Madman!

Chapter 117: Ruthless Methods

Chapter 117: Ruthless Methods

Chen Wujun dragged Chen Jinyong back into the karaoke parlor, though the latter still attempted to struggle.

Chen Wujun promptly dislocated his arm and snapped his right leg with a vicious kick, eliciting a pained grunt from Chen Jinyong.

As he was dragged into the private room, Chen Jinyong caught sight of Nguyen Phuc Hung, whose face was pale and forehead slick with cold sweat. Instantly, he understood everything.

If looks could kill, he would have flayed Nguyen Phuc Hung alive right then and there.

"You bastard! You colluded with outsiders to sell me out!" he roared. "If I make it out of here alive, I'll kill your whole family!"

Hearing this, the flicker of guilt in Nguyen Phuc Hung's eyes vanished instantaneously, replaced by a glint of savagery.

He knew Chen Jinyong was a man of his word.

Nguyen Phuc Hung immediately cursed back:

"Do you think I wanted to sell you out? Besides, you're no saint yourself! Don't think I don't know you embezzled the company's money and colluded with people from Beihe!"

Chen Wujun watched with amusement as Nguyen Phuc Hung and Chen Jinyong tore at each other like rabid dogs. His gaze swept over the other Pingchuan Gang underlings in the room, noting how they all averted their eyes. Not only had their courage been shattered, but witnessing their two leaders betraying and fighting each other in plain sight had stripped away all dignity. Something inside them had fundamentally collapsed.

"Chen Jinyong, where is Nguyen Minh Kim?" Chen Wujun asked calmly.

"Pah!" Chen Jinyong spat a mouthful of bloody saliva. "I knew this day would come the moment I stepped into this life! Do you think I'm like that spineless bastard?"

"True to your name, you really are brave," Chen Wujun said with a touch of sarcasm, playing on the word 'Yong' which means brave. He turned his head to Fa Zai. "Go find me a hammer. A big one."

He happened to need a chicken—someone to make an example of to scare the monkeys and intimidate these Pingchuan Gang minions.

He needed them to work for him.

West Embankment was different from North Port; this was the territory of the Luoyue People, and he was a stranger in a strange land.

He and his men were effectively blind and deaf here; they couldn't even gather basic intelligence.

He had been contemplating how to force these people into service. Winning their loyalty was too troublesome, and these Luoyue People would likely never serve him honestly.

Scaring them into submission temporarily would suffice.

Nothing compelled submission quite like violence.

A few minutes later, Fa Zai returned with a hammer. Its head was as large as a fist.

It was reasonably logical for a karaoke parlor to have a hammer lying around.

Chen Wujun took the hammer and looked down at Chen Jinyong. He suddenly found that he enjoyed the sensation of looking down on someone like this.

"Brother Yong, is it?"

"Hold him down."

Curry and Fa Zai immediately pinned Chen Jinyong to the floor.

Chen Jinyong stared at the hammer in Chen Wujun's hand. His body trembled, his face turned ashen, and he writhed ceaselessly, but he could not break free.

Yet, he gritted his teeth and remained silent.

Chen Wujun first removed the gold chain from Chen Jinyong's neck. It looked quite nice; it was his now.

Then, he swung the hammer in a full arc, smashing it violently onto Chen Jinyong's knee.

Crack!

"Aaaah!" A pained howl tore from Chen Jinyong's throat.

"So brave. I admire that!" Chen Wujun swung the hammer again, shattering Chen Jinyong's other knee.

"Walking won't be an option anymore, but that's alright. You can still crawl!" Chen Wujun grinned.

"Kill me if you have the guts!" Chen Jinyong roared hoarsely, his eyes bloodshot.

"Why would I kill you? I'm going to shatter your hands and feet—break them so thoroughly that not a single piece of bone remains intact. I'll make sure you spend the rest of your life crawling on the ground like a maggot. Then I'll throw you out onto the street as a warning to others."

He bent down, looked straight into the other man's eyes, and beamed. "Don't you agree?"

"Heh... Hahahaha!"

