Miss Beautiful C.E.O and her system

Chapter 785: Come on!!!

Chapter 785: Come on!!!

With protective talismans and bulletproof clothing, Ling Qingyu felt completely assured of their safety.

Even if biochemical or nuclear hazards erupted, the talismans would supposedly function mysteriously—beyond simply blocking kinetic impacts.

Of course, that was only in theory, based on Tang Ziyi and Athena's research, along with controlled laboratory tests. Even so, the level of protection was already insane.

In contrast, the stewardesses and pilots had no such protection, especially since Ling Qingyu had only just met them. It would take time before she could reveal such secrets.

Regardless of trust issues, Ling Qingyu had already sentenced all the terrorists to death in her mind, while inwardly complaining about the routine nature of active shooting incidents.

These events were so common that the news reported at least one every month in Country A.

People often said it wasn't surprising, given the easy access to firearms and their legalization—but Ling Qingyu disagreed.

Several nations in Alyssia also allowed civilian gun ownership, with ratios far higher than Country A, yet faced no such problems.

Inside the SUV, Kate was trying hard to figure out what kind of emergency Ling Qingyu was dealing with, as the vehicle sped forward at an alarming pace.

Glancing at the long stretch of red taillights trailing behind them, she was terrified that the driver might make a single mistake. She didn't dare speak.

Only the screeching tires and blaring horns left in their wake reassured her that she was still alive. Her slight drunkenness vanished completely.

However, she became even more alert when she saw Ling Qingyu emerge from the rear compartment holding two rifles and handing them to the copilot.

Two assault rifles—equipped with advanced ergonomics, optics, and unfamiliar attachments—were enough to fully wake Kate. Any lingering dizziness disappeared instantly.

"Qingyu… are those guns?"

"Can't you see, Kate? You're not drunk, are you?" Ling Qingyu smiled apologetically. "Sorry—you'll have to take this extra trip with us. Some of my people are in trouble."

"Does that kind of trouble require guns?" Kate asked.

Ling Qingyu then explained the situation so her friend could understand. Only then did Kate realize the gravity of it.

Though frightened, she didn't ask to be dropped off or removed from the situation. Since Ling Qingyu was going, as her friend—and someone who had received her kindness—Kate wouldn't stoop so low as to refuse even this small return.

Besides, Ling Qingyu had already explained how safe the vehicle was.

She trusted Qingyu.

Without another word, Ling Qingyu returned to the rear compartment, this time bringing Kevlar vests, helmets, and headsets—two sets in total. Obviously, they were for the driver and co-driver.

"Can't you trust that the police will handle it faster?" Kate asked.

"The nearest unit might arrive a minute earlier. But with their approach, if they go in hard, they'll suffer casualties," Ling Qingyu shook her head. "The most reliable option is to act ourselves. Trust us—we know what we're doing."

Kate fell silent. She didn't ask where Ling Qingyu got her information. She also didn't question why Ling Qingyu trusted her own guards more than trained professionals.

Ling Qingyu: We are the real professionals, okay? Ever since the trip to the reunion, it's been nonstop firefights and battles—from the airport to this active shooter situation.

No matter how she looked at it, Kate still trusted official professionals more than Ling Qingyu and her bodyguards, despite their high-tech equipment and overwhelming presence.

Even so, she didn't feel the urge to argue or prove anything. On the contrary, Ling Qingyu treated the situation as if it were just another routine matter.

Ironically, after that initial burst of murderous intent, Ling Qingyu now appeared calm and completely in control.

Soon, when Ling Qingyu emerged from the rear compartment again—something Kate was too mentally drained to properly track—she noticed a complete transformation.

A high-cut helmet with a headset, a rifle, and a tactical vest.

For a moment, Kate almost didn't recognize her, thinking a stranger had been inside the vehicle all along—until those familiar blue eyes confirmed the truth.

"Heck, Qingyu… what are you doing?"

"Saving my girls too. The more, the better," Ling Qingyu shrugged, as if it were the most natural thing in the world.

If Xiao Yue and Tang Ziyi knew about her voluntary involvement, they would probably drop everything just to check whether day and night had reversed—or if pigs had started flying.

