Chapter 944: Reinforcements

Chapter 944: Reinforcements

Chapter 944

Kael maintained his gaze on the three Generals, his expression remaining entirely composed despite the chaos surrounding him.

"What’s wrong? Scared to come confront me? Or are you waiting for something specific?"

The cracked-toothed General cast a swift, disdainful glance at the mage, a sneer curling his lip. "Be grateful we haven’t joined the fray yet."

"Hm. So, it’s fear then," Kael mocked, offering a small, mocking nod of his head.

Turning his attention back to the vast sea of enemies, he let out a quiet sigh.

’Until they move, let me ease the pressure on the others.’

Crackle—!

Arcs of electricity began racing across his form, saturating his lightning armor with volatile energy.

He leaned forward, muscles coiled and ready to dart into the heart of the enemy formation.

The Generals watched him, smirks playing on their faces as they calculated his move.

’Finally. Once your mana is exhausted, I’ll be interested to see how you handle us. Not that he could even dream of besting the three of us simultaneously, regardless,’ the bald General thought.

BANG—!

Kael blitzed into the midst of the host, lightning swords crackling in his grip as the mages redirected their focus toward him.

Within mere moments, a concentrated volley of spells was launched in his direction.

Magical strings coiled like serpents and lashed out, desperate to hinder his movement and dampen his incredible velocity.

But before they could ensnare him, his blades whipped forward, tearing the bindings to shreds.

Leaping to the side, he effortlessly dodged a massive wind sword that had been poised to rip through his torso.

The moment his boots touched the ground, lightning sizzled around his legs; with a thunderous crash, he accelerated forward, tearing through a dozen men like a high-speed bulldozer.

Twirling through the air like a jagged arrow, he clicked his tongue.

Instantly, a humongous lightning pillar screamed down from the darkened heavens, tearing through a cluster of a hundred men and shattering their formation.

They didn’t even have the time to cry out; they blinked, and they were simply gone—reduced to ash by the celestial strike.

Vaulting high into the air, Kael watched as an earth sword ripped the ground where he had been standing to shreds.

Leaping and weaving with rhythmic precision, he dodged a forest of earth spikes erupting from below, all seeking to impale him.

He was as fluid as water, phasing through the attacks as if they were never there to begin with.

CRASH—!

He suddenly bolted forward with breakneck speed.

The moment he impacted the ground, a massive shockwave blasted outward, throwing soldiers in all directions while secondary lightning strikes left them paralyzed and broken.

The Generals’ faces darkened at this display of raw power.

Within just two minutes, he had eliminated more combatants than his entire squad had managed in six.

Truly, he deserved his title as the Lunaria Demon.

Leaning his head to the side, a scrap of metal whistled past him with deadly velocity.

Whirling around almost immediately, he was met with a dozen metal spikes shooting at him like high-caliber bullets.

’Ah... nice.’

His lightning swords sizzled with renewed intensity as he began deflecting every single spike as if they were nothing.

His movements were fast and fluid; he was batting the metal projectiles away without allowing a single one to graze him.

He didn’t dodge, evade, or phase through this particular assault—he simply swatted them aside with contemptuous ease.

As the metal spikes continued their relentless flight, he glanced upward to see a torrent of ice spears closing in on his position.

Without needing to exert any visible effort, shadows crawled up from his feet and cloaked him in a dark embrace.

A second later, he vanished from view just as the ice spears crashed into the earth, kicking up a massive storm of dust that obscured everything.

The ground was instantly cratered from the sheer impact of the frozen barrage.

Kael reappeared in another direction, his lightning swords now vanished from view, leaving him encased only in his radiant armor and boots forged of pure electricity.

He held his hand backward, a cold, detached look in his eyes as he surveyed the four hundred men who had shifted their collective gaze onto him.

’I spent an entire year perfecting the spell I’m about to unleash, so you should all rejoice that I even deem you worthy of seeing it.’

"Lightning magic," Kael muttered, his brow furrowing as the element erupted around his palm.

It crackled with such overwhelming intensity that it appeared as though he were gripping a miniature sun.

The light was so blindingly brilliant that even those currently engaged in fierce combat elsewhere were forced to turn toward him.

The sphere of lightning acted as a beacon, drawing all attention and momentarily pausing the entire battlefield as soldiers and allies alike wondered what the Lunaria Demon was manifesting.

"Hollow Blue," Kael uttered with a chilling calmness that could make one’s skin crawl.

With a powerful haul of his arm, the massive lightning sphere screamed forward with breakneck speed.

The sparks flying from the orb—which felt as vast and inescapable as a small planet—ripped the very earth to shreds as it passed.

It didn’t just leave cracks; deep, jagged craters lined the ground in its wake.

Within a single second, it plowed into the ranks of the four hundred mages.

There was no immediate explosion.

No sudden detonation.

It simply ripped through them all as if they were mere parchment.

Their bodies were torn apart so effortlessly that they couldn’t even form a barrier strong enough to delay the orb for a heartbeat.

Blood sprayed into the air like a geyser, painting the battlefield in a grim mist.

The Generals’ mouths hung open in sheer shock at the spectacle.

Even the very ground the four hundred men had stood upon wasn’t spared; an enormous, hollow trench now dented the earth where the battalion had once been.

Pat—! Pat—! Pat—!

Kael casually dusted off his robes, surveying the scene of utter carnage as if it were a regular performance.

However, a hint of genuine disappointment remained on his features.

"Too bad. I was aiming for five hundred men. Tsk." He clicked his tongue with a dissatisfied shake of his head.

The entire battlefield fell silent for a moment, as still as a graveyard, in the wake of such a sudden flex of strength.

"... Now, where the hell are my reinforcements?!"

"Right here," a cold voice spoke from above.

Looking upward, Kael smirked.

A wind bird the size of a bus was screaming their way with lightning speed.

And perched upon the back of the massive creature were the reinforcements.