Not just Chen Jinyong, but everyone else from the Pingchuan Gang felt a bone-deep chill, a shudder rising from their very souls.

Nguyen Phuc Hung clenched his teeth, his body trembling slightly.

This demon... he wasn't just talking. He would actually do it.

Even Curry, Li Wei, and the others exchanged glances. While Brother Jun had been fierce and ruthless back in the Walled City—killing without hesitation when conflicts arose—this was different.

Since arriving here, he had become even more vicious, even more cruel.

However, they felt no sympathy. These Luoyue People had always been hostile toward Huayan People.

That was why Shengsha, the largest Luoyue gang in North Port, specialized in kidnapping and ransoming wealthy Huayan citizens.

They were in Luoyue territory now. One wrong move, and they would all die here.

If anything, Chen Wujun's ferocity and ruthlessness made them feel safer.

Chen Wujun raised the hammer and brought it down again and again on Chen Jinyong's joints. Splatters of blood flecked Chen Wujun's shoes and hands.

Bam! Bam! Bam!

Each blow felt as if it were landing on the onlookers themselves.

The Pingchuan Gang members turned their heads, too terrified to watch.

Chen Jinyong howled in agony, his face twisted and deformed. His body writhed, though even if Curry and Fa Zai hadn't been pinning him down, he could only have squirmed on the ground.

A moment later, Chen Wujun straightened up and addressed the others. "I need people to do things for me. Those willing to work for me, stand over here. Otherwise, you end up like him."

Chen Wujun wore a smile, but his eyes revealed the cruelty of a savage beast.

"Five, four, three, two..." As Chen Wujun counted down, the Pingchuan Gang minions all lowered their heads and shuffled to the side, dreading to meet his gaze.

"Here, smash him!" Chen Wujun handed the hammer to Nguyen Phuc Hung. "He just threatened to kill your whole family!"

"Aim for the limbs. Don't kill him! It won't be any fun if he dies."

Chen Wujun's casual tone made Nguyen Phuc Hung shudder even more. Balancing on his one good leg, he hopped over and smashed the hammer onto Chen Jinyong's arm.

"You lot..." Chen Wujun's gaze fell on the others.

One minion gritted his teeth, walked over, and took the hammer. He whispered, "Sorry, Brother Yong!"

Chen Wujun suddenly kicked the minion flying, breaking several of his ribs.

"Feeling that guilty? Want to join him?" Chen Wujun grinned viciously.

"Next!"

The other minions hurriedly picked up the hammer, rushed over, and struck Chen Jinyong's limbs. No one dared to say another word.

They were truly terrified of Chen Wujun.

"See that? I gave you a way out, but you chose death! You thought you were so brave, but the others are much wiser than you," Chen Wujun mocked, kicking Chen Jinyong in the waist.

"Go call the manager and the receptionist outside. And the waiters too," Chen Wujun ordered.

The karaoke staff had been locked in another room.

These men had now cast their lots; Chen Jinyong was still alive and undoubtedly wished to flay them alive for their betrayal.

Coupled with the deterrent of his brutal methods, they wouldn't dare cause trouble for the time being. They had no choice but to follow him down this dark path.

Of course, he still needed to compile a list of their home addresses.

"Write down where everyone lives and how many people are in their families. Work for me these coming days, and I guarantee you'll benefit. But if anyone talks, all of you will suffer!"

"I won't bother finding out who talked... so you'd better not only watch your own mouths but watch each other's mouths too."

"If someone talks, they are harming you and your entire family!"

"I'm not the one harming you. I'm giving you an opportunity; I'm giving you benefits. It's the loose lips that will destroy you!"

Chen Wujun spoke unhurriedly.

Everyone was silent as winter cicadas. When they looked at each other, their eyes held a different light.

Seeing their reaction, Chen Wujun knew he finally had some eyes, ears, and hands to use in West Embankment.

He genuinely felt he was giving these people a chance. Anyone else would have simply killed them all.

Yet he was giving them the opportunity to work for him.

