Chapter 2240 - 2216: King of Intelligence

If you want to take someone out, naturally you need to know where they are.

Led into the ward by the nurse, Gao Yang asked in astonishment, "Why are only you two here?"

Justin shrugged, while Hammer whispered, "If no one finds him, he’s safe here alone; if we’re found, it won’t help if we’re all here. It’s a simple problem. The Captain and the others are monitoring this place 24/7 from outside. If they find anyone suspicious approaching, they’ll notify me, and I’m here to protect him and rest my leg."

Gao Yang smiled and said to Hammer, "Everything okay?"

Hammer looked at his leg and said, "It’s not a big deal. You sent me to Germany back then, and I have to thank you. I never thought the Captain would come back to lead us again; if I had died back then, I wouldn’t have been able to wait for this. Now I feel great, really great, like I’ve gotten thirty years younger."

Gao Yang laughed, "As long as you’re happy."

Hammer half-lied on the hospital bed, looked at Gao Yang with a puzzled expression, and said, "I heard from Tarta, the Captain wants you to be his successor. When our Captain dies, you’ll lead the Black Demon. I’m curious, why does he see you fit? You and the Black Demon don’t match at all."

Just as Gao Yang was about to speak, Justin, curious, asked, "Black Demon? Are you the Black Demon? That Black Demon? Soviet Union’s Black Demon? You are really that Black Demon? Unbelievable, are you really the Black Demon?"

Hammer impatiently said, "Shut up, stop babbling, how did I end up sharing a ward with you?"

Justin raised his hand, "But I’m really, really shocked. How could the Black Demon still exist? If you’re really that Black Demon, of course."

Hammer simply ignored Justin and just looked at Gao Yang, "Why?"

Gao Yang touched his head, "Maybe he finds me agreeable."

Hammer nodded, "I think so too; otherwise, why would the Captain choose you? Anyway, I’m sure you’ll do better than Pavlovich. We are the Black Demon, but that guy always takes pure combat unit jobs."

Gao Yang didn’t know how to respond, he just chuckled twice, Hammer waved his hand and said, "You have a good heart, and you treat me well. It’s nice that while working with you, I don’t have to keep an eye on possibly taking you out."

Justin urgently said, "Please, please, Ram, can you tell me, are they really that Black Demon?"

Gao Yang shrugged and said, "Of course, or what other Black Demon could there be?"

Justin stared blankly, "Wow, amazing, this is what it feels like when a legend becomes reality."

Hammer disdainfully said, "So you know about Black Demon?"

Justin exaggerated, "Of course! Think about what I do. Why I know is very interesting; my father had a connection with a high official from MI6, and MI6 fears the Black Demon..."

Hammer impatiently shouted, "Stop! Stop! Who the hell cares how you know about Black Demon, can’t you be quiet for a while."

Justin looked embarrassingly at Gao Yang, who shrugged and said to Justin, "You seem to be in good spirits, can you work now?"

Justin replied very dissatisfied, "I can, but you can’t make me work now, right? I still can’t get out of bed."

Gao Yang opened the bag he brought, full of phones, placed them on Justin’s bed and said, "Making calls doesn’t require getting out of bed. I don’t care how you do it, but you better quickly find out Mario’s whereabouts."

Justin picked up a phone, looked at Gao Yang and asked, "Aren’t you leaving?"

Gao Yang was taken aback, "Why should I leave?"

Hammer first grabbed his crutch from the bed, slowly got off, and said to Gao Yang, "Let’s go, let that guy make his calls slowly."

"Hurry up! Don’t keep us waiting too long."

After scolding Justin, Hammer and Gao Yang left the ward together. When they were some distance from the ward, Hammer suddenly took out a small square from his pocket and whispered, "Here, the signal receiver for a listening device, you can live-monitor what that guy is saying. The Captain will record what he says."

Gao Yang said in surprise, "You have a bug installed? Why? Is it necessary?"

Hammer smiled deceitfully and whispered, "He’ll be the future king of underground intelligence, so it’s essential to control him somehow."
