Chapter 1399 - 70: The Base Beneath the Extinct Volcano (Part 2)
"This sounds feasible..." Tilan mused, though hope was still faint, it was better than having no method at all.
"Do you know where exactly?"
"Well, I have a few suspected locations." As she spoke, Celestia extended her hand, a small metallic ball floated up, projecting a three-dimensional map of the planet with several marked points.
"The Mechanical Cluster once had three large gathering points on the ground. We speculate these to be the main bases for manufacturing Mechanical Autonomous Units. If Olivia controls all the mechanical bodies on the planet, there must be critical equipment for data transmission and code inscription at these places, and Olivia is likely within one of these gathering points," Celestia explained.
"Our Silver Wings noticed these places long ago but refrained from aggressively attacking them to avoid provoking the Mechanical Cluster. Some reconnaissance methods were stopped at the periphery, with no violent breakthroughs into the deeper layers."
Tilan’s gaze swept over the three red dots, one in the middle of the ocean, one underground in Antarctica, and another in an extinct volcano on a shattered island in the southwest.
"Many mechanical bodies are entrenched there; I fear I won’t be able to penetrate alone, so I’ll need your assistance, Tilan." Celestia attempted to approach one of the locations a few days ago, but had to retreat after only surveying the outer areas.
"I understand." Tilan nodded, knowing it was crucial to go with Celestia at this time; she was pondering whom to take along.
Tilan, Celestia, and Loloria definitely needed to go. Ores, Lindsay, Gray Feather Scholar, and Flan were also excellent auxiliary members. They understood the history of this planet. Although Ores could not perform at full strength due to memory loss, her natural abilities still surpassed many transcendent individuals she had encountered.
"However, we need to prepare and bring along some helpers," she asked Celestia to wait for two days.
...
Two days later, in Redstone City, at the airfield.
A special aircraft was parked on the open ground, with its gray-red paint, wide body, and powerful engines under its wings.
"This is the last ’Red Goose-2’ transport plane of the Slami Association on the North Continent, previously used to transport heavier war machines. The Association made a total of 19 planes," Flan introduced the few onlookers while holding a clipboard.
"The plane is currently stocked with enough food, emergency supplies, inflatable boats, diving equipment, medical equipment, weapons, various medicines, and more."
"I can serve as the pilot, alongside four of my co-pilots from the Slami Association, to transport you to the shattered islands in the southwest. After that, you’ll have to infiltrate on your own," he said.
"Thank you." Tilan looked at the remaining few members of the Slami Association in front of her, sighing inwardly. The Slami Association, which was gradually entering modern civilization, had vanished like a meteor, leaving only this small number of personnel.
Then she turned around, checked on the people who were all set, and had everyone board the aircraft one by one. Finally, Tilan and Celestia also entered the cabin.
This team included not only Loloria, Lindsay, Gray Feather Scholar Boenhardt, but also Ores, Flan, Moli, Lu Qing, and Ming Shan from the Heshan Rescue Association.
Though some members were not very strong in terms of combat, they could still provide a considerable amount of help, such as distracting the mechanical bodies, transporting key resources, providing support, etc.
After securing their positions, the plane accelerated continuously on the runway, eventually taking off and slowly ascending into the clouds.
...
Seven hours later, the large aircraft slowly descended from high altitude, diving toward a small island on the sea. A small figure slipped out from inside the plane, cutting through the pale white contrail, racing ahead to the island.
Blinding laser swept across, slicing the trees on the island, as the figure dove downward, quickly moving back and forth, clearing and tidying the ground, opening a passage about a hundred meters long.
Soon, the plane slowly landed on the island, and the small figure also stood at the head of the plane, pushing in reverse to aid deceleration, eventually stabilizing it.
As Tilan and her companions disembarked the cabin, the small figure spun several circles in the night sky before descending with some brisk airflow beside her.
"Tilan~ Am I amazing? I can stabilize such a big plane with ease," Loloria boasted excitedly, her demeanor filled with joy.
"Loloria indeed is amazing," Tilan replied with a smile, then turned to look at the large plane now parked under the shade of trees. If not for the assistance of this young girl, landing here would not have been easy.
"We’ll need your help again later, Loloria."
"No problem~" Loloria saluted, her green eyes blinking, indicating everything would be taken care of by her.
The group temporarily rested here for a while, beginning to arrange plans for what was next.
"First, Ming Shan, Moli, and Loloria will lead the accompanying mechanical bodies to the designated spot to attract the island’s mechanical body’s attention and lure out the entrenched Autonomous Units. At that point, Celestia and I will try to enter the inner part of the extinct volcano."
"Lu Qing and Ores will head in different directions with another group. If there are too many mechanical bodies on Loloria’s side, signal us to attract some over and alleviate pressure on that side."
"Flan and the medical team will stay on the island. If situations change, take off with the plane and evacuate immediately," Tilan laid down the subsequent plan roughly.
