Lucky Golden Dragon in the 80s: My Dad? I Switched Him for a Better One

Chapter 94: You’re Just Jealous

Chapter 94: You’re Just Jealous

When Liu Yingzi heard this, her blood pressure shot through the roof.

"You little bitch, what do you mean by that? Are you saying my daughter is so malicious that she’d throw herself down the stairs just to frame you? Do you take me for a fool? You think I’d believe your twisted logic?"

She glared daggers at Shanshan.

"I didn’t push her!"

Shanshan straightened her back, repeating each word deliberately.

"She suddenly rushed at me, like she was trying to crash into me. I dodged backward and avoided her, but she lost her footing, lost her balance, and rolled down the stairs. I never touched her. From start to finish, I didn’t even brush against her clothes. If you don’t believe me, you can ask the other students. Everyone saw it."

"You’re lying!"

Cao Jiajia sobbed.

"You did push me! You’ve always hated me! You’re jealous that I have a mommy and daddy who love me! You’re lying! You’re a liar! You’re a bad kid!"

Shanshan gave her a cool glance.

’This kid is so annoying.’

’She’s the one who did something wrong, yet she’s trying to blame me.’

Liu Yingzi watched her daughter sobbing, her whole body trembling.

Then she looked back at Shanshan, who wouldn’t even offer a single "I’m sorry."

"You think I don’t know what you’re up to? You’re just jealous that Jiajia has a father who dotes on her and a mother who protects her! You’re jealous that she lives an honest life, unlike you—unloved by a father or mother since you were a child! Today... I’m going to teach you a lesson! I’ll show you just how worlds apart we are!"

Before she could finish, she lunged forward, her right hand raised high.

Just in the nick of time, a large, strong hand shot out from the side.

"Don’t move."

Liu Yingzi froze, slowly turning her head.

"Dad, you’re here?"

Shanshan said softly.

"I’m fine."

She stood on her tiptoes, trying to block Ling Anxun’s view with her small body.

Ling Anxun strode into the office and swept his daughter into his arms.

Only then did he slowly lower his head, his gaze sweeping over the family of three—Liu Yingzi and her husband and daughter—standing opposite him.

"Dad, I didn’t interrupt your work, did I?"

Shanshan tilted her little face up and asked cautiously.

"It’s fine. Don’t you worry about it."

Ling Anxun lowered his head and gently ruffled her hair with his fingertips.

’This child,’ he thought. ’She’s never complained, not once. She always swallows her grievances and keeps them to herself.’

"Um... Shanshan’s father, please, have a seat..."

Teacher Yang, who had been the first on the scene, hurried forward and quickly recounted the incident.

"The morning exercises had just ended when both children fell on the stairwell landing. According to other students, there might have been some pushing and shoving, but it was crowded and chaotic, so no one is sure who started it. Cao Jiajia hit the back of her head on the edge of a step and bled a little, but the school nurse has already treated it. As for Shanshan, she scraped her arm a bit."

"Right now, both sides are sticking to their stories. One says the other pushed her on purpose, while the other flatly denies it. There’s no security footage of the area, and no eyewitnesses can confirm what happened. So... we’ve reached a stalemate. We’ll have to let you parents discuss a solution among yourselves."

"What’s there to discuss?"

Cao Daqiang shot to his feet and slammed his palm on the desk.

"My daughter needed three stitches in her head! There was blood everywhere! And you’re saying you can’t determine who’s responsible? Fine! If you don’t pay ten thousand yuan for emotional distress, medical bills, and follow-up care, no one is walking out of this room today!"

"What?!"

The teachers in the room were all stunned.

"That’s outrageous... Besides, there’s no proof that Shanshan pushed her..."

"Dad, don’t agree!"

Shanshan suddenly whispered in Ling Anxun’s ear.

After speaking, she squirmed out of Ling Anxun’s arms and landed firmly on her feet.

’I’m not letting those bad people get anything!’

’Bully someone and then expect a payday?’

’No way!’

"Why should we pay?!"

She raised her hand and pointed directly at Cao Jiajia, who was a blubbering mess in the corner.

"You’re the one who slipped and fell! You even looked back at me with hatred in your eyes! Did you think I didn’t see you? You just can’t stand that I’m popular in class! When the teacher asks a question no one else can answer, I can! When I came in first in the relay race at the sports meet, all the students applauded for me! You’re jealous! You’re just jealous!"

"You have to count on your fingers for the simplest addition and subtraction, you copy my homework, and then you turn around and tattle on me, saying I bullied you! You’re the one who’s a total pain!"

An unseen ray of light silently flowed from her fingertip and into the wound on Cao Jiajia’s forehead.

Cao Jiajia immediately retorted.

"Oh, you think you’re so great? If you hadn’t dodged so quickly, you’d be the one lying on the ground right now!"

"Jiajia! What nonsense are you spouting!"

Liu Yingzi’s face changed. She shot up from her seat and rushed over, trying to cover Cao Jiajia’s mouth.

But she was a step too slow.

Cao Jiajia stood there, hiccuping between sobs.

"It was her! She’s the one who pushed me! I just instinctively dodged, lost my balance, and fell! She didn’t help me, she did it on purpose!"

Shanshan turned and buried herself in her father Ling Anxun’s arms.

"BOOHOO... Dad, I really didn’t push her. Everything I said is the truth! I’ve been so wronged..."

Ling Anxun stood to the side, watching his daughter’s masterful performance, and almost lost his composure.

"Teacher, I believe the situation is quite clear now."

"Clear my ass!"

Cao Daqiang leaped to his feet.

"My daughter just hit her head, she’s still dizzy! Can you take her words seriously? This whole mess was caused by that little brat! She’s the one who started it all!"

However, the teachers weren’t deaf, and they certainly weren’t stupid.

They spent every day with these children. They knew full well which kids were well-behaved and which parents were unreasonable.

But Cao Daqiang wouldn’t give up, continuing to shout and scream.

In the end, the farce just fizzled out.

After such a disgusting incident, Ling Anxun was already seething with rage.

He had no intention of letting Shanshan suffer such injustice at this school again, so he called his driver right then and there and took his daughter straight home.

Back in their quiet living room, Ling Anxun sat on the sofa and gently placed Shanshan on his lap.

"Shanshan, do you find Cao Jiajia annoying?"

"She’s the worst!"

Shanshan nodded without hesitation.

"She’s always crying and putting on an act. It’s incredibly annoying."

"But, with her around, I’m never bored. She’s so easy to tease. Every time I poke her a little, she stomps her feet, screams, and starts crying. It’s really fun, even more entertaining than playing with building blocks."

Ling Anxun was taken aback for a moment.

"Are you saying... you want to be friends with her?"

"No."

Shanshan tilted her head.

"I’m playing her."

Ling Anxun froze, then looked at his daughter’s deadpan expression and let out a laugh.

"Alright, if you enjoy playing, then go ahead and play."

He said with a smile, ruffling her little head.

"But remember, don’t take it too far, don’t cause any real trouble, and most importantly, don’t get hurt yourself."

"Hee hee, don’t worry, Dad!"

Shanshan giggled and patted her little chest reassuringly.

"Her? She’d be lucky to even touch me. I’m faster than her, my reflexes are quicker. She can’t even touch the hem of my clothes."
