Madman!

Chapter 101: Simply a Devil

Chapter 101: Simply a Devil

In the parking lot, several officers from the Federal Police located Ji Xiang's car.

"This is the car identified in the report... do we wait for the owner, or..."

"Pry the trunk open!" a foreign officer ordered.

The group pried the trunk open, only to find that the corpse mentioned in the report was missing.

"Damn it, we've been played."

One officer, unwilling to give up, rummaged through the items in the trunk and quickly noticed a tightly wrapped black plastic package.

He tore open the outer plastic, revealing several bags of white powder inside.

With a mix of surprise and disbelief, the officer poked a hole in one of the bags with his finger, inspected the contents, and confirmed his suspicion.

"What did you find?" A police car that had just received orders pulled up, and two officers stepped out to inquire.

"A bag of Number 4, about ten kilograms!"The officers present all lit up with joy. Ten kilograms of Number 4—this was a major case, enough to change the career trajectory of everyone on the scene.

"Who is the car owner?"

"The informant said his name is Ji Xiang... currently at the COCO Bar."

"Have the traffic division run the license plate, and get headquarters to look up anyone named Ji Xiang—real name, alias, or anyone with 'Ji Xiang' in their name..."

"There are too many people at the bar. We'll wait here, set up an ambush at the exits, and arrest him when he shows up."

...

Inside the bar, Fat Nan and Ji Xiang sat in a booth, their minions stationed nearby.

"I heard Shark Jiu's Head Horse was assassinated and critically injured. You didn't order that, did you? I heard you two have bad blood," Fat Nan remarked casually.

Ji Xiang had been forced out precisely because of that Chen Wujun.

"He's offended so many people; why would it be me?" Ji Xiang smiled, taking a sip of his drink.

"Good... after all, killing a fellow disciple is a major taboo. If you did it and Shark Jiu got hold of proof, even Master Xin wouldn't be able to protect you."

"Relax, it has nothing to do with me. I've cut ties with that side completely; their affairs are none of my business." As Ji Xiang spoke, his heart was still filled with resentment.

He had followed Shark Jiu for so long, poured in so much blood and sweat. And for what?

A brat pops up out of nowhere and steps on his head in the blink of an eye.

Fat Nan nodded, also believing Ji Xiang hadn't done it, then changed the subject. "Contact those clients in the Walled City... offer them some discounts."

Ji Xiang held a list of numerous clients who had borrowed money from Shark Jiu. Although some had paid off their debts, who said people only borrowed once?

Just poaching those clients would be worth millions, simply for the list in his hands.

And stealing these clients would suppress Shark Jiu.

"I know, but give it a few days..." Ji Xiang said. He knew stealing Shark Jiu's clients would definitely enrage her.

But he had no choice.

"As long as you know what you're doing. Once you handle this well, I'll introduce you to a major backer. A real moneybags, not small-time players," Fat Nan promised, dangling a carrot in front of him.

Ji Xiang stayed in the bar for nearly three hours before finally walking out with his arm around a woman.

Two minions accompanied him.

"That guy finally came out... Is that woman his girl? Does he have such poor taste?" Chen Wujun watched Ji Xiang crossing the street in the distance, speaking playfully.

"His taste must be terrible, otherwise why would he go follow Master Xin?" Fa Zai said immediately, even though he couldn't clearly see what the woman next to Ji Xiang looked like.

"Such a smooth talker. Want to be a Head Horse?" Chen Wujun laughed and patted Fa Zai's shoulder.

"You'll have to work harder then!"

Seeing Ji Xiang enter the parking lot, he pushed open the door and got out of the car.

Over there, Ji Xiang led his people into the parking lot. Not long after entering, he sensed something was wrong. He saw two police officers seemingly looking for something, yet constantly stealing glances at him.

As a New Arts expert, his perception was keen, even if he hadn't reached the level of heightened five senses.

Ji Xiang quickly thought it over; he shouldn't have committed any crimes recently.

As for the business in the Walled City... the police wouldn't trace it to him.

"Boss, cops!" A minion noticed as well and warned him.