Of course, at this moment, the former was busy coordinating a QRF while listening to Athena's briefing.

"It's dangerous. You're just a businesswoman," Kate said.

"Am I?" Ling Qingyu smiled.

No joke—she hadn't changed. She still feared death and danger.

Yet at the same time, she wasn't one to stay cooped up when she possessed near-invincible advantages that allowed her to take risks… and even enjoy them.

Meanwhile, inside the mall that Ling Qingyu's vehicle was heading toward, the flight stewardesses and pilots had all gathered in a corridor at a corner.

Four operators, armed with pistols, stayed vigilant, maintaining full 360-degree security.

Automatic gunfire and screams erupted from the floors below. Pleas for help were cut short by gunshots, along with the cries of children.

All the chaos almost pushed Spirit Fox into immediate action. They weren't in their own country to handle external crises, yet the urge to take matters into their own hands was overwhelming.

However, they understood that acting was far easier said than done.

The complications afterward forced them to prioritize protection. If not for those constraints, they would have already escorted the vulnerable group out and coordinated to eliminate the threats.

Say what people might about Ling Qingyu's private force, but every selected operator held firm, righteous beliefs and discipline.

In fact, they had already taken down one gunman armed with an assault rifle who appeared along an escape route.

A few minutes earlier, the moment firecracker-like sounds rang out—followed by consistent rhythmic bursts—the girls immediately identified the situation as an active shooter scenario.

As protectors, they had thoroughly studied the culture and common threats during their stay in Country A.

Without hesitation, they coordinated and quickly regrouped the scattered tour members in the vicinity. This was made possible by their initial formation—always maintaining a perimeter that kept the flight crew within a protective bubble.

Once assembled, they moved toward the emergency exit.

It was then that disaster struck.

Civilians ahead of them—who had the same idea—ran straight into a gunman. A handful were cut down before the pointwoman seized a clear line of sight and eliminated him.

Before she could retrieve the rifle for herself, two more attackers appeared at a distance, sprinting forward while firing.

The group was forced to retreat from their original path.

It was clear now—the attack had been carefully planned. The attackers were coordinated and in communication.

With rifles, the gunmen held a clear advantage at range, firing without regard for collateral damage. Several civilians who had sought protection with the group were hit.

Fortunately, the Spirit Fox operators possessed exceptional marksmanship, allowing them to return suppressive fire at range. Landing precise hits, however, was unrealistic under the circumstances.

The good news was that they could hold their ground—for now.

The bad news was that the terrorists had begun focusing on them, ignoring other bystanders. Ironically, this saved many civilians who might have otherwise been hunted down.

But with limited ammunition and a large group to protect, their position was effectively pinned.

They were trapped. As for unfortunate souls who happened to encounter them during the escape, the girls were helpless.

With Athena's assurance that reinforcements were on the way—and her detailed intelligence on every terrorist—the girls were eager to eliminate them, if not for the extra burden they had to protect.

There were six gunmen in total so far; one had already been taken out by them. If the remaining attackers dared to push in, Spirit Fox was confident they could annihilate them all.

Unfortunately, the gunmen maintained their distance and acted with caution, leading the girls to suspect they were highly trained.

Aside from the first attacker—who had been caught off guard—subsequent engagements became increasingly difficult.

The sound of police sirens brought a wave of relief. The flight crew and civilians hiding alongside them all let out a collective breath.

Unfortunately, that relief was short-lived.

Among the two responding patrol officers, after retrieving rifles from the rear compartment of their sedan, one was immediately shot in the head—killed through the one-way window due to a careless assumption that the terrorists couldn't see their movements.

The other officer was wounded and forced to sprint for cover. With his partner's fate unknown and the sheer level of precise violence, he was pinned down.

The four Spirit Fox sisters fell silent at the sudden turn of events, hearing the update from Athena.

As for the local reinforcements, although they hadn't held high expectations, they had at least hoped the officers could draw some attention away. Yet it lasted less than ten seconds.

Come on—if not out of respect for the courage of those who ran toward danger, they would have already cursed out loud.
