Chapter 24: 24 WOOD ?
Chapter 24: 24 WOOD ?
[ Maki's POV ]
Then I didn't waste any time. I activated my eye technique—the Sharingan—and scanned the area, searching for the instructor with the black ribbon on their head.
As my gaze swept across the ground, I noticed eyes glaring at me. At the very corner stood the four-eyeglasses guy, and somehow he already had a brand-new pair. I saw him slowly stand up from the ground, his legs still shaking, when he heard Present Mic shouting.
I didn't really know what kind of guy he was. First, he shouted like a maniac, then he acted like some office worker enforcing rules. It was really messed up. But I decided to forget about him.
The crowd was full of weird-looking people. A spiky-haired blonde guy who looked pissed off. An orange-haired girl casually eating an entire loaf of bread. Twin-looking sisters cleaning their swords. A woman in a maid outfit. Another in a kimono. People openly carrying swords.
And many more exotic-looking beings.
At the far corner stood the adults—the instructors. I counted ten of them, each wearing a ribbon of a different color on their heads.
I slowly strode toward a woman who seemed to be the instructor with the black ribbon. As I walked, I could still feel countless gazes fixed on me.
While moving through the crowd, I overheard fragments of conversations. A guy with yellow, lightning-like hair was talking to a red-haired man about the legendary Class S of U.A., a class only recommended students could attend. Another group was talking about a Hollow rampage. Others spoke about villains. Someone even mentioned an escaped prisoner from Impel Down.
So many troubling topics—things I'd only ever seen on the news or in videos. Seeing them discussed in person felt completely different.
But one thing kept bothering me: the recently appearing open voids. They started showing up ten years ago—the same year I fell into this world. Sometimes, I wondered if I was connected to them somehow.
But who was I, Just a random guy who was lucky.
If this were a Marvel movie, this world would probably have something like the Avengers. And as a bystander.woulf do we must wait for them to save the day.
I wasn't jealous of future heroes or anything like that. I knew that those who truly dreamed of becoming a hero someday would would eventually grasp it. That's why I felt like I was just a random guy who was just riding the flow, seeing where it would take me.
As I passed through the crowd, people subtly made way for me, forming a path. I was honestly thankful—I didn't want to be squeezed between bodies anyway.
When I reached the group with black ribbons, I noticed many people wearing them in different places—on their heads, hands, necks, anywhere visible.
Then I looked at the female instructor standing before us.
There was no doubt about it—this woman had the same flirty vibe as Nemuri. I knew that type of smile.
She was tall and slender, with fair skin and green eyes. Her ankle-length auburn hair was styled into a herringbone pattern at the back, tied into a top-knot with a dark blue band. Four bangs framed her face—two short ones, one covering her right eye, and two long ones crossing over her bust just below her chin.
She wore a long-sleeved dark blue dress that fell just below her knees, zipped at the front and open on the front-right side from the waist down. The dress barely covered her arms and the underside of her chest. Underneath, she wore mesh armor that covered slightly more of her upper body. She also had a skirt matching her dress, mesh leggings reaching past her knees, a belt with a pouch attached at the back, high-heeled sandals, shin guards, dark blue nail polish, and purple lipstick.
It felt like she sensed my gaze. She looked directly at me and smiled—that same flirtatious smile.
I simply stood there, not reacting. I knew that if I showed even a hint of weakness, someone like her would exploit it—maybe not physically, but in some other dangerous way.
Like everyone else, I waited. Not gonna lie, I really wanted to sit down. I looked around for somewhere to sit, but there was nothing—just white sand, bushes, and trees in the distance.
Trees…
An idea came to mind.
I summoned my system and opened the details on Hashirama's physique.
I read through it carefully, again and again.
