Capítulo 2006: Chapter 1983: No Second Chances

Gao Yang felt that Nate had issues with his emotional intelligence, but looking at Nate and his teammates together, he seemed quite normal.

So, he thought Nate was either extremely arrogant, disdaining to owe anyone anything, nor letting anyone owe him; or he was so stubborn that his brain had become square.

All things considered, Gao Yang felt that Nate must be proud, proud to the bone.

Setting aside why Nate was proud or what reasons he had to be proud, just from his behavior, he was an extremely proud person.

Ivan was also quite helpless with Nate’s behavior. He made an indifferent gesture to Nate, laughed, and said, “If you really think I don’t need to thank you for rescuing me in Colombia, that it was just a business transaction, well, I’m happy to accept that.”

Nate said sternly, “That’s right, it was just a business transaction. This time, it’s not business. You helped Ram, but to save us, so I need to thank you, please.”

Coffee was served, and Ivan smiled wryly, “So, your gratitude to me is a cup of coffee, right?”

“Yes, the coffee I just served them was instant coffee, but this is my prized coffee, which is hard to find in Ukraine.”

Ivan wiped his mouth and smiled bitterly, “Actually, I think offering me a drink would be more appropriate. We’re used to expressing gratitude with alcohol.”

“I never drink.”

Nate took a sip from his cup and, with a look of euphoria, said, “This is real good coffee. Arctic Fox and the others don’t understand what good coffee is.”

Gao Yang said with disdain, “Come on, your mouth stinks too much. How could Arctic Fox and the others discern good coffee when they’re around you?”

Nate’s face changed. He immediately put his hand in front of his nose, fanned it a couple of times, and stared at Gao Yang, “Does it smell bad?”

Gao Yang chuckled a couple of times and said, “It’s not that there’s an odor, buddy. You’ve washed up for so long and sprayed on so much cologne that it’s enough to attract bees. There’s no smell on you. I just meant your words are too unpleasant, buddy. Do you need to be so sensitive?”

Nate’s expression shifted several times, then he said dejectedly, “Forget it, let’s not talk about this. You wouldn’t understand.”

Gao Yang looked at Nate and said solemnly, “This time, you’ve suffered a great loss. What do you plan to do?”

Nate was silent for a moment, then nodded, “Yes, this has been the biggest loss since the Angel Mercenary Corps was formed. Many brothers died, brothers who have fought beside me for years. Right now, I’m not as relaxed as I seem, but we’ve survived, the Angel still exists, so the Angel will become stronger!”

Gao Yang nodded, finished the rest of his coffee, and said solemnly, “I’m very glad you weren’t crushed. Now, you two discuss things. I need to go find Arctic Fox and discuss the next steps for dealing with Iron Madonna.”

Nate breathed out, shook his head lightly, and said quietly, “You won’t have a chance to eliminate Iron Madonna here.”

Gao Yang spread his hands, “Why?”

Nate said gravely, “Iron Madonna has been severely hit, so they definitely won’t stay and get entangled further. Don’t think that Hydra would choose to stay for revenge like you would. It’s impossible. If Iron Madonna misses, they will immediately flee. If necessary, Hydra can sacrifice anyone he deems necessary.”

Gao Yang said softly, “That’s why we need to act quickly, to find a chance to eliminate them before Iron Madonna leaves.”

Nate said with a serious face, “Hydra absolutely won’t give you that chance. Regardless of what he did before, if he thinks the goal is unachievable, he will abandon everything and leave immediately. I dare say that Iron Madonna didn’t stop after escaping, they left at the fastest speed, maybe even out of Ukraine. I’ve studied Iron Madonna’s combat habits and analyzed Hydra’s character. He wouldn’t let emotions interfere, so you won’t have a chance to kill him here.”

Gao Yang smiled and said, “How would you know if you don’t try? If Iron Madonna leaves, it will be harder to deal with them. So, I still want to try. I have to try again.”

Nate gestured for him to suit himself, and Gao Yang left first.

Alexander and Nate together couldn’t come up with any useful results. Gao Yang, who was bent on taking down Iron Madonna, had to work harder, running back and forth to devise a feasible strategy.

Alexander was discussing something with Megastar. Upon seeing Gao Yang, Alexander stood up, extended his hand, and smiled at Gao Yang, “I didn’t expect you to come over so soon. I’m glad to see you without Mad Wolf here, buddy.”

After shaking hands with Alexander and bumping fists with Megastar, Gao Yang said seriously, “I’m here to discuss with you how to take down Iron Madonna. Here, it’s our best chance.”

Alexander sighed with great regret, shook his head, and said, “Give it up, it’s impossible. Crow won’t give you this opportunity. Since you know it’s a good opportunity, then Crow must not give you this opportunity.”

“The Crow you’re talking about is Hydra?”

“That’s right, it’s Hydra.”

Gao Yang spread his hands, “On this point, your view aligns with Wind Wave’s. He also thinks there’s no opportunity.”

After inviting Gao Yang to sit, Alexander smiled and said, “I never imagined Mad Wolf would acknowledge you as a friend. To me, that’s incredible.”

Gao Yang didn’t know how to respond, so he just smiled. Alexander remained silent for a moment, then said quietly, “Angel and Iron Madonna, these two mercenary groups are actually quite similar. They have no friends or enemies, only missions. Once they accept a mission, they try to complete it regardless of who the employer is or who the target is. Once they complete the mission or realize it can’t be completed, they leave immediately without hesitation or delay, no matter the advantage gained or the losses suffered. Once it’s deemed over, it’s immediately over.”

After a somewhat lengthy explanation, Alexander sighed and slowly said, “So now, Crow, oh, Hydra should have already led Iron Madonna away, licking their wounds and regaining their strength. If Hydra feels revenge is necessary, he will suddenly appear at a time you least expect and deliver a fatal blow. If he doesn’t think revenge is necessary or if revenge would lead to unbearable losses, then he won’t seek revenge. He will wait in the dark for the right opportunity while we must be on constant guard because we can’t give Hydra a chance.”

Gao Yang said with great regret, “Such opponents are the most troublesome, and we lost the best opportunity simply because of a sniper.”

Alexander, also regretful, said, “That’s right. We were defeated by Specter alone. From now on, finding Iron Madonna and taking her down will be a long and tough task.”