"So what if they're cops? I haven't done anything. Police need evidence to act," Ji Xiang snorted softly.

"They shouldn't be here for us."

The group arrived at the car. Just as the minion took out the key to enter, several officers suddenly swarmed from the side, pointing guns at Ji Xiang and his men.

"Freeze! Hands on your heads and squat down! You're under arrest!"

"Is this a mistake? What crime did I commit?" Ji Xiang hadn't yet realized the severity of the problem and stood in place with his minions.

"Squat down!" The officers nervously aim their guns at the group.

Especially at Ji Xiang—his physique clearly identified him as a New Arts martial artist, giving them every reason to be nervous.

"Fuck, think you're special because you're cops? You need a reason to arrest people, right?" Ji Xiang clasped his hands behind his head and slowly squatted, turning his head to glare ferociously at the officers.

"We suspect you are involved in a major drug case. You have the right to remain silent..." The leading officer spoke while signaling the others to restrain them.

Two officers moved in to handcuff Ji Xiang's minions.

These handcuffs were made of special alloy; even a New Arts martial artist couldn't easily break them.

"Drugs? You've got it wrong. I never touch that stuff!" Ji Xiang wore an expression of absurdity.

"Whether we got it wrong will be clear once we open your trunk." The officer's sharp gaze fixed on the trunk.

Ji Xiang felt a faint sense of unease, his mind racing.

'Damn, is someone framing me?'

Ji Xiang's expression fluctuated as he let the officers handcuff him. Only then did an officer step forward, open the trunk, and pull out a package wrapped in black plastic.

"What do you have to say now? Ten kilograms of Number 4—enough to make you sit in prison until you rot."

Seeing this, Ji Xiang's eyes immediately widened, filled with venom and rage. "You planted it on me!"

He was completely stunned.

"You can tell the judge we used ten million worth of Number 4 to frame you!" an officer sneered.

When Ji Xiang processed what ten kilograms and ten million represented, he felt as if a bucket of ice water had been poured over him from head to toe. He instantly sobered up.

He knew he had been framed.

Using ten million worth of Number 4 to frame him... what a massive ploy...

He couldn't go with these police officers. If he went with them, he was finished!

With ten million worth of Number 4 in his car, he couldn't explain his way out of this.

Since the other party used such a grand gesture to frame him, there must be more waiting for him. He might not even make it to the police station.

Just as the police tried to shove him into the car, Ji Xiang suddenly exploded into action. He kicked an officer away, sprinted several meters, and vaulted over the trunk of a car.

Bang! Bang!

Several gunshots rang out.

Ji Xiang bent low, his body weaving rapidly between the cars.

He quickly rushed near the parking lot exit.

Two officers drew their guns. "Freeze! Stop or we'll shoot!"

Adrenaline surged through Ji Xiang. His eyes locked onto the officers' hands. The moment they fired, he pushed off the ground, darting to the side.

He began to close the distance using a bizarre, serpentine movement.

Bang bang bang bang bang bang!

The two officers fired continuously, but the bullets all struck the ground near Ji Xiang.

Seeing him charge like a ferocious tiger, sweat beaded on their foreheads.

Bang!

Ji Xiang's body jerked suddenly, a patch of red blooming on his shoulder.

But he had already reached them. A leg swept out like a great axe, slamming into an officer's chest and sending him flying.

Immediately following up, he spun to dodge another shot and kicked the other officer away.

Then he turned and ran.

Bursting out of the parking lot, he saw a police car parked on one side. Instinctively, he ran in the opposite direction. After sprinting several dozen meters, he saw an alley and dove into it.

Across the street, Chen Wujun quickly crossed the road and entered the alley. The muscles on his back swelled like wings as he powered his legs to give chase.

Ji Xiang hadn't run far when he sensed someone pursuing him. Glancing back, he saw a figure chasing with the swiftness and aura of a tiger.

"Ji Xiang, why do you look so pathetic?" Chen Wujun grinned, revealing a set of white teeth.

Hearing that familiar voice, Ji Xiang felt cold all over.

Chen Wujun.