They ought to bow and thank him.

"Oh, right. Get a doctor. Make sure to keep him alive!" Chen Wujun glanced at the unconscious Chen Jinyong.

Chen Wujun took Nguyen Phuc Hung to another room. "Call Chen Zhonghong and get him to come out. But we need a different location this time. Do you have anywhere else suitable for a meeting?"

Since he had just beaten Chen Jinyong outside and dragged him back in view of many witnesses, he naturally couldn't trick Chen Zhonghong into coming here.

After witnessing Chen Wujun's methods and seeing the example made of Chen Jinyong, Nguyen Phuc Hung had lost all will to resist.

He felt the man standing before him was a demon.

"I have a bar... just one street away."

"Call him. Tell him you want to introduce him to a big boss."

Nguyen Phuc Hung immediately made the call to Chen Zhonghong.

...

Half an hour later, at the bar down the street.

Chen Wujun brought only a few subordinates, along with Nguyen Phuc Hung and several of his bruised and battered minions.

"Brother Hung! What happened? Someone causing trouble?" Nguyen Phuc Hung's minions at the bar looked fierce upon seeing their boss and the others injured.

Especially since Nguyen Phuc Hung was using a crutch.

"We'll talk later. This is Mr. Chen. Treat him with the utmost respect from now on," Nguyen Phuc Hung ordered his men.

Then, wearing a fawning smile, he asked Chen Wujun cautiously, "Shall we go to the storage room in the back?"

The nearby minions looked shocked. Nguyen Phuc Hung usually feared no one, showing respect only to the big bosses.

Yet here he was, so deferential to this man, even obsequious.

They wondered who this man was.

"Here is fine," Chen Wujun said, eyeing the singer in the bar. Her face was average, but her figure wasn't bad.

Most importantly, he could listen to music here. Why go to a storage room?

"When Chen Zhonghong arrives, bring him over."

"Tell them to sing 'Dream Chaser'!" Chen Wujun pointed at the singer on stage.

He had been quite fond of 'Dream Chaser' lately.

Soon, the melody on stage softened.

"Let youth blow through your long hair, let it guide your dreams..."

Not long after, a man arrived with several subordinates, led over by a minion.

"Brother Hung, what big boss are you introducing me to?" Chen Zhonghong asked as he approached, his eyes scanning Chen Wujun before furrowing his brows.

Chen Wujun's physique bore the distinct signs of Old Arts cultivation. It was obvious he was an expert, and he carried an aura of hostility between his brows.

"A Huayanese? Brother Hung, since when did you start colluding with Huayan people?" Chen Zhonghong stopped in his tracks.

"Chen Zhonghong, interested in working for me? Nguyen Phuc Hung has agreed, and Chen Jinyong had no objections," Chen Wujun said with a smile as he stood up.

Chen Zhonghong's face changed drastically. "Nguyen Phuc Hung, you're betraying the company?" he shouted angrily.

"And colluding with a Huayanese at that? Do you have a death wish?"

Chen Wujun grinned. Just as expected, no one listened when he tried to be polite.

He immediately channeled his qi and blood, causing his body to swell in size. With a stomp, he launched himself in front of Chen Zhonghong, hands clasped in an arching hammer strike that whipped up a powerful current of air—domineering beyond measure.

A single reliable move conquers all; Chen Wujun found the Master's Three Arching Hands increasingly natural the more he used it.

Especially when combined with the Tiger Roaring Golden Bell Cover.

Even someone of similar strength would be beaten to death in two or three moves.

...

Bang!

Chen Zhonghong smashed through two tables and flew straight onto the stage, toppling the band.

Chen Wujun lunged after him, slapping Chen Zhonghong upside the head and leaving him seeing stars. Then, grabbing him by the neck like a kitten or puppy, he leapt off the stage.

The entire bar was stunned into silence by the scene.

Before Chen Zhonghong's minions could react, seven or eight men stood up from the nearby seats and surrounded them.

In mere moments, Chen Wujun carried Chen Zhonghong out the door and stuffed him into a car.
