Chapter 2291 - 2267: Change of Heart

Just like Number Thirteen said, Gao Yang couldn’t be angry with Karima.

And towards Number Thirteen, Gao Yang couldn’t be angry either, because he knew what kind of person Number Thirteen was. It’s impossible to blame someone who has absolutely no moral compass, or even understands what morality is, for giving his own sister some lousy advice.

So, Gao Yang could only blame himself.

"This was a mistake. It’s best we don’t make it again."

After mumbling with little confidence, Gao Yang said softly to Karima, "You have a point. I will keep it from Yelena, but we should maintain a certain distance in the future. I need to think carefully, think about how to handle the relationship between us."

Gao Yang is no Saint, and his heart isn’t hard enough. Plus, he really lacks wisdom when dealing with feelings. When a mistake has already been made and he doesn’t know how to handle it, he has no choice but to choose a delaying tactic.

Bury the matter in his heart as if it never happened, and hope to have enough wisdom to resolve it later. This thought is certainly unrealistic; issues that can’t be resolved now will be even harder to handle later, especially after crossing a line with Karima. But what else could Gao Yang do?

Karima tidied up Gao Yang’s slightly wrinkled clothes and said softly, "I understand. Like I said, you don’t have to take on any responsibility for me; you’re not obliged to do anything for me. You’re not my boyfriend, and it’s enough for me to occasionally catch a glimpse of you. So, don’t feel any mental pressure because of me. I’ve already gotten what I want, and if you can’t adapt, then let’s pretend nothing happened."

After speaking, Karima stepped back and looked Gao Yang up and down, smiling, "I am already very satisfied with the current situation."

Because of the recent events, Gao Yang felt he couldn’t accomplish anything today. He needed to calm down, so he rubbed his chin and said quietly, "Abdul will come here today. He will be responsible for Solar System Company’s external affairs from now on. I was originally going to wait for him, but I need to calm down now. Karima smiled slightly and said, "Our company’s employee benefits are excellent; not only are there free drinks provided, but we also offer lunch."

Karima said softly, "He hopes to earn a more substantial income."

Gao Yang felt a bit angry upon hearing this and frowned, "Liang Dong is a Cook Soldier, the talented person I’ve been searching so hard for but couldn’t find, yet he refuses to join Satan, choosing instead to be just a chef in a fairly relaxed situation. I think a hundred thousand annual salary is quite high no matter what."

Karima raised her hand and said, "It’s my fault I didn’t make it clear. He wants to earn a more substantial income, of course, by changing his job method."
