Chapter 10: Master Is a Beast
Chapter 10: Master Is a Beast
Watching Yu Ye’s graceful figure disappear into the distance, Sang Feng turned to the bartender, Kirk, and asked,
“The drug’s in?”
“Rest assured, sir. But just now, I don’t think she actually drank it.”
“Heh, this batch of Indian stuff is top-quality. Just a touch is enough to absorb it. Anything below version 5.0 of the Marrow Cleansing Sutra won’t be able to neutralize it. I’ll enjoy myself and come back to receive the goods.”
“Yes, sir!”
Looking at the tracker mark from the Mica Qilin Herb on his arm, Sang Feng licked his lips with a sinister smile.
“Come on, baby. Let’s see if you can still act so reserved in a different place.”
Following the signal, Sang Feng exited Nightfall Bar, turned right, and slowly walked into another street. Keeping his eyes on the red dot on the screen, he didn’t rush to catch up with Yu Ye. Instead, he maintained a certain distance.
One reason was to wait for the drug to fully take effect. The other was simply to enjoy this game of cat and mouse.
Maybe because all his attention was on Yu Ye, he failed to notice another figure had been trailing him for a while now.At the same time, Yu Ye felt the changes in her body growing more intense.
A feverish heat, chaotic thoughts, and an increasingly overwhelming primal urge were attacking her mind. She tried contacting Ji Qinglin, but there was no response. Left with no choice, she could only keep running forward.
She stumbled slightly as she ran out of the bar, but no one around paid much attention. A few opportunists who thought about taking advantage of her were quickly scared off by her sharp glare.
Mad Yu Ye: Can you still hold on? Need me to take over?
Cold Yu Ye: With your self-control? I bet you’d be making out with someone on the street in no time.
Mad Yu Ye: Blame that bastard Master of yours. Don’t think about those messed-up things right now. Just imagine that the street is full of gorillas. Female gorillas. You don’t want any of them, right?
Cold Yu Ye: Shut up!
Clenching her silver teeth, Yu Ye stumbled across another intersection. There were fewer people here now. But when she looked back, she saw that Sang Feng, who had been following her since Nightfall Bar, was only about twenty meters behind.
Shocked, Yu Ye turned and continued her desperate escape. If this didn’t work, she’d have to scream for help and go all out. Worst case, she’d just end up back in prison.
Seeing this, Sang Feng picked up his pace as well. If she managed to contact someone before he caught her, things could get troublesome. Fortunately, he had already arranged for the surveillance cameras on these streets to be disabled.
Just as Sang Feng locked his eyes on Yu Ye and prepared to seize her, someone brushed past him in the opposite direction.
At first, Sang Feng didn’t think much of it. But then, out of the corner of his eye, he caught a glimpse of a familiar face.
Curved brows, a bright smile—though the outfit was different, there was no mistaking it.
Ji Qinglin!
Sang Feng’s instincts flared, and he immediately went on high alert. But before he could make a move, he suddenly felt his right side—the one with the prosthetic—become unbearably heavy.
A virus? A matrix hack? A cyber attack?
As he lost his balance and dropped to one knee, several people within a few meters of him also wobbled and fell over—Ji Qinglin included.
The difference was that even as Ji Qinglin fell, he was still speaking. And since they were close enough, Sang Feng saw it clearly.
“Now!”
Before Sang Feng could react—
Boom!
A sudden explosion erupted from an old car behind Ji Qinglin, sending a wave of thick smoke billowing into the street.
The blast had no real force, but the spreading black smoke quickly enveloped the surrounding area. Sang Feng struggled to his feet and immediately stepped back, trying to reboot his prosthetic.
But before he could escape the smoke, someone emerged from behind and wrapped an arm around his neck, jabbing a syringe into him.
The neurotoxin took effect instantly, combining with the prosthetic virus. Sang Feng couldn’t even let out a scream before his body went stiff.
He tried moving his eyes, hoping to at least see who had attacked him. But even the simple act of turning his head was now impossible.
The last thing he saw before his vision dimmed was Ji Qinglin, who had also fallen earlier, now standing up within the cover of smoke.
Rubbing his shoulder as if nothing had happened, Ji Qinglin flashed a chilling smile before dashing out of the smoke.
“Good. No unexpected accidents. A little different from the plan, but whatever.”
Meanwhile, up ahead, Yu Ye had also been startled by the sudden explosion behind her.
“Mas… Ji Qinglin?”
No response. Yu Ye had no idea whether Ji Qinglin was involved in what had just happened.
But the strange sensation in her body was spreading faster and faster. She had no choice but to keep moving with the panicked crowd while keeping an eye on the situation behind her.
Even though this street wasn’t crowded, the people were now in chaos. As Yu Ye retreated backward, she accidentally bumped into someone.
Thinking it was Sang Feng catching up, she tried to jump away, but the person grabbed her arm.
Realizing the danger, Yu Ye immediately lashed out with a kick. But with her legs already weak, the kick had no force and nearly made her fall instead. The person caught her effortlessly, lifting her into their arms.
Cold Yu Ye: Fine, I’ll leave it to you!
In that split second, Yu Ye realized something—
The one holding her wasn’t Sang Feng.
It was the very person she had cursed at least a hundred times in the past ten minutes—her Master, Ji Qinglin.
“Oh? What a temper.”
“Where the hell were you?!”
Furious and exasperated, Yu Ye didn’t even bother calling him Master.
“Shh. We’ll talk on the way. Can you still walk?”
Shaking her head, Yu Ye instead tightened her arms around Ji Qinglin’s body, as if trying to vent her overwhelming desire through sheer physical contact—but it didn’t work.
Ji Qinglin carried her as they moved with the fleeing crowd, muttering,
“Hey, we need a pickup.”
“You said sharing a car was a risk.”
Glancing down at the dazed Yu Ye, who had buried her burning face in his chest, Ji Qinglin explained,
“Special circumstances. Besides, I can’t neutralize the poison in my disciple’s system.”
“Tch. I’ll wait for you at the next intersection.”
Ji Qinglin let out a small breath of relief and picked up his pace.
But whether it was because Yu Ye noticed him relax or because the drug had fully kicked in, her last bit of self-control finally snapped.
Her hands started roaming over Ji Qinglin’s firm body, her previously cold, sharp eyes now melting with intoxicated longing. The sweet breath she exhaled tickled his neck and ears.
Ji Qinglin cursed internally. What the hl did that guy use? This is way too strong. Stay calm. If this brat finds out I did anything to her, she’ll blow up the general store.
He carried Yu Ye to the next intersection, scanning for their ride—when suddenly, she lunged forward, her lips aiming straight for his.
Luckily, Ji Qinglin turned his head just in time to dodge.
But that exposed his neck—
Which Yu Ye promptly sank her teeth into.
“Hnnngh—!”
Ji Qinglin winced in pain, helpless. D*mn, kid, if you don’t know how to give a hickey, don’t just bite down like it’s a chunk of meat!
Beep beep—
Noticing the closed cargo van parked at the street corner honking, Ji Qinglin ran straight toward it.
He knew exactly what was inside the vehicle. Opening the passenger door, he realized there was no way to get in while carrying Yu Ye like this. He had to recline the passenger seat a bit.
Unexpectedly, Yu Ye cooperated, parting her legs slightly as she straddled Ji Qinglin’s waist, then pressing her whole body onto him.
Luckily, they had already gotten inside the vehicle, sparing them the embarrassment of being seen by people on the street.
“You damn conman, you really are a beast in human clothing. You’d even lay hands on your own disciple.”
