A group of five people, yet they only took Ye Xinluo. Clearly, they were after this little woman.

The car drove on, passing a particularly steep section, causing the whole vehicle to jolt violently. Ye Xinluo lost her balance and fell towards Beichen Rui.

Due to being bound, Ye Xinluo almost fell to the ground.
Hearing the commotion, Beichen Rui furrowed his brow and spoke up, "Careful, don’t let her fall."
Hearing his words, a man with a scar on his face chuckled, drew a short knife from his waist, gently patted Rui’s face, and spoke in a rogue tone, "I didn’t expect you to be so tender-hearted."
Turning around, he spoke in a cold voice to the person next to him, "What are you standing around for? Get them inside."
Ye Xinluo and Beichen Rui were brought into a room and thrown roughly to the ground, gasping in pain.
In the darkness, Beichen Rui’s voice sounded, "Are you okay? Did you get hurt?"
"No." Gritting her teeth, Ye Xinluo tried to speak in a normal tone.
Beichen Rui shifted over to her, and the two sat back-to-back.
"Beichen Rui, I’m the one who got you into this. You didn’t have to come," Ye Xinluo said apologetically.
Upon hearing her words, Beichen Rui smiled, a far cry from his usual aloof demeanor, appearing much more approachable, "I said I was worried you’d be scared alone."
Upon hearing this, both of them smiled.
About ten minutes later, a man’s voice came from outside the door, seemingly on a phone call.
"Boss, I’ve brought the person you wanted. When will you come over to see them?" the scar-faced man said respectfully into the phone.
After a while, a woman’s voice came from the other end of the phone, "Watch her carefully, don’t let her escape. I’ll be over soon."
The scar-faced man was stunned, completely caught off guard that the other person was a woman. It took him a while to recover before he chuckled, "Alright, alright, don’t worry, she won’t get away. Oh, about the money..."
He chuckled greedily, his covetous nature exposed.
"Rest assured, everything I promised will be yours, provided you let me see the person." The woman’s voice came through the receiver, making the scar-faced man’s heart itch.
...What a lovely voice! But, who could imagine someone with such a beautiful voice would be so ruthless.
