Chapter 206: Missing You Would Be My Regret

Chapter 206: Missing You Would Be My Regret

The sound of running water stopped abruptly. Tang Song walked out of the bathroom, drying his hands with a towel.

Wen Ruan looked up at him, her gaze instinctively drawn to his fingers.

What a revelation!

She’d always thought his hands were beautiful, but today she learned just how capable they were. They put any gadget or device to shame. If this guy played video games, his skills would be god-tier.

“Three minutes! You only lasted three minutes!” Tang Song teased, holding up three fingers with a devilish grin.

Wen Ruan rolled her eyes at him.

Seriously, with hands like those, it’s like he’s hacking life! Who could possibly hold out?

The memory of her trembling earlier sent a wave of heat through her. Nope, definitely couldn’t hold out.

“Come on,” Tang Song said, patting her peach-shaped hips lightly. “Let’s go pick out some gifts.”

He could clearly feel the shift in her attitude. Something had changed—she seemed to have accepted, deep down, the idea of being his girlfriend. She might still have her reservations, but now that a crack had formed in her resolve, it was only a matter of time before she fully gave in.

Tang Song wasn’t the type to let go when it came to relationships. His determination had kept him chasing after his first love for years, sacrificing fun and working tirelessly to improve himself.

And with Wen Ruan, someone who’d shared intimate moments with him, letting go was simply not an option.

His next step was clear: he needed to give her and her family complete peace of mind.

---

As they walked into his walk-in closet, Wen Ruan’s eyes widened in amazement.

“Wow, this is stunning!”

The U-shaped space was open and inviting, with warm ambient lighting creating a cozy atmosphere.

The island in the middle had varying levels, paired with a sleek black leather bench. Wooden and leather wardrobes exuded an understated Italian luxury.

Hanging neatly in the dark wood cabinets were rows of high-end clothing. Designer bags, shoes, and hats were perfectly organized, creating a breathtaking sight.

Tang Song wrapped an arm around her slender waist, guiding her to a specific cabinet. He opened it to reveal shelves filled with gift boxes and bags.

LV, Bulgari, Chanel, Cartier…

With a smile, he gestured toward the collection. “There are makeup sets, bags, accessories—you can pick whatever you like.”

“Uh…” Wen Ruan’s chest rose and fell as her heart raced.

She ran her fingers over the elegant packaging, her lips slightly parted.

She was a normal woman, after all. Faced with so many luxurious items, it was impossible not to feel excited.

At that moment, she had a vivid, tangible sense of what life with Tang Song would be like.

When she was younger, she’d dreamed of a future full of infinite possibilities—financial freedom, fame, success.

But after years of grinding in the city, enduring late nights, stress, and setbacks, she’d realized she wasn’t the protagonist of the world.

Returning to Yan City to focus on a fulfilling life and personal growth had been her way of compromising with reality.

Taking a deep breath, she calmed her thoughts.

Wen Ruan picked out four headbands, saying, “I’ll take these for now. I’ll come back for my share later.”

---

In the living room, Qiao Lina, Wen Qinqin, and the others were deep in conversation, occasionally gesturing toward various parts of the lavish decor.

Noticing Tang Song and Wen Ruan approaching, they quickly stood up, their expressions a mix of nervousness and awe.

Even the usually brash Zhang Ziqi looked a bit on edge.

Although she’d known Tang Song was wealthy, seeing the reality up close made her acutely aware of the gap between them.

Wen Ruan swung the gift bag slightly and smiled. “These are headbands from Tang Song—two Chanel and two LV. You four can split them however you like.”

“Thank you, Tang Song! You’re the best!” Zhang Ziqi practically skipped over to pick an LV headband she’d been coveting for ages.

“Thank you, Tang Song!”

“Thanks!”

“Thank you so much!”

The other three eagerly accepted their gifts, their faces lighting up with delight.

No one could resist such tangible generosity.

After chatting briefly, Tang Song led them to the home theater.

He opened the heavy door and flipped on the lights, revealing the luxurious setup inside.

The room was equipped with mood lighting, an L-shaped plush sofa, an oversized projection screen, massage chairs, and a beautifully stocked minibar and snack cabinet.

Chen Xiaoman let out a loud “Wow!” and immediately ran inside, touching everything and snapping pictures with her phone. Fresh chapters posted on noⅴelfire.net

Tang Song invited them to take a seat and turned on the laser projector, setting snacks and drinks on the coffee table.

