Mercenary’s War

Chapter 2199 - 2175: Absolutely Furious

Chapter 2199 - 2175: Absolutely Furious

Cesare’s mind was chaotic, he was very, very confused and shocked.

Looking at Mario lying on the couch, Cesare instinctively moved closer, but just then, someone suddenly shouted, "What’s wrong with Mister Cicero!"

Cesare glanced at the person rushing in, and in a very weary tone said, "He’s too angry."

If you glanced at Mario lying on the couch again, the person who rushed in shouted, "Mario! Mario!"

After calling out twice, the person who rushed in looked up at Mario’s personal doctor and said anxiously, "What’s the situation?"

"It might be a cerebral hemorrhage."

The person who rushed in hesitated no longer, he immediately stood up, placed his hand on the communicator near his mouth, and shouted, "Bring the bulletproof car to the door, head to Rome Hospital, lift Mister Cicero, the lead car sets off immediately, watch for any abnormalities on the road."

A group of people hurriedly ran out, two people lifted Mario onto a bulletproof car, then, just as Cesare instinctively wanted to follow, the person giving orders blocked him, pointing to another car behind, "Get in this car, Doctor, come up, you take care of Mister Cicero, we’re leaving."

Cesare said nothing, got into the car behind Mario’s, a large convoy roared towards the hospital.

Despite Cesare being Mario’s assistant, Mario’s right-hand man, normally his closest friend, Mario trusted his bodyguard more, not Cesare.

Cesare had known this for a long time. Even though he was Mario’s assistant and often delivered many of Mario’s orders, he never had the chance to overpower Mario, nor could he replace Mario, because Mario simply wouldn’t make such a mistake.

But when Mario was fine, Cesare was his right-hand man; yet when Mario had any mishap, Cesare lost all his status.

The reason for all this was because of Frank Giuseppe beside Mario.

Frank had excellent skills, sharp intuition, was a master killer and also an expert in protection. Simply put, Frank was a warrior, so he couldn’t handle Mario’s daily affairs, but Mario trusted him. When there’s no trouble, Frank doesn’t need to appear, but when Mario is in danger, all of Mario’s men only listen to Frank, as Mario had emphasized countless times.

If Frank felt it necessary, he could kill Cesare on the spot. Of course, he wouldn’t do it unless necessary.

Cesare’s feelings were very, very complex, and he couldn’t help but wonder what would happen if Mario died.

The convoy reached the hospital, under tight protection, Mario was placed on the operating table and handed over to the doctors and nurses.

The remaining matters had nothing to do with Cesare, but he couldn’t help but jog behind the operating table until Mario was sent to the CT scanning room.

Both Cesare and Frank stopped outside the door. Frank sternly waved his hand to the people behind him and said softly, "Spread out, don’t let any suspicious people approach, rigorously seal the news. If anyone leaks information, anyone, any inadvertent words, I will let him know the consequences."

After instructing his subordinates to disperse, Frank coldly looked at Cesare, then extended his hand, and in a low voice said, "Your phone, Cesare."

Cesare took out his phone, turned it off, and placed it in Frank’s hand.

Frank pocketed the phone, after casually putting it in his pocket, he said solemnly, "If Mario is fine, I’ll return it to you."

Cesare silently nodded, both men waited outside the CT scanning room. Soon, the door opened again, a doctor rushed out, and hurriedly announced, "Brain hemorrhage, immediate surgery."

Frank grabbed the doctor, in a low voice, demanded, "How serious is it!"

The doctor was a bit scared as Frank’s appearance was intimidating. He stammered, "It might... but we can try to rescue him, please let go, I must prepare for surgery immediately."

Frank immediately released the doctor and gestured, "Sorry, please, do your best."

Mario was motionlessly wheeled away, straight into the operating room. Frank watched Mario with a solemn expression until the door shut.

Frank quietly stood for a while, then turned to Cesare and asked in a low voice, "What happened?"

Cesare lowly recounted everything that had happened. After he finished, he suddenly, impulsively asked, "Will you kill me?"

Frank gazed at Cesare with a cold stern expression and asked, "Why ask this question."

Cesare’s smile was uglier than crying, and he whispered, "Because I know too much."

Frank turned away, "Knowing too much doesn’t necessarily mean death, Cesare, you’re overthinking."

Cesare exhaled heavily, "Frank, I’m prepared to face my destiny, I just ask one thing of you, please tell me, if Mario dies, must I die too? Everyone knows that all matters beside Mario are handled by the two of us, but I know my fate is in your hands, Mario considered me a friend but always thought of you as family."

After speaking, Cesare made a difficult face, "I mean nothing else, Frank, we’ve known each other for many years, I just want to know my fate, if I must die, I will accept calmly, but promise me, let me arrange my affairs, take care of my family before you act, don’t be too hasty, can you?"

Frank looked at Cesare for a long time, then spoke in a low voice, "You won’t die, as long as you don’t do anything foolish. Mario considers you a friend, and he won’t kill a friend. Now, you should rest for a while."

After Frank finished speaking, he glanced around, then directly entered a doctor’s office, looked inside, and loudly said, "I’ll borrow your office, take your personal belongings and leave."

After driving the doctor out, Frank casually walked to the desk, unplugged the telephone line, then walked out the office door, glancing back at Cesare, summoned two bodyguards, and commanded loudly, "It’s very dangerous here, don’t let Cesare out of your sight."

After speaking loudly, Frank whispered in a barely audible voice, "If he makes a call, take him out."

In the guise of protection, but actually surveillance, of course, Cesare understood this. He sat in the doctor’s chair, staring blankly at the floor, not knowing what he was thinking.

After spacing out for a long time, he looked up at the two bodyguards staring intently at him, Cesare sighed again, checked his watch, and said, "It’s three o’clock, I want to sleep for a while, wake me if there’s news about Mister Cicero."

Having said that, Cesare closed his eyes facing the bodyguards, leaning his head back, with his right hand resting on his left hand.

All of Cesare’s movements were visible to the bodyguards, but his little movements with his hands were not.

Cesare subtly used his thumb to rhythmically press the buckle of his watch.

"Notify Lorenzo, inform Grand Ivan to contact Justin, Mario is dead, Rome Hospital, Cesare, extremely urgent."

Having sent out a set of Morse code using his watch, Cesare resolutely repeated the same message three times to avoid any error. Once he sent the crucial message, Cesare had the opportunity to send more detailed information, but he chose not to.

Cesare actually fell asleep, and when he was awakened by faint footsteps, he opened his eyes to see Frank standing before him with a darkened expression.

Frank stopped in front of Cesare, hesitated for a moment, then spoke in an extremely heavy tone, "Mario died on the operating table. Now there are a lot of things that need you to handle. Follow my instructions."
