Capítulo 2009: Chapter 1986: Idiotic Price
Alexander looked at Gao Yang with a bewildered expression and shouted, “You showed me your gun, let me test-fire it, and it’s just to show off?”
Gao Yang raised his rifle slightly and laughed, “Is this gun worth showing off?”
After nodding subconsciously, Alexander immediately said, “You can’t do that; you’ll get shot secretly doing this, mate. Don’t learn from that bastard Nate. You can’t show off and then just tell me it’s just for show. Oh, I get it. Let’s hear your terms, quickly state your terms.”
Alexander was somewhat exasperated.
Gao Yang slung his rifle over his shoulder and smiled, “Mate, when I let you try my gun, didn’t you notice anything?”
Alexander immediately responded, “Notice what?”
Gao Yang patted Alexander’s shoulder with a serious expression and said, “What you need is to find a gunsmith, an exceptionally good gunsmith, to assemble your gun. You don’t think that just taking a gun off the production line achieves its best state, do you?”
Alexander frowned and said, “You mean your gun was specially made by a gunsmith, right? But my gun is also by a gunsmith…”
“Well, that just proves your gunsmith isn’t good enough, that’s all.”
Interrupting Alexander, Gao Yang laughed, “Mate, you can’t expect to produce a gun, and after a gunsmith’s assembly and light polishing, for it to reach its best state.”
Alexander frowned and said, “No, that’s not right. It can’t be that simple.”
“Are you familiar with this gun? Do you think this gun could have some other high-tech features? Want to take it apart and look at the internal structure? You don’t really think my gun looks like an M14 on the outside but is completely different inside, do you?”
After contemplating for a moment, Alexander finally nodded and said, “Yes, that’s exactly what I think, although I also find it unlikely. But there’s no other reason.”
Gao Yang immediately took down the gun again, and with a few swift moves, disassembled it, pointing at the pile of parts, “Look!”
Alexander looked truly anxious, clutching his hair and gritting his teeth, “It’s just an M14, but why, why! Why does your gun perform so magically? Is it just because of the gunsmith?”
Gao Yang said seriously, “Your gunsmith isn’t good enough, and you don’t believe me when I tell you.”
After thinking for a while, Alexander said dejectedly, “Okay, there’s only this explanation. So, are you planning to introduce your gunsmith to me? I’m willing to pay a hefty sum to have him assemble some of the best rifles for me, a hefty sum!”
Gao Yang smiled and said, “Well, I can’t promise you that, but I can ask for you. How much are you planning to pay?”
Alexander extended one finger and loudly said, “One hundred…”
Seeing Gao Yang’s disdainful sidelong glance, Alexander gritted his teeth and loudly said, “Ten million! F**k! I’m willing to pay ten million dollars just to hire a gunsmith to make a few guns for me, ten! Just ten!”
Gao Yang shrugged and said with a troubled face, “Mate, ten million dollars just to find a gunsmith, people will think you’re crazy, no, a fool.”
Alexander gritted his teeth and said, “I’m willing to be this fool. I said, I have plenty of money! But, you have to guarantee the results; otherwise, I won’t pay!”
Gao Yang spread his hands and said, “Then forget it. I was just going to tell you, although you offered a fool’s price, the person is indeed very busy and has no time to earn your money. Assembling ten guns would take about two years. Besides, you’re not the only one extremely rich, so unfortunately…”
Alexander looked astounded and said, “Ten million dollars just to assemble ten guns, and someone wouldn’t want to earn that? Fine, fine! You vampire, five! I only want to assemble five guns!”
Gao Yang said seriously, “I’m helping you, and you think I’m extorting you? Mate, apologize, or no one will help you no matter how high the price you offer.”
Alexander took a few deep breaths, then looked at Gao Yang peacefully and said, “Sorry, then, ten million dollars, help me make five guns, I’m begging you, thank you.”
Gao Yang nodded and smiled, “Okay, I’ll ask for you.”
Alexander stumbled and then said with a face full of grievance, “I damn well offered a dumb price just to assemble five guns, and all you can promise is to ask for me?”
Gao Yang, full of regret, patted Alexander’s shoulder and said in a low voice, “Mate, sorry, but like I said, there are more rich people besides just you.”
Alexander looked at Gao Yang’s gun and said with a sorrowful face, “Alright, alright, you help me inquire. You have my contact details, I’m eagerly waiting for your call, mate. I live in Arizona, USA, and the factory is there too. You’re welcome to come find me anytime, really, you’re welcome anytime.”
Gao Yang laughed, “Wow, Aurora Arctic Fox’s retirement residence, that’s quite the secret in the mercenary world, and you just told me?”
Alexander spread his hands with a helpless face, “You had to know. I trust you’re not a fool. Being friends with me has a lot more advantages than being my enemy, mate. We have to go. If you have any news, call me anytime. Goodbye.”
After Alexander finished speaking, he turned to leave. Gao Yang laughed behind him, “Leaving just like that?”
“I’m afraid if I don’t leave, I’d succumb to taking you down and stealing your gun!”
After Alexander left, Eileen finally couldn’t hold back her laughter and said, “Why not tell him about the secret of the barrel, Boss? Were you just showing off?”
Gao Yang affectionately stroked his gun and said in a low voice, “Yes, I just wanted to show off. It’s hard to find someone who truly understands. It’s also tough having such an extraordinary gun and not being able to tell anyone. Since Alexander surely won’t reveal my secret, of course, I’d show off a bit. As for that kind of steel, well, let’s see. Maybe I’ll tell him in the future.”
After saying that, Gao Yang raised an eyebrow and laughed, “And of course, I wanted to find Jack some extra income, but I didn’t expect that Alexander would really make such a crazy offer, just for five guns. Tsk tsk, Jack will have to thank me well indeed.”
Glolov laughed, “Crazy indeed, ten million dollars for five guns. I bet that’s the most expensive gun in the world, absolutely!”
Frey shouted, “So what, Aurora’s been in the game for how many years? They must be very, very wealthy.”
Gao Yang laughed heartily and shouted, “Exactly, he’s very wealthy. Alright, guys, after spending such a long time here, it’s time we head home. Get ready, and once you’re set, we move. Going home!”