While they chatted, Chen Xiaoman and Wen Ruan grabbed game controllers and started a two-player session on the PS5.

Everyone joined in occasionally, and the room buzzed with lively energy.

---

At 3 PM, Tang Song ordered fruit platters, cakes, and milk tea.

The group selected a domestic romantic comedy from the NAS library and dimmed the lights.

The clear, immersive sound of the BOSE speakers filled the room.

Tang Song, with one arm wrapped around Wen Ruan’s waist, alternated between watching the movie and whispering to her.

When the film ended, Wen Qinqin excitedly turned on the karaoke machine. Everyone picked songs and began singing enthusiastically.

Wen Ruan leaned closer to Tang Song, taking a deep breath. She whispered in his ear, “Little brother, come with me. I need to talk to you.”

She stood up and addressed the group. “This is my first time here, so I’m going to have Tang Song show me around. We’ll also figure out dinner. You all keep playing.”

The others waved them off, too preoccupied with their fun to care.

Once the theater door shut, Wen Ruan strode toward the master bedroom.

Tang Song followed, his eyes gleaming with anticipation, already guessing her intentions.

The bedroom door clicked shut, and they turned to face each other.

For a moment, their gazes locked, sparks flying in the air.

Then, they fell into each other’s arms. The sound of rustling clothes mixed with the faint smack of kisses.

As Tang Song’s youthful energy radiated through her, Wen Ruan’s heart pounded wildly. She murmured, “After dinner, I’ll leave with Ziqi and the others. I still have to explain everything to my parents.”

Seeing the flicker of disappointment in his eyes, she licked her lips and added, her voice sultry, “That means we don’t have much time left. Let me teach you some water magic again.”

Tang Song grinned, running his hand over her chest. “I want to learn the E-level water magic this time.”

Wen Ruan chuckled, her lips curving into a seductive smile. “Oh, you’re already into advanced techniques, huh? You really want to level up fast.”

“Can I?” Tang Song asked, his tone eager.

Wen Ruan didn’t answer. Instead, her tongue darted out, grazing her lips as if reciting an incantation.

Her face flushed, her eyes filled with a mix of shyness and allure, exuding an irresistible charm.

Tang Song couldn’t hold back any longer. With a growl, he pressed her firmly against the sofa.

---

Later, as they sat in the dining room enjoying a sumptuous meal, the atmosphere was relaxed.

While Qiao Lina and the others wandered the apartment taking photos, Tang Song and Wen Ruan retreated to the theater.

The oversized screen and immersive sound system made Wen Ruan as giddy as a child with a new toy. She kept laughing and exclaiming, sharing gaming tips and strategies with Tang Song.

Her genuine joy filled the room, making Tang Song’s gaze soften.

By 9:30 PM, the group headed downstairs to leave.

As they walked toward Yuanhe Mansion, Tang Song and Wen Ruan lingered near the entrance of Yanjing Tiancheng.

“You don’t need to see us off,” Wen Ruan said gently. “We all know the way, and it’s perfectly safe here in the city center.”

Tang Song pulled out his BMW key and handed it to her. “You’ve been curious about the car, right? Take it for a spin. Return it whenever you’re done.”

The BMW 330i was mostly idle with him, only driven occasionally. Letting Wen Ruan use it seemed like a better option.

Wen Ruan blinked, her lips curling into a playful smile. “So, are you trying to spoil me? First the car, then a house?”

“Would you like that?” Tang Song asked, raising an eyebrow.

Wen Ruan didn’t answer immediately. She stared at him for a long moment before finally taking the keys. “Bye.”

She turned and walked toward the gate.

Her steps were deliberate and firm, as if each one carried an internal struggle.

When she’d counted ten steps, she stopped.

Turning abruptly, she walked back toward him, tears streaming down her face.

“Why didn’t you lie to me?” she demanded,

her voice breaking.

“If you’d lied and said you’d marry me, said you’d love me forever, I wouldn’t leave tonight. I’d stay here with you, cook for you, play games with you, tell you everything about my past… Even if it ended with me crying like an idiot, I could comfort myself by saying you’re just a scumbag who wasn’t worth my time.”

Her words tumbled out in a rush before she leaned in and bit his neck fiercely.

Wiping away her tears with her hand, she shoved him lightly, grabbed her bag and gift bags, and strode off into the night.

Missing you would be my regret—

That much was certain.

But loving you felt like walking on a tightrope, wild and reckless, with no way back.

So what should I do?

Give me more time… and a little more courage. Let me love you without hesitation.
