Miss Witch’s Devotion Has Gone… Twisted

Chapter 320: The Maids

Chapter 320: The Maids

"Help me deliver this back."

Loren tied a note to the leg of the raven that Movila had transformed into, instructing her to deliver the note to the maids at home and have them move over.

They didn't know about the witches, and Loren had no intention of telling them, so he didn't have Movila deliver a verbal message, opting to send a letter instead.

Anyway, with Movila's speed, it would reach them very quickly.

They just needed to come themselves; furniture and such were unnecessary. The King had already prepared new furniture when getting Loren's new house ready.

As for other things, Loren planned to personally take Scarlett back to fetch them. Loren had quite a few things that couldn't see the light of day. Perhaps exposure wouldn't affect Loren too much, but it would cause some trouble regardless, so Loren didn't intend to let others touch his belongings.

The raven nodded and flew into the sky.

Not long after Movila left, the academy delivered the equipment Loren had requested, and Loren had just chosen a suitable room to serve as his laboratory.

...

"Hurry up and pack. The Master wants us to rush to the Royal Capital. He has a new house for us there, and we'll have to move there from now on."Seraphina took the letter from Loren carried by the raven's claw and relayed its contents to the other maids.

"The Royal Capital... When my parents were alive, they desperately tried to establish themselves in the Royal Capital, but in the end, they worked themselves to death without saving up much money..."

Hearing Seraphina's words, Corolla felt quite emotional.

She didn't have many belongings either: a few changes of clothes, some personal items, and the wages she had saved up during this period.

Room and board were covered at Loren's place, and Corolla had few expenses, so she had saved up quite a bit of money during this time. At this rate, in another five or six years, she could probably buy a decent house in the Royal Capital.

But now, Corolla had lost her desire for a house. In her view, the best outcome was being able to serve as Loren's maid for a lifetime.

"Thank goodness the Master remembers us. If he abandoned us for that long again like before, someone would be secretly crying again."

Flossie packed her luggage, her words laced with sarcasm directed at Seraphina.

This time, she was absolutely certain her expression hadn't betrayed any flaws. Flossie had excellent control over her facial muscles. She was even sure Loren couldn't detect anything from her expression either, just like Mirrorheart.

"Weren't you also sad? You were the most upset during that time, weren't you?"

"Sigh... We've been living together day and night for so long now, we've practically become girlfriends. Isn't that what good girlfriends do, share their hearts? Why must you hide your true feelings?"

Flossie forcefully crammed a pile of belongings several meters high into a suitcase, all while continuing to bicker with Seraphina, leaving Corolla utterly dumbfounded.

"You're like that kind of kid who eggs others on to chase the person they themselves like, to cover up their own sensitive and insecure heart."

Seraphina's luggage contained only a few clothes and daily necessities, nothing else.

Flossie didn't reply further. She could now be certain that Seraphina's earlier claim of being able to read minds was likely not a lie.

She could also see that Loren's circle was full of hidden talents, with all sorts of extraordinary individuals constantly appearing. She wasn't the only special one, and Seraphina was definitely not simple either.

...

After packing, they headed to the Church. The journey was quite dangerous, so Loren had specifically emphasized that they should seek out the Church and have them dispatch a few Scarecrows to escort them.

The one sent to escort them was a female Scarecrow. There weren't many of them, and their luggage was light, so the Church only sent one carriage.

They sat in the carriage, which sped along, quickly leaving the city district.

Everyone had been silent initially, but just as the carriage fully entered the wilderness, Seraphina suddenly spoke.

"Did any of you bring weapons?"

"I have a gun here..."

Corolla pulled out a handgun from under her skirt. A holster was strapped to her thigh, hidden well enough there without affecting her appearance.

Loren had equipped them with firearms and Enchanted Bullets when they first arrived. Although the maids didn't have much combat prowess, these firearms were enough to handle most situations.

"I brought bombs."

Flossie showed Seraphina her empty palm, then directly produced the four Kings from a deck of playing cards.

"Are these bombs enough? If not, I have more."

Flossie shook her hand, and more sets of four playing cards fell from her grasp, indeed forming various bomb combinations.

"Stop fooling around."

Seraphina grabbed Flossie's wrist. At that moment, the cards in Flossie's hand transformed into a single Joker.

"Sorry, I accidentally took your ID card..."

"Do you have anything else? Preferably melee weapons."

Seraphina ignored Flossie and continued asking.

"I have a sword!"

Hearing Seraphina, Flossie pulled a long balloon from her small shoulder bag, blew it up on the spot, and used it to twist a balloon sword for Seraphina.

"Want to try stabbing yourself with it? What if this thing actually works?"

"No need."

Seraphina didn't attempt it, simply taking the balloon from Flossie's hand.

Corolla rubbed her eyes, unable to believe what she was seeing. How had the usually reliable Seraphina been assimilated by Flossie?

Unlike Seraphina's trusting attitude, Flossie's expression turned grim. She once again negated her previous speculation.

The remaining time passed in silence. They didn't engage in any further conversation.

Corolla guessed they might encounter some danger soon. Her hands gripped the pistol tightly as she vigilantly watched their surroundings.

Nothing happened all the way until the carriage arrived at its destination.

Seeing Loren's new house, Corolla finally breathed a sigh of relief. The moment the carriage stopped, she sprinted to the villa's entrance. She knew that as long as she saw Loren, nothing could harm her.

Flossie followed closely behind Corolla. Seraphina, however, wasn't in a hurry to see Loren. Instead, she first sought out the Scarecrow who had escorted them.

"Miss Scarecrow, thank you for escorting us here."

She glanced around. The carriage happened to be blocking the Scarecrow from view, with Loren's property wall on the other side. No one could see this spot.

"It's no trouble, I..."

The balloon sword pierced the Scarecrow's throat, cutting off her words. Without hesitation, Seraphina jerked the balloon sword upward, splitting the Scarecrow's head open.

"So this is why you wanted a weapon?"

Flossie suddenly appeared behind Seraphina, trying to startle her, but Seraphina showed no reaction, maintaining her smile.

"This is a Dreamwalker. They intended harm against the Master Mentor."

Multicolored blood continuously flowed from the corpse's wounds, confirming its identity.
