Chapter 201 - 202: Unreconciled
Su Nian admired her handiwork, a smile gracing her lips as she faced the man. "I’m sorry, I didn’t quite catch that. Could you say it again?"
The man flinched. The invisible female ghost on his back pressed down harder, and he scrambled backward, all his previous arrogance gone.
He didn’t even have the courage to meet Su Nian’s gaze. All he could do was shake his head helplessly and choose to keep his mouth shut.
Su Nian glanced at the female ghost on his back, smiled, and returned to her seat.
"Wang Jun. Male, 32 years old. Middle school education. You worked five years in construction, one year in a restaurant, six years in a factory, and then you’ve been a taxi driver for the last four years. Am I wrong?"
After speaking, Su Nian fell silent and leaned back slightly, a cryptic smile playing on her lips.
This made Wang Jun’s heart pound in his chest. ’It’s like she really knows everything.’
[What’s the host doing? Feels a bit like an HR interview.]
[Are you stupid? I think she’s about to pass judgment!]
[All I know is, this guy is probably screwed. The last time I saw the host with such a disgusted look on her face was with Tangtang’s mother.]
The man’s lips trembled, but he didn’t dare utter a single word.
Su Nian continued, "A month ago, you gave a ride to a girl in a red dress, didn’t you?"
As soon as she said those keywords, the man’s eyes shot wide open. That’s right—he actually did know a few things.
After all, he was a long-time fan of Su Nian and had learned a lot from her streams.
For instance, he knew he was probably being haunted by a ghost.
He knew that cameras could capture images of ghosts...
And he even suspected there was something invisible on his own back.
But he had just been enduring it. He was afraid that if he went to see a master, what he had done would be discovered. He had even put on a special disguise just to come here today.
"Through your conversation, you learned she was an orphan who had just graduated from college. Then you drove to a remote area, dragged her into the woods..."
With every word Su Nian spoke, Wang Jun’s face grew paler.
But Su Nian’s gaze met that of the female ghost clinging desperately to him.
"AHH!!!"
A shrill scream erupted from behind him. Wang Jun’s mind instantly went blank.
In fact, at that moment, it was as if Wang Jun had lost control of his own body and began frantically slamming his head against the wall!
[What kind of animal is he! That girl just graduated!]
[At first I was scared, but now I just feel so bad for her!]
[Ugh, aren’t cases like this pretty common? Are you guys getting this worked up just because it involves the supernatural? Seriously?]
[Some people might not realize what happened and think cases like this are common. All I can say is, people like that are trash!]
[She was an orphan! She had no family to support her. Imagine how hard it must have been for her to get into college and graduate. Her future was just beginning, you animal!]
The man’s actions were out of his control. In Su Nian’s eyes, the female ghost on his back had gone berserk, grabbing his head and repeatedly smashing it against the wall!
’She hated him!’
’All the hardships she had endured, the disdainful looks from others, the countless part-time jobs during college, the endless cramming for her entrance exams... none of it had led to a secure future!’
’She couldn’t accept it!’
Agonized sobs could almost be heard in the brief pauses between the thuds of the man’s head hitting the wall.
The man, now dazed and dizzy, saw Su Nian as his only hope!
"Master, save me! This ghost is trying to kill me! AHH!!"
It was the man’s cry that made the ghost on his back stop and turn to look at Su Nian.
’She would have her revenge! She would have her revenge! Anyone who stood in her way deserved to die!’
As if enraged by Su Nian’s gaze, she lunged forward.
The man felt a sudden lightness on his back. When he even saw a blood-red figure rushing toward Su Nian, his first instinct was to bolt for the door and escape.
Unfortunately, before he could open the door, a large iron ball bearing a thumbprint smashed his hand...
