there anyone else?"

Evander Lancaster’s handsome face leaned close to hers, looking at Sophia Hamilton’s shy expression, his heart stirred slightly, then he tilted her chin up and pecked her lips.

"Definitely not, we haven’t even married yet."

Sophia Hamilton said against her heart, but her heart felt sweet; every time he wouldn’t let her take medicine, saying once she was expecting, they’d have the baby since it’s trendy these days to marry when expecting.

Although his mother opposed, he said he’s financially independent and didn’t need to rely on his family, so his family’s objection wouldn’t pose any threat to him.
