Chapter 1130 - 1126: The Husky Who Ruined the Mood
In the bedroom, a cheerful children’s song was playing from the phone on the bedside table, as Sophie Foster, dressed in a loose nightgown, leaned against the bed eating beef jerky.A pregnant woman’s appetite is always astonishingly good, having just had dinner and still feeling a bit hungry again.
Panda Eyes stared at the beef jerky in her hand, licking its long tongue constantly, craving, yet quietly lying beside her.
Sophie Foster fed it a piece of beef jerky, and Panda Eyes immediately raised its head, opened its mouth to grab it, then rubbed its head against Sophie, making a whimpering sound. Sophie fed it another piece, only then did it leave and obediently lay back down.
The bathroom door opened, and Nicholas Croft walked out wearing a bathrobe, having just showered. His damp short hair naturally hung over his forehead, making him appear less lofty and more relaxed than usual.
Seeing Panda Eyes still lounging on his bed, he frowned slightly and exclaimed, "Panda Eyes, go! Back to your room!"
Panda Eyes, with beef jerky still in its mouth, glanced at the male owner, then agilely leapt off the bed, running towards the door. When it reached the door, it lifted one paw, opened the door, and ran out.
Nicholas Croft walked over, closed the door, and locked it to prevent Panda Eyes from sneaking in again late at night.
Panda Eyes had done this before, sneaking into the bedroom while the owners were asleep, jumping onto the bed, and sleeping until dawn.
Sophie Foster ate another piece of beef jerky. When Nicholas Croft came over and lifted the covers to get into bed, she placed the snack bag aside and eagerly snuggled into his embrace.
"Daddy~ Hug me~"
"Alright, Daddy will hug..." Nicholas Croft cooperatively embraced the chubby girl squeezing into his arms, giving her forehead a kiss.
Since Sophie Foster became pregnant, her weight soared. Nicholas used to hold her like a child, requiring no effort at all. Now, not only because of her weight, but also to take care of the baby in her belly.
"Daddy, you haven’t given the baby a name yet," Sophie Foster looked up at Nicholas Croft with a small face. Nicholas kissed her pouting lips again, saying amusingly, "You like acting like a baby so much, just call her Baby."
Sophie Foster blinked, her slightly furrowed brows a bit troubled. Her round face, due to weight gain, was even fuller than her previous baby fat.
"Then what about the baby’s formal name? Should it be Genevieve Croft?"
"Sure, if you like it, go ahead." Nicholas Croft said good-naturedly; a name was just a label to him. He didn’t mind what his baby was called, as long as his wife was happy and they stayed elegant.
"Hmm..." Sophie Foster looked elsewhere, tightly furrowing her brows as if thinking, murmuring to herself while humming, "Genevieve Croft, Genevieve Croft, Sophie and Lara’s baby, sounds pretty nice... Hmm, once the baby is born, that’s the name!"
Finally, Sophie Foster nodded decisively. Nicholas Croft looked at her amusingly, lifted her from his embrace, and they both leaned against the bed-front, "Alright, don’t dwell on it. The baby won’t be born until next year. For now, think about what you want as a gift; less than two months to New Year!"
"A gift..." Mentioning a gift, Sophie Foster bit her finger thoughtfully, took a long time, then returned with slightly resentful eyes, saying, "Nicholas, we’ve been married for quite a while, but you haven’t taken me back to see your parents."
Nicholas Croft humorously raised a brow, "You want to meet my parents?"
"Yes," Sophie Foster nodded, still looking a bit resentful, "I haven’t met them yet; I don’t know if they’ll like me."
Nicholas Croft wrapped his arms around Sophie, "Silly, my parents will definitely like you."
"How do you know?" Sophie Foster turned her head, asking skeptically, Nicholas’s eyes filled with warm affection as he looked at her.
"You’re so adorable; anyone who sees you will like you. This New Year, I’ll take you back home."
Sophie Foster said no more, upon hearing about going home to meet the in-laws during New Year, her pink lips curved up.
Recently, the home rest has been great. Aunt Wang follows the nutritionist’s recipes daily, making Sophie plump and fair. Her small face also radiates healthy pink, like a porcelain doll, with skin so delicate.
Nicholas Croft’s heart stirred slightly, he pinched her chin with his slender fingers and kissed her.
His lowered gaze met her lips responding willingly, soft, slippery, sweet. The touch in his palm felt more luscious than before; men, after all, prefer curvy women.
"Lara, lie down..." Nicholas Croft guided Sophie to lie down with him on the bed, kissing her gently, turning her body to face away, fearing it might harm the baby during their loving movements.
"Woof woof..." Amidst their passionate moment, a sound came from outside the bedroom door, Panda Eyes, whimpering and scratching the door.
"That naughty thing!" Nicholas Croft cursed through gritted teeth, a mixture of frustration and amusement, locking the room was meant to prevent its intrusion during intimate moments, unaware this animal couldn’t grasp the situation.
"Nicholas... it’s Panda Eyes..." In a dazed state, Sophie Foster reminded, Nicholas didn’t stop, "Ignore it!"
Outside the door, Panda Eyes continued scratching, seemingly determined not to leave unless it got inside. Its whimpering became louder, finally stepping back a little to bark directly at the door.
Sitting on the couch watching TV, Aunt Wang heard the barking, rushed upstairs, upon seeing the husky barking at the owner’s bedroom, she hurried over, saying, "Oh my ancestor, Mister and Miss are already asleep, stop barking, don’t wake Miss up!"
The husky didn’t listen to Aunt Wang at all, seeing her approaching, burying its head in a whimper before darting into the corridor, avoiding her and barking from a distance.
In the corridor, human and dog standoff ensued. Aunt Wang, older now, struggled as the husky refused to cooperate, tussling for minutes without managing to take the husky away. Inside the bedroom, Nicholas Croft finally couldn’t stand it any longer; in such an atmosphere, there was no way to continue, reluctantly stopping, pulling on his bathrobe, and opening the door.
Seeing the male owner emerging from the bedroom, Panda Eyes scrambled over, shaking its head and wagging, making pleasing whimpering sounds.
"Sir, I’m sorry I couldn’t watch it carefully, waking you up." Aunt Wang apologized, "Please continue your rest, I’ll take it downstairs and lock it in my room."
"No need, Aunt Wang, you go rest, leave it to me." Nicholas understood that even locking Panda Eyes up wouldn’t quieten it; this little rascal only listened to his wife.
Right then, Nicholas Croft slightly regretted not getting a female pet at first, maybe it wouldn’t be so clingy to his woman.
