Moon Touched

They have been resting and sleeping for almost four weeks. The warriors and protectors have kept themselves busy keeping the pack safe and building up the pack lands. A lot has been accomplished since the wolves and other supernaturals are out of danger and regaining their strength. The new fire pit and outside eating area were completed, two more pack houses were built, and forty cabins were built.

The two new pack houses were added to the original, so the building looked like a giant half-square. The thought was that each alpha couple would have their own pack house, but the twins would still be close enough to each other. With them attached to one another, it looked like a giant mansion. The couples could go from house to house easily and without leaving the building. The new schools would allow all the children to get an education in the ways of the werewolves, humans, and other supernatural. Not to mention the normal reading, math, and writing. The next buildings to be built would house those that the Night Whispers pack would rescue from inhumane and abusive situations.

Those who need protection and a place of peace would be brought here to heal and find their way. The rooms themselves will be bright, cheerful, and calming. Another medical building is being built to ensure enough medical equipment and personnel to help those rescued live a better life and learn to trust again. If the ones who come here have no one or nowhere to go, they will be welcome here. They will be allowed to choose the life they wish to live. It will be up to them and their decision only. No one will influence anyone brought here for sanctuary.

The gods had figured that the pack would not focus on certain ages, sexes, or species; they would help anyone who needed them. Bob stood surveying all that had been accomplished the past month and hoped the Alphas and Lunas would be proud. For the hundredth time, he wondered when they would all awaken so they could begin the new life ahead of all of them. Bob had begun putting a team of elite warriors together, with the help of Hyperion, and sent them out on recon missions. They are beginning with the pack that sold Luna Katia to Alpha Thomas. Hyperion said, most likely, she was not the first young wolf they had sold, and she was not the last. The problem was that this particular wolf was something more and had very powerful people who loved her, and that pack would find out exactly what they had brought down on themselves. Bob would be forever grateful to Alpha Mark for taking him in when he had nowhere to go and was trying to stay one step ahead of his maker and abuser. He worries daily that the evil who made him will find his way here and wipe out the entire pack for helping him.

Cronos suddenly stood next to Bob and smacked him on the back. "Stop worrying about the P.O.S. that made you. Even if he found his way here, he would be destroyed before he could do any damage."

"I know, but I still don't want him near my new family," Bob sighed sadly. You don't know how truly sadistic and evil he is."

Cronos gave an evil laugh, sending shivers down the vampire's spine. He should not have been able to feel it, but everything was different in this pack amongst these wolves and gods. "Your maker has no idea what he will encounter if he decides to mess with you or this pack," Cronos spit out with a vengeance.

Bob received a mind link as the two headed back to the pack house, sheltering the sleeping alphas and lunas. One of the elite teams had returned with information from the outside world. He linked the captain back through the blood bond of the pack, "Meet us in Alpha Nathan's office. We are heading there now."

As the two men entered the office, they noticed Hyperion, Crius, the warrior captain, and his second were already there. Bob approached the two warriors and said, "Welcome back, Mick, welcome back, Birdy." Mick was the captain of the elite warriors sent to Katia's pack, who found her and sold her to Alpha Thomas. He was a werewolf who had seen at least two centuries and found his mate about three years ago. He was tall with orange-red hair that hung to his shoulders when not strapped back with a leather thong. He had a handsome, angular face covered in freckles and always wore a light dusting of a beard and mustache. He was one of the few who had chosen to stay as he was because his mate could not go through the change. Still, he was huge even in the werewolf world. Bob wondered where the man found clothing that fit. Standing next to Mick was his second in command and mate. She was called Birdy and was tall with a leaner muscular build than her mate. Birdy was a warrior from the elf realm and chose to stay here with her mate. She had shimmering white hair and silver eyes, and although she was tall, like most of her race, she only reached Mick's shoulders. The couple worked together in perfect tandem with one another. You have never seen one without the other, and they have never turned from any challenge or command.

Hyperion had sat in his son-in-law's chair behind the desk while Cronos and Crius sat on the sofa against the wall across from the desk. Bib motioned to the loveseat beside the couch, "Have a seat, please. Do the two of you need anything to eat or drink? I know you have had a long journey."

Both shook their heads in unison in the negative as Birdy answered for them, "No, sir. We are fine and have already taken our nourishment this morning."

Hyperion interjected when he ordered, "Report then." Mick tensed at the abruptness in Hyperion's voice and took his mate's hand. Hyperion saw the wolf stiffen and immediately put him at ease, "I apologize for my terse words, but I am curious to know if our plan is working."

Mick grinned while informing his Alpha Luna's father, "Better than we could have ever planned. The rogues living in this area have spread the word of the Snow Moon, Moon Touched, and Starlight packs coming together and forming one big pack, and how this angered not only the council but also the Moon Goddess. The story goes that the Moon Goddess destroyed all three packs and parklands."

Birdy picked up the story from here: " The rogues have told how they looked for the packs and their lands, how they are just gone, with no evidence that they ever existed. Nothing but forest where they once lived." She smiled at the gods and single vampire and added, "The packs involved in the illegal activities concerning individuals of all species think the Moon Goddess has done them a favor. Now, there is no other pack close enough or big enough to stop them and the illegal activity they are involved in."

"What idiots! Yet they are not worried about how their actions may anger the Moon Goddess, and she could do the same to them." Cronos pointed out.

"No, my lord, they do not seem to think they are doing anything wrong. Birdy and I were able to get on Night Shade pack lands. They are a sick and sadistic pack of wolves. The things they do to those believed to be weak and of unpure blood are disgusting. I do not know how our Alpha Luna survived her childhood there," Mick said.

Hyperion stood and stared out the window, saying, "Do not fret; Katia will be avenged for what that pack did to her. When Nathan awakes and hears what they have done and are still doing, he will call for those who are guilty to be annihilated."

Bob's head whipped around at Hyperion's words: "Alpha must do things according to the laws we will live by. If he acts on his emotions, he will be no better than any other power-hungry leader."

Sighing, Hyperion agreed, "I know. It is just so frustrating what all my children have dealt with, especially my two youngest. I have to remember that our ways are no longer the answer. We are here to assist, guide, and teach the mistakes we made."

Mick stood, bringing Birdy with him, "I know the prophecied wolves are still sleeping while the changes are finalized in their bodies; I think we should begin phase two of the Night Whispers plan."

Birdy nodded in agreement, "It is time for the ghost stories to begin and be spread. Stories of a pack of wolves that live nowhere but everywhere, who rescue the weak, broken, and unchampioned, taking those they rescue away with them and disappearing with no clues to who they are or where they came from."

Three gods and one vampire nodded in agreement. "Let the fun begin. Go lay the groundwork to make the stories true when our wolves awake," Hyperion ordered.

Cronos snickered, "This is going to be so much fun. I am glad Gaia is letting me loose to help lend credence to the stories."

"What good are the stories without those needed to make them come true?" Bob wondered out loud.

Mick, Birdy, and Cronos filed out of the room as Hyperion and Crius clapped the faithful vampire on his shoulders, "No worries, Bob. They will awaken when it is their time, too. Those who have harmed so many innocents better beware their time is coming."
