Chapter 186: Signed!
Chapter 186: Signed!
Serika continued to look around at the environment in fascination, her ears constantly twitching as she inhaled the soft fragrance of blooming night-flowers drifting in from the gardens below.
Meanwhile, Jax stepped forward and gently pushed open the door to his chamber, "Let’s not leave the Queen waiting until morning."
Serika blinked as she heard that, "Huh?"
Jax just ignored her, holding up the glowing scroll, "We should read this now and make our decision,"
Sabrina smirked slightly, "Good answer."
They stepped into Jax’s room together.
The moment they entered, soft lights brightened automatically along the curved walls. The chamber was enormous compared to most bedrooms.
The bed alone looked large enough for six people comfortably.
Living vines curved along the ceiling like elegant natural chandeliers, holding softly glowing crystals that illuminated the room with warm golden light.
A wide balcony stood open to the valley beyond.
Night had fully settled over the Faerie Realm, but darkness here was nothing like the mortal world.
The forest below shimmered with millions of glowing flowers, drifting lights, and luminous streams. It looked like an ocean of stars had settled across the land.
Serika ran to the balcony immediately.
"Master! Come look!"
Jax stepped over beside her and took in the absolutely breathtaking view.
Floating islands drifted slowly across the glowing sky while tiny spirits danced above the treetops like playful fireflies, and somewhere far below, the faint sound of flowing water echoed softly through the valley.
Serika leaned against the railing, her three tails swaying happily.
"I feel like I’m inside a dream."
Jax smiled faintly.
"It does have that effect."
Sabrina walked past them and dropped into a chair near a round crystal table in the center of the room.
"Dream or not, we still have work."
She tapped the table lightly.
"Bring the contract."
Jax chuckled quietly and joined her.
Serika reluctantly left the balcony and hurried over.
Jax placed the glowing scroll on the table and slowly unrolled it. The moment the parchment fully opened, the runes etched across its surface lit up softly.
Ancient magic stirred faintly in the air.
Sabrina leaned closer immediately.
"Oh... this is serious magic."
Jax nodded slightly. The parchment contained dozens of sections written in flowing script. Each line pulsed faintly with magical binding runes.
Serika tilted her head.
"Binding magic?"
Sabrina nodded.
"Yes."
She tapped one glowing symbol.
"This type of contract enforces honesty."
Another rune shimmered faintly near the bottom of the first page.
"And this prevents hidden clauses from forming after the agreement is signed."
Serika blinked.
"That’s... actually really fair."
Jax began reading aloud.
"Section One: Recognition of Sovereignty."
His eyes moved smoothly across the lines.
"The Faerie Realm recognizes the Demon Kingdom as a sovereign power under the authority of Demon King Jax."
Sabrina nodded approvingly.
"Standard diplomatic acknowledgement."
Jax continued.
"The Demon Kingdom recognizes the autonomy and neutrality of the Faerie Realm."
"Both parties agree to respect the borders and dimensional integrity of the other."
Serika tilted her head again.
"Dimensional integrity?"
Sabrina answered immediately, "They’re protecting their realm from intrusion."
She glanced up at Jax.
"Smart clause."
Jax continued reading.
"Section Two: Trade and Infrastructure Cooperation."
A diagram appeared faintly within the magic of the contract, displaying a miniature version of the Demon Kingdom’s High-Speed Mana Train network.
Serika leaned forward curiously.
"Oh!"
Jax read the clause carefully.
"The Demon Kingdom will provide engineering knowledge and magical infrastructure required to construct High-Speed Mana Railways and other advanced technologies,"
"The Faerie Realm will compensate the Demon Kingdom through a twenty-five percent profit share from all trade conducted via said infrastructure and access to unfiltered access to any products created within the Faerie Realm.
Sabrina whistled softly.
"That’s... generous."
Jax nodded.
"Very."
He continued.
"The Faerie Realm will maintain full operational responsibility within their territory."
"The Demon Kingdom will retain intellectual ownership of the technology."
Sabrina smirked.
"They can use it, but they can’t claim it."
"Good protection."
Serika’s tails swished thoughtfully.
"So we still control the invention."
"Exactly," Sabrina replied.
Jax moved on.
"Section Three: Agricultural Partnership."
This section was far longer.
Magical diagrams of farmland appeared across the parchment.
"The Faerie Realm will provide Nature Magic specialists to assist the Demon Kingdom in soil enhancement."
"Accelerated crop growth."
"Forest ecosystem stabilization."
"Water purification systems."
Serika’s ears perked again.
"That means better food for everyone."
Jax nodded.
"And sustainable farming, which is what the Witches have been working on,"
Sabrina continued reading alongside him.
"There’s also a clause about transferring seed variants."
She pointed to a section glowing green.
"Rare Faerie crops."
Serika leaned in closer.
"What kind of crops?"
Sabrina read aloud.
"Moonleaf grains."
"Sunroot vegetables."
"Golden orchard fruits."
Serika’s eyes sparkled.
"That sounds delicious."
Jax smiled slightly.
"Probably is."
They continued reading.
"Section Four: Quality of Life Enhancement."
This section included urban improvements.
Living architecture techniques.
Climate regulation magic.
Clean water systems.
Magical lighting grown from enchanted plants.
Sabrina leaned back slightly.
"If even half of this works..."
She shook her head.
"The Demon Kingdom will become the most comfortable place to live on the entire continent."
Serika giggled.
"More people will want to move there."
"Exactly," Sabrina said.
Jax moved on to the next section.
"Section Five: Trade Exclusivity."
This one caught all three of their attention.
"The Faerie Realm agrees to cease trade with the Holy Church and the Kingdom of Lumeria."
Serika blinked again.
"They really meant it..."
Jax continued reading.
"This clause may only be reversed if the Demon Kingdom violates the terms of this agreement."
Sabrina nodded.
"That’s fair."
She folded her arms.
"They’re tying their trust directly to our behavior."
Jax continued scanning the lines carefully.
Every section was thorough. There were even clauses ensuring fair arbitration if disputes occurred.
Serika frowned slightly at one section.
"Wait... what does this mean?"
She pointed to a rune near the bottom.
Sabrina leaned closer.
"That’s a magical truth seal."
"If either side intentionally deceives the other..."
"The contract weakens."
Jax nodded slowly.
"Meaning betrayal would destroy the agreement automatically."
Serika looked impressed.
"That’s actually really honorable."
They continued reading for nearly an hour, checking every single clause and rune to make sure it was all perfect.
Sabrina checked the magical structures carefully while Jax analyzed the political implications and Serika asked questions whenever something confused her.
By the time they reached the final page, the room had grown quiet again.
Jax rolled the scroll slowly closed.
"Well?"
Sabrina leaned back in her chair. She looked thoughtful, but also... impressed.
"Honestly?"
She shrugged.
"This contract is nearly perfect."
Serika nodded eagerly.
"It’s really fair."
Jax nodded and placed the contract on the table, "I’ll be signing it for sure. For now, let’s all get some rest,"
Jax said and the other two nodded, leaving the room and heading to their own private rooms to get a good night of sleep.
