Chapter 864: Alice Sutton Is Caught by Mark Again...
It’s just that Arnold dared not open his eyes, dared not open them in front of Mark.Arnold was afraid, afraid that he would still not see after opening his eyes, and even more afraid that Mark would rush onward even more recklessly once he found out.
Listening to Mark’s light breathing, Arnold slowly opened his eyes.
Yet nothing had changed; Arnold’s world was still pitch black.
Arnold waved his hand in front of his eyes, but he couldn’t catch even a shadow...
The moonlight in the forest was bright.
Under the moonlight, the girl leaned against a tree, slightly raising her hand and looking up at the starry sky.
Her clothes were tattered, but they couldn’t hide her serene and beautiful aura; she was still as beautiful as a forest fairy.
At this moment, the fairy lightly parted her red lips and slowly spoke, "Will I ever see the starry sky again? See the colorful world, see Mr. Sutton’s charming face again?"
No one answered.
The fairy curled her lips, a bitter smile appearing on her delicate little face, "Probably not, right? So, Arnold, if we escape this forest, should we give up?"
The next morning, Mark woke up and continued to lead Arnold toward the forest’s edge.
This was now the third day Mark and Arnold had been in this forest, and they still hadn’t made it out, but they encountered an old acquaintance in the forest.
This person was none other than Alice Sutton, who had parachuted into this jungle even before Mark and Arnold.
"Help, save me..." A weak voice came.
At the moment, Alice Sutton was pitifully hanging from a towering tree, and seeing Mark and Arnold passing below, she cried for help, "Laurant Foster, save me..."
Mark looked up, surprised to see Alice Sutton, "What? I thought you had long escaped, how did you end up in such a miserable state?"
Alice Sutton glared at Arnold beside Mark, speaking through gritted teeth, "Why am I like this, don’t you know?"
Arnold looked up in the direction of Alice Sutton, speaking coldly, "I thought you were dead, didn’t expect you to be so lucky!"
"But it doesn’t matter, you’ll die all the same now!"
Alice Sutton glared at Arnold, speaking decisively, "It was indeed you who tampered with my parachute!"
"Ha!" Arnold sneered coldly, "Holding me hostage always comes at a cost! Moreover, how could I give a scum like you a chance to escape safely?"
Alice Sutton gritted her teeth in anger, her venomous eyes fixed on Arnold; if conditions allowed, she would kill that kid immediately.
This kid dared to tamper with his parachute!
If not, how would he have fallen from mid-air and ended up hanging from this towering tree?
Forced by circumstances, Alice Sutton had to withdraw his murderous intent.
He looked at Mark, speaking coldly, "Laurant Foster, haven’t you always wanted to catch me? If you save me now, I’ll..."
"Boss, don’t save him!" Arnold looked toward Mark, speaking earnestly, "A scum like him should die here."
Then, afraid that Mark would disagree, Arnold followed up, "If we save him now, who knows if he will turn and bite us the next moment."
"Impossible!" Alice Sutton looked at Mark, speaking quickly, "I’ve been hanging here for three days, even if I wanted to do something to you, I reckon I don’t have the strength! Besides, I was injured falling from high up, I’m no match for you."
Arnold snorted coldly, "You’re always cunning and deceitful, who knows if you’re telling the truth!"
Alice Sutton ignored Arnold, looking at Mark and speaking, "Laurant Foster, aren’t you a cop? Before a lawful verdict, you can’t kill the innocent!"
"Ha!" Arnold sneered, "You have a mental illness, right? Not saving you is killing innocents? Who said that?"
After saying this, without waiting for anyone to speak, Arnold continued, "I tell you, even if you die here, it’s your own bad luck, what’s it got to do with us? But if you’re lucky enough not to die, we’ll send someone to get you when we safely leave this place."
Alice Sutton glared venomously at Arnold, cursing fiercely, "Damn kid, shut up! If not for you, would I be hanging here?"
After speaking, Alice Sutton looked at Mark again, continued saying, "Laurant Foster, if I die, it’s the fault of that kid beside you!"
Seeing that Mark was unmoved, Alice Sutton continued, "You must know that I’ve already surrendered, I’m asking for help, you can completely take me back, yet you choose to let me die..."
Without waiting for Alice Sutton to finish, Mark spoke coldly, "I can save you down."
After speaking, Mark’s icy gaze on Alice Sutton, he added, "But before that, there’s something I need to do."
Having been hanging for three days, without a drop of water, Alice Sutton spoke quickly, "Do whatever you want, as long as you save me down."
Mark looked at Alice Sutton, smiling ambiguously.
Then Mark removed everything he was carrying and placed it all on the ground.
Hearing Mark’s actions, Arnold became anxious, "Boss, he’s definitely a snake ready to bite, if we save him now..."
"Don’t worry, it’s fine." Mark spoke calmly, ruffling Arnold’s short hair, "In my hands, he won’t be able to stir any waves."
After speaking, Mark took only a dagger and started climbing the tree where Alice Sutton was hanging.
When Mark reached Alice Sutton, he efficiently drove that dagger fiercely into Kenny’s thigh.
"Ah!" Alice Sutton screamed miserably, glaring venomously at Mark, "Laurant Foster, what the hell are you doing?!"
"Nothing much, just ensuring our journey’s safety." Mark spoke indifferently, then stabbed Kenny’s leg again, "And someone who hurts my person will always pay the price!"
"Mark, you’re a fucking lunatic!" Alice Sutton shouted, looking down at Arnold, threateningly speaking to Mark, "You better let me down now, otherwise that kid’s eyes will definitely go blind!"
Mark’s eyes darkened as he looked at Alice Sutton, "What is that powder? Do you have the antidote?!"
"Hmph!" Alice Sutton snorted coldly, "Haven’t you already guessed? That’s poison powder, without my antidote, that kid will be blind for life."