Why is it him!

Ji Xiang was filled with horror. Before he could form another thought, Chen Wujun had already pounced behind him, raising a hand like a steel whip to strike him down.

In that critical moment, Ji Xiang gritted his teeth, spun around, and delivered a sweeping kick.

He could send a police officer weighing over a hundred and fifty pounds flying with a single kick.

However, Chen Wujun simply extended his left hand to catch Ji Xiang's leg, swept his own leg underneath, and sent Ji Xiang tumbling into the air.

The moment he hit the ground, Chen Wujun's fist crashed down like a steel hammer.

Bang!

Ji Xiang's vision went black instantly, his head buzzing.

Chen Wujun raised his fist and struck again.

Bang!

Ji Xiang's head deformed under the impact.

Chen Wujun stood up, feeling a wash of satisfaction in his heart.

"Finally beat this scum to death; I feel refreshed from head to toe."

He hadn't walked far back when footsteps echoed from the alley entrance. Two foreign officers chased in.

Chen Wujun's eyes darted around, and he immediately flattened himself against the wall.

He pointed deeper into the alley. "Officer, that way."

The two foreign officers didn't have time to think. Seeing that Chen Wujun's clothes didn't match the suspect's, they ran past him.

However, just as the second one ran past, Chen Wujun slapped the back of his head, sending him face-planting into the ground.

The first officer sensed something wrong. Just as he started to turn, he felt a large hand grip the back of his neck.

"If I apply just a little force, your neck will snap..." Chen Wujun whispered from behind the officer's back, a smile in his voice. He reached out to take the gun from the officer's hand and glanced at the ID hanging on his chest.

"P7112, Senior Constable... Hahn... Do you want to be draped in the federal flag... or do you want a promotion and a raise?"

"You... what do you want..." Hahn felt as if a beast were behind him; his legs trembled slightly.

"I want to do you a favor." Chen Wujun pushed Hahn forward about twenty meters until they saw Ji Xiang on the ground.

Chen Wujun shoved the gun back into Hahn's hand, grabbed his hand to point it at Ji Xiang's corpse, and whispered in his ear, "Kill him, and you'll be a hero of the Federal Police... tomorrow you'll find 200,000..."

Hahn felt the man behind him was simply a devil.

"See, aren't I helping you? Shouldn't you thank me?"

As he spoke, Chen Wujun pressed Hahn's finger and pulled the trigger.

Bang bang bang bang bang bang!

He held it until the gun's magazine was empty. Only then did Chen Wujun release his hand, pick up a fist-sized stone from nearby, and stuff it into Hahn's hand.

"The wounds won't match perfectly, but it doesn't matter... New Arts martial artists don't die easily even when shot. You killed him only after a life-and-death struggle... go smash his head a few times..."

"Others will be here soon, so you'd better hurry..."

"Otherwise, I'll have to help cover you with the federal flag..."

Hahn gritted his teeth. He knew the man behind him was a vicious scoundrel.

But choosing between a funeral flag and a promotion was easy.

Besides, the man in front of him was a suspect anyway.

Hahn took the stone, stepped forward, and gritting his teeth, smashed it against Ji Xiang's head several times.

"Right, right there, put some back into it... harder..."

Chen Wujun coached him with a smile.

"But even if a New Arts martial artist is shot, no one will believe you killed him without a scratch, right?"

"Let me help you out!"

Chen Wujun kicked Hahn hard in the arm.

Hahn slammed into the wall with a grunt of pain, sweat pouring down his forehead from the agony.

"Don't be nervous, it's for your own good."

"By the way, you have a colleague. I'll go take care of him for you!" Chen Wujun suddenly remembered there was another person behind them.

"No..." Hahn cried out in alarm.

"I can handle him..."

"That would be best..." Chen Wujun's ears twitched as he heard footsteps in the distance.

His figure vanished quickly.

Only then did Hahn collapse on the ground, gasping for air, his entire body soaked in sweat.

"Jack?"

"Hahn!"

"Hahn, are you alright?"

"Quick, call for help! Get him to the hospital!"
