Chapter 1414 76: Heading to the Eye of the Storm (Part 2)
This process kept repeating, the third day, the fourth day, the fifth day, finally our invincible Black Songstress grew weary. This was the first major setback Tilan faced in battle; the prolonged fighting turned the shining genius into a quantifiable data symbol. As long as they piled on numbers endlessly, they would eventually wear her down.
Just as Tilan felt she couldn't hold on, prepared to enter a resting state, Celestia unexpectedly arrived, accompanied by hundreds of levitating giant whales covering the sky.
These 'Arbitrators' levitating giant whales are the creations of the Silver Wings; their massive bodies are filled with various supplies and numerous combat mechanical units. As they shuttle through the atmosphere, they emit a deep, whistling sound.
"I'm back, Tilan." She fluttered her snow-white wings, passed through the sky, and landed by Tilan's side, lifting the weary girl up, then raised her hand to command, the levitating giant whales in the sky fired their cannon simultaneously, numerous particle beams pierced the atmosphere, shattering the approaching mechanical flying cockroaches.
Looking up at those massive figures slowly flying overhead, Tilan couldn't help but speak: "Are these all creations of the Silver Wings?"
"Yes, they are combat units from the Silver Bird Court where I'm from. I spent quite some effort convincing the city lord sister to let me command them here for support." Celestia held Tilan's hand, standing on high ground, and gazed towards the distant horizon, where the mechanical cluster was still gathering.
In the battles that followed, there was no need for the two of them to take action. These levitating Arbitrators destroyed numerous mechanical units present.
Afterwards, Celestia recounted the events over the past few days.
She first returned to the Silver Bird Court to rest and then consulted a wealth of materials in the library, searching for the origin of her own species, but unfortunately found nothing, as it was hard to understand events before the birth of their species.
Later, Celestia learned through the Silver Bird Court's observational equipment about the ground world's predicament, followed by the difficult negotiations with the city lord for support.
"Although the city lord sister finally agreed to my request, she said this support can only be used to cover your retreat and not directly attack the mechanical cluster's base camp, to avoid triggering a larger conflict."
"That's fine, having someone to help cover the retreat is already very fortunate." Tilan nodded gratefully.
With these Arbitrators sharing the burden, her pressure was greatly reduced. Over the next two days, she only needed to occasionally take action to maintain the most crucial battles to ensure the safe retreat of the Chasing Star Covenant members. During these days, she gradually recognized Celestia's combat prowess. Although the other appeared modest, Tilan could see this angelic girl was not merely a weak individual who only studied and read.
Golden strands of light condensed, forming the outline of a sword edge, then the glass-like sword body gradually crystallized, transparent and solid, easily piercing the mechanical body in close proximity.
Celestia's movements in battle were swift, and her wings were not just for show. Paired with various spell abilities, this set of wings allowed her to leverage force and change posture well in the air, and as a member of the transcendent races, these wings also enabled the Silver Wings to better absorb Aijieka particles and manipulate Magic Power. This clearly was one of the highest masterpieces of sixth-generation gene editing technology.
Thus, with Celestia's assistance, the transfer concluded perfectly. Apart from a few transcendent beings staying in Redstone City, the residents moved entirely into the mountains, traversing the tunnels excavated by the Fede Alliance, entering the internal railway, and headed relentlessly toward the distant Northern Realm.
On the eighth day, now leisurely, the two walked through the empty town, as if performing a farewell ceremony, browsing this newly constructed town one last time.
"When I first arrived, this was still a small hillock on the prairie, and I met my first few companions there." Tilan reminisced.
"Was Tilan and Ores forced to land on this planet together?" Celestia asked somewhat curiously.
"Yes, but Ores was injured and couldn't remember many things." Tilan expressed some regret, but then thought this might not be bad; having gone through that fierce battle, if Ores remembered everything, there might have been severe psychological shadows left behind.
"What was the world Tilan grew up in like?" Celestia wanted to know for the first time about the outside world.
"The planet I grew up on is roughly a post-decline industrial planet, and I lived deep in an underground city when I was young, an industrial city established during the wartime era..." Tilan recalled as she recounted.
Listening to Tilan's narration, Celestia found it fresh but sympathetic, indeed the predicament of original humans was not well, probably struggling to survive amidst the conflicts of many Black Suns.
"...Later, when I entered high school, this grim life slowly ended, and everything started to improve." Tilan trod lightly on the abandoned wooden box by the roadside, as if balancing on a tightrope.
After all, there were no outsiders now, no need to worry much about maintaining image, the playful nature of a young girl once again emerged in her.
Watching Tilan's slightly childish actions, Celestia felt like laughing but managed to hold it in well. However, she thought Tilan was a very special girl, sometimes particularly serious and melancholy, like a scholar immersed in the long historical cycle of civilization constantly seeking solutions, yet sometimes just like a regular girl, enjoying sleep and laziness, and loving her favorite foods.
