Chapter 8: Roommate and Treasure

Chapter 8: Roommate and Treasure

This time, Li Ge didn't slow down, but gradually quickened her pace, heading in the direction indicated by the navigation.

After arriving at a fork in the road, Li Ge simply nodded politely and parted ways with her two future classmates.

Perhaps because the male and female dormitories are different, Li Ge's dormitory is closer to the mountainside, while their dormitory is closer to the foot of the mountain.

After parting ways, the Russian woman, who had been smiling, suddenly looked dejected and sighed.

"You seem to have angered him?" Sayo said, emerging from her shadow, still under her hood.

"Yeah, but I think I've figured it out now. No wonder he's a top student, while we just barely pass." She sighed again and headed towards the dormitory.

"Yes, we never thought about digging deeper into the information about that world. Now I understand that this entrance exam is not difficult at all. In fact, as long as we dig out the information and know that those monsters... those things are not monsters, but heroes who protect that land, we can easily get their help..." Xiaoye seemed to be reviewing the previous exam.

"How did he decipher the writing and pictures from that world?" The female knight scratched her short blonde hair, utterly puzzled.

They did find some intelligence, but the graffiti and text were too abstract for them to decipher, thus missing out on a lot of information.

"Perhaps his magic or other tools have the ability to decipher other texts and information, or even that he possesses a 'treasure'," Sayo said.

"A Noble Phantasm!" Valerie's tone was slightly surprised.

For her, even though she was the daughter of a viscount, treasures were just legendary things, the kind of treasures that only great heroes, warriors, or even legendary magicians who would go down in history could possess.

It is an artifact-like item formed from the life achievements and accomplishments of legendary heroes, with an extremely low probability of being created.

Among the freshmen who enrolled at the same time as him, some of them directly possessed a Noble Phantasm?

Dude, can you please not be so fussy?

"You'll have a Noble Phantasm in the future, maybe even tomorrow, but it'll be the lowest level one, and you'll need to nurture it gradually," Xiaoye said, adding, "The school's current mainstream teaching method is the 'Noble Phantasm build,' and I'm also planning to go down that path. He's just one step ahead of us."

"The fat guy we saw earlier, and that terrifying explosion at the end, might be the power of his Noble Phantasm," Xiaoye continued. She seemed to know more about the school, but of course, after entering this place, the value of this information was not high; at most, it was just knowing more a day in advance.

This intelligence was nothing, not even on the school's intranet forums.

"Oh, right, I just thought of something, maybe that's why he's angry. Those monsters we think of are very likely some kind of 'heroic spirits.' Yes, heroic spirits, I've seen that word in the family books." Valerie suddenly slapped her hand, as if she had just realized something.

"We actually missed such a great opportunity." She suddenly felt a little annoyed.

"There's nothing we can do. Those heroic spirits might have good intentions, but their appearances are too terrifying. We were fooled too. It's no use wallowing in self-pity now. Let's go to school first." Xiaoye also tapped her watch and slowly said, "Qualified student, Yellow dormitory, four-person room. It seems we're roommates again."

……

At the same time, Li Ge went straight to the dormitory for top students, which was indicated on the map.

While climbing the mountain, he suddenly heard a sound like a sonic boom cloud overhead. Looking up, he was surprised to find a senior student riding a skateboard-like device, his hair blown into a bald, slicked-back style in mid-air, still flying at supersonic speed.

Li Ge: "..."

Wait, are magic high schools really this wild? Their mode of transportation is all supersonic flying skateboards?

Just as Li Ge was complaining, several more figures in sonic boom clouds flew past behind him with a "whoosh," shouting: "Unlicensed driving! Speeding! Illegal lane changing! Not wearing protective magic array! You're under arrest! The disciplinary inspection department is making arrests, everyone get out of the way!"

Li Ge: "..."

So, was that senior who sped off earlier caught? And then he got his final act of freedom?

Li Ge gasped in shock, realizing that the school was not as simple as it seemed. This maneuver reminded him of how he used to evade the idiot LAPD when playing GTA.

Does it mean that you only commit a violation if you get caught, and you don't do anything wrong if you don't get caught?

Li Ge said she had learned something, and then continued on her way to the dormitory.

This time there were no more setbacks. Along the way, I could see some senior students. Unlike the magicians I had in my mind, they were all dressed very smartly. It seemed that the school did not require students to wear any particular clothes.

Meanwhile, some people were wearing standard light blue school uniforms, which looked quite handsome. When they saw Li Ge dressed as a freshman, they gave her a very polite smile.

It wasn't at all like the arrogant rich kid Li Ge had imagined, who would meet an arrogant guy at magic school, make enemies, and suddenly become a mortal enemy.

The senior students here are all talented, speak nicely, and are very polite. Li Ge also smiled politely the whole way.

Then he found his dormitory, which was indeed a detached single-story house with a small patch of green grass.

Upon seeing this piece of land, Li Ge felt his DNA stir; he even considered planting some cabbage, radish, or beans here immediately.

He gently rested his watch against the door, and the door opened instantly, filling him with a sense of exhilaration.

The simple layout of one living room and two bedrooms was enough to make Li Ge happy. After all, it was a student dormitory, and they actually had single rooms and even a living room.

There were signs that someone lived in the room, which showed that the roommate was an extremely clean person. The whole dormitory had a natural feel, with potted plants and flowers that Li Ge didn't recognize everywhere. The roommate was also a plant lover.

A large dining table, a sofa, and plenty of potted plants make up the appearance of the dormitory.

"Will my roommate be an upperclassman, or a freshman in the same year as me?" Li Ge wondered to herself before stepping inside.

Seeing no one, Li Ge continued, "Is anyone here? I'm a new student, and my future roommate."

There has still been no response.

It seemed her roommate wasn't home, Li Ge thought to herself. She looked at the unfamiliar potted plants, the largest of which was placed on the balcony behind the dormitory, where the sunlight shone brightly, giving it a crystal-clear luster.

Li Ge immediately became interested. He stepped forward and touched the potted plant's leaves, which resembled silver moons.

"This tree is pretty," Li Ge remarked.

As soon as he finished speaking, the potted plant suddenly melted, turning into a pool of clear water that flowed down the floor to the center of the room, "growing" upwards and quickly outlining a human figure. As the water receded, a figure with short, light green hair dressed in loose, plain clothes appeared.

"Hello, roommate," he said. "I'm a mutant elf. You can call me Yilian."
