Chapter 1043: I Didn’t Break the Rules!

Chapter 1043: I Didn’t Break the Rules!

Speaking of Xia Yuan, Qin Yin couldn’t help but laugh, "Honestly, I find Xia Yuan’s sense of direction so adorable. The way she’s all muddled and her face shows a clueless expression is just irresistibly cute!"

Ye Xinluo also wondered what kind of person would be with someone like Xia Yuan.

Out of nowhere, the image of Xu Kun popped into her mind, and she laughed.

Mo Han safely drove Ye Xinluo home before leaving the villa.

Back in the bedroom, feeling a bit sleepy, she went straight to bed.

When she woke up, it was already past five in the afternoon. She got out of bed, went to the bathroom to freshen up, and then left the room.

As soon as she reached the living room, Jingxi ran in from outside, looking at her suspiciously, "Why did you run in from outside? Where did you go?"

The little guy hid the phone behind his back, "Nothing, Mommy. It’s just the school’s assignment. They said we have to make handicrafts, so I went out to find some inspiration."

Ye Xinluo looked at him skeptically, stepping forward to take the phone he had hidden behind his back, her face stern as she said, "Jingxi, didn’t we agree you can only play on your phone for twenty minutes a day? And only after you’ve finished your homework!"

Jingxi immediately stood at attention, "Report, Mommy! I’ve finished all my other homework; only the handicrafts are left. I just took the phone to snap some pictures of flowers so I can find inspiration. And from now on, it’s been less than ten minutes, so I’m within the agreed time, not breaking the rules!"

Looking at her articulate son, Ye Xinluo was momentarily speechless and after a brief silence, she ruffled his hair and handed the phone back to him, "Alright, hurry upstairs and do your homework!"

"Okay, bye Mommy."

He ran back to his room, locking the door, before lighting up the phone screen which still showed a call in progress... with the name "Tongtong" marked.

"Tongtong, are you still there? Mommy’s not around now! That was close, good thing she didn’t unlock the screen or I’d be busted!"

A while ago, he was taking pictures in the yard when he received a call from Jing Tong. Planning to answer it in his room but reluctant to hang up, he negotiated with her to stay quiet until he was indoors to talk.

Unexpectedly, he ran into Ye Xinluo.

Luckily, she didn’t light up the screen. Otherwise, he really wouldn’t know how to explain.

"I’m still here... Auntie called me for dinner... I have to hang up now, Jingxi... bye-bye."

"Bye-bye..."

He hung up the phone and, feeling quite good, lay on the bed completely forgetting about the handicraft.

Ye Xinluo walked into the kitchen, seeing someone busily working, she went over and hugged his waist from behind.

Beichen Rui’s body stiffened slightly, turning his head to look at her, "Awake? Go wash your hands, dinner’s almost ready."

Ye Xinluo let go of him, just about to turn around when she noticed something stuck to his left hand’s back, frowned and asked, "Are you not feeling well?"

Beichen Rui was stunned for a moment, following her gaze, "Got a bit of a cold and fever, went to the hospital for an infusion. Didn’t want to pass it to you, so I didn’t tell you."

"You don’t usually like..."

Before she finished her sentence, Beichen Rui directly tore off the thing on the back of his hand, "Hurry and wash your hands, get ready to eat."

"Oh." She nodded, then asked again, "Are you feeling better now? Why are you cooking if you’re unwell?"
