Chapter 13: Bloodbath
Chapter 13: Bloodbath
Seeing Yu Ye’s resolute expression, Ji Qinglin was instead a little puzzled.
He worried he might be putting too much pressure on her. He definitely wanted to pull her onto the pirate ship with this, but he couldn’t rush things and scare the little one off.
"There’s no need to decide so quickly. Extracting the meridians will take some time, so we definitely won’t be able to transplant them for you today."
"It’s fine, I’ve already made up my mind."
"Oh? Not afraid of getting investigated anymore?"
Yu Ye mimicked Ji Qinglin’s tone from earlier and replied,
"Why would they investigate me? I’m just someone who paid for a second-hand meridian transplant. How would I know who the unlucky previous owner was?"
"Not bad, you’re learning fast. Actually, the meridians stripped from Sang Feng are better than brand-new ones. Since they’ve just been soaked in blood and haven’t had time to fuse with muscle and bone, they’re in optimal condition for use."
One key reason they were able to capture Sang Feng was that his meridians had only been implanted recently, meaning they hadn’t yet integrated with his body.
"Should we go in and check? Can Dr. Shen handle it alone?"Mad Yu Ye: What, you planning to help now? First Disciple of the Serial Killer Sect!
Cold Yu Ye: Think about it—are you really in a position to say that?
Ji Qinglin led Yu Ye into the warehouse. This was the storage area outside Bixin Hall, rarely opened, and mainly used to keep medical equipment and supplies that weren’t immediately needed.
Through a narrow tunnel, Ji Qinglin and Yu Ye took an elevator down to the underground medical room.
Sang Feng, drugged and unconscious, was stripped naked and strapped to the operating table, covered only with a white sheet.
Shen Bixin, now wearing a white coat and with her curly hair tucked under a cap, was using an old machine to perform a full-body scan on Sang Feng.
"Have you made up your mind? This meridian set is in high demand."
"My disciple is taking it. Bixin, be careful when you extract it—don’t damage it."
"My professional skills don’t need validation from a d*mn conman like you. After extraction and some processing, the meridians should be ready in two days. Yu Ye, you can come back then for the transplant."
Yu Ye nodded and thanked her,
"Then I’ll have to trouble Dr. Shen."
Ji Qinglin walked over to Sang Feng and saw his eyes brimming with tears. Whether from remorse for his past crimes or sheer terror, it was hard to say. But at this moment, he was finally experiencing firsthand what it felt like to be one of those he had captured.
"Hey, let’s be a little considerate of the guy’s feelings, yeah? Mr. Sang Feng, with so many lives on your hands, I’m sure you, being such an expert in the organ trade, are already familiar with what comes next. No need to be nervous. Bixin, for safety’s sake, why don’t we just give Mr. Sang Feng a quick and painless end?"
Sang Feng could never have imagined that the ordinary general store owner who had politely turned down his offer a week ago was actually this ruthless—a man who never left grudges overnight.
He wanted to negotiate, to beg for mercy, but his drugged body wouldn’t obey.
"No. To ensure the organs remain viable, it’s best to harvest them while he’s still alive. That’s how they usually do it."
"Tsk. How can you say something so cold-blooded with that 36-degree mouth of yours? Too bloody. Well, I guess we’re not needed here anymore?"
Shen Bixin, now wearing gloves, glanced at them,
"Don’t get in my way while I’m working."
Ji Qinglin made a casual wave as if to say see you later and led Yu Ye toward the door.
"Keep us updated."
Once the elevator ascended and she confirmed that Ji Qinglin and Yu Ye had left, Shen Bixin pulled a chair over and sat in front of Sang Feng. She reached out, pried open his mouth, and injected him with something.
"You should be able to talk now."
Sang Feng, paralyzed like a quadriplegic, could only move his head. He sobbed and pleaded,
"Please spare me! Whatever you want, I’ll give it to you! I was wrong before! I’ll compensate you and Mr. Ji Qinglin! No—I’ll give you all my assets! Just let me live!"
With his speech temporarily restored, he spewed out all his pleas in a panic.
Shen Bixin lit a cigarette with a tap of her mechanical finger, her voice calm as ever,
"Be quiet. Answer my questions, or I’ll kill you right now."
"N-no, no! Ask anything! I’ll tell you everything!"
"Celestial Dao Biotech possesses an Immortal’s remains, don’t they?"
"……"

Ji Qinglin and Yu Ye walked out of the basement and made their way through the quiet streets. Yu Ye asked,
"Master, aren’t we leaving too quickly? Is it okay to leave Dr. Shen there alone?"
"She probably wishes we’d left even earlier. Judging by her attitude, she never intended to deal with Sang Feng’s body tonight at all."
"Huh? Then what is she doing there alone? And if she’s giving me the meridian set, isn’t she doing all this for nothing?"
"You think the most valuable thing on Sang Feng is his meridian set?"
"It’s information! Sang Feng knows company secrets!"
"Good disciple. If my guess is right, she’s interrogating him as we speak."
Ji Qinglin knew Shen Bixin wasn’t the impulsive type—at least not since she established Bixin Hall. Yet this time, she had insisted on capturing Sang Feng alive, which meant he had something she was very interested in.
"Aren’t you curious about those secrets, Master?"
"You’d best curb your curiosity. If possible, avoid getting involved with the company. Most corporations are heartless machines—human lives mean nothing to them."
"……"
Mad Yu Ye: For once, we actually agree on something.
Cold Yu Ye: Do you think staying here is really the right choice?
Mad Yu Ye: Are you worried we’ll drag him down?
Cold Yu Ye: Yeah.
Mad Yu Ye: Doesn’t matter. Judging by today’s events, it’s still unclear who’ll end up dragging down whom. We just act; the consequences are up to karma.
Cold Yu Ye: Ha, you and Master are surprisingly alike when it comes to shamelessness.
"Yu Ye, what are you spacing out for?"
"Oh, nothing. I was just curious about your relationship with Dr. Shen."
"A kid like you sure likes to gossip."
Mad Yu Ye: You’re not that much older than us! Want to prove it? Show me!
Cold Yu Ye: Great. Now you two are becoming more and more alike in being perverts.
"I just think you and Dr. Shen must be close. Doing something this dangerous, yet working together so seamlessly."
"Not really. We’ve only truly known each other for a little over a year. And it all started on a night just like this."
Yu Ye looked ahead at the dazzling skyscrapers in downtown Bangkok, glittering like gemstones, and the vibrant streets not far away.
"A night like this? Sounds kind of romantic."
Mad Yu Ye: Tell us! Tell us! I’m interested too! Front row seat!
Ji Qinglin let out a long sigh and said,
"There was nothing romantic about it. It was just a plain old bloodbath."
Mad Yu Ye: A bloodbath? What happened? Did you get caught sleeping with someone’s wife?
