Chapter Updates: Dec 15 2025Hey all,

I missed Saturday's chapter and will miss today's chapter as well. I wanted to apologize and take a few minutes to let you know why that's happened and to give you some insight into what's going on behind the scenes.

First, I've been taking time to think more deeply about the pacing and plot of volume 5 thus far. This caused me to stop and reconsider my plans for some of the upcoming events. I do this from time to time, especially at important milestones like midpoints and act transitions, but RR has been fairly insulated from the resulting pauses since I've had a backlog. That's not really true anymore, which means this pause-and-plot session resulted in a couple of chapters going missing over here.

I've also done some introspection on the upcoming year.

Mage Tank is doing very well as a series. In fact, the audiobook for book 1 has been running up the rankings this month, which looks like it's mainly due to an Audible sale. Still, it's made it to rank 175, which is the best rank we've seen for any of the audiobooks. That number is from, like, twelve or eighteen hours ago, so it might have more room to run. The fact that this is happening nine months post-launch, and when we haven't had an Audible release in nearly three months, is kind of incredible.

This is great. It also means that I'm reimagining what 2026 looks like as far as work and travel and etc. It's adding a lot of cognitive load since it means I have to make some hard decisions and it turns out that hard decisions are hard, hmmmmm...

Anyway, I'm figuring my shit out is what I'm saying. It's nothing for you folks to worry about. All roads lead to good outcomes for Mage Tank. There's a solid chunk of new stuff written so I should have chapters for Thursday and Saturday. After that, I'll be taking two weeks off for the holidays. I'll probably have another update when I get back. I'll also start yelling at everyone about book 4's Amazon release, which is on Jan 14. So, that'll be fun.
