Upon hearing this, the man waved his hand, "It’s nothing, you want to go out, right? The path is over there."
He pointed in a direction, and after speaking, turned and left.

He had merely gone to look at something on a shelf, and when he turned around, they had disappeared. Fortunately, he had found them now.
