Loving Madeline

Chapter 358: She Said Yes!

Chapter 358: She Said Yes!

I was talking with Hunter when I saw Charlotte walking down the stairs. I held my breath as I watched her walk like a ramp model, and I couldn’t stop gazing at the woman of my life. Her gown was a vibrant crimson, as bold as a blooming rose in the midst of winter.

Her gown was a masterpiece of elegance, flowing like liquid silk with every step she took. It was a concept of beauty, glowing under the lights as though it were knitted from starlight.

The expensive dress was a gift from Maddie. It hugged Charlotte’s figure perfectly, cascading down in soft, graceful folds. Made from luxurious satin, the gown glistened with a subtle sheen that caught the light beautifully. Its delicate lace overlay added an air of romance, with intricate floral patterns trailing along the hem and bodice.

"You are so beautiful, Babe," I whispered in her ear as I pulled her closer, feeling proud that she was mine.

"Thank you, Jack. You look so hot yourself that I wish I could be alone with you," she replied with a glint of mischief in her smile.

"Right now?" I asked, and she looked around and shook her head.

"We can be alone later. I didn’t want Madeline to miss us. This is her party, and we should enjoy it with our families. I didn’t expect Lianne and your mom would be joining us, " my hot girlfriend declared.

"Maddie adored my family and wanted them to be with her all the time," I answered, and I could see the flash of jealousy that she quickly hid by smiling at me.

I took Charlotte’s hand and guided her to the grand ballroom of Madelins’s grandfather’s castle.

The whole place was transformed into a dazzling wonderland, with twinkling lights hanging like stars and an air of excitement buzzing around the room. The party music pulsed through the ballroom, a rhythmic heartbeat setting the tone for a night of celebration and joy.

The entire room shimmered with elegance, expensive chandeliers casting golden hues, tables adorned with elegant centerpieces, and a sea of impeccably dressed guests seated on their seats.

The crowd was a kaleidoscope of vibrant personalities, laughter, and chatter blending into a symphony of joy. Every corner of the room was alive with conversation, laughter punctuating the air as friends and strangers mingled effortlessly.

I could say Madeline turned into a perfect socialite and a good host. Her guests exuded glamour, their outfits sparkling as brightly as their smiles, each one bringing their unique charm to the event."

Lavish platters of delicacies lined the tables, the aroma of gourmet cuisine wafting through the air and enticing every guest. The bar was a centerpiece of the party, where mixologists created colorful cocktails that were as much a feast for the eyes as they were for the palate.

Wine glasses clinked in endless toasts, champagne bubbling like the excitement that filled the room while some couples started dancing on the dance floor, and I dragged Charlotte to the center even if she told me she didn’t want to dance. I slowly put my hands on her waist, and she seductively curled her arms around my neck.

We danced to the rhythm, and I felt so happy at the moment.

"May I dance with my sister?" Hunter asked, offering her hand to his sister while Madeline offered her hand to me with a beautiful smile on her face.

"Oh, Jack, I am so happy that you came with Charlotte. You brought out the best of her, and you looked good together," Maddie said as we started dancing. It felt good dancing with her, and this time, I could finally look at her eyes without hurting. I could finally say I was over her.

"Thank you for the invitation, Maddie," I replied Ed.

"I shouldn’t have disagreed with you when you told me Charlotte was just like any other girl. I hated her for hurting you, and I could say you were a great judge of character. You saw something I didn’t, and I am glad I got to know her," I added.

"Oh, Jack, you are so in love with Charlotte!" Madeline exclaimed; her smile was beautiful; it wasn’t because it was perfect, but it was a genuine smile that warmed my heart.

"Look at you; you are blushing!" she teased me as I tried to control my emotions.

"I am happy for you," she continued, and I was lost for words.

The party indicated no signs of calming down. Laughter rippled through the air, mingling with the festive rhythm of the music that kept feet tapping and bodies swaying. Conversations overlapped, creating a vibrant voice hum filling every corner of the space.

The energy inside the grand ballroom was electric as guests clinked glasses, their cheers growing louder with every toast. The dance floor pulsed with movement, and even those who had planned to leave hours ago found themselves drawn back into the fun.

Time seemed to fade as guests lingered, caught in the warmth of good company. Some were deep in conversation, while others were sharing stories and laughter without care.

The party that Madeline hosted was the kind of gathering you didn’t want to leave, where everyone’s smiles were genuine and the hours passed like minutes. The joy was palpable, making every moment like a celebration of life.

"It was a fantastic party, my love," Hunter said after all the guests left, except family members and us. He pulled his wife closer to him, and I realized Madeline belonged to Hunter. I could only laugh as I remembered the time I cursed and hated Hunter Divenson.

I wished he didn’t exist so I could have Madeline for myself, but now, I realize he is the only person who could make Maddie happy, and I couldn’t be happier that they ended up together.

I couldn’t contain myself from feeling happy when I saw Charlotte talking with my mother and sister. They seemed to be in deep conversation, and they got along so well and made me feel so relaxed that everything seemed perfect for us.

We said goodbye to my mother, Lianne, Charlotte’s family, and Maddie. We left ahead of them since Cecily called and informed us that she needed our presence at the manor.

We got so busy the following months running the manor and the hotel in the downtown area that we rarely spent time alone together since she usually stayed at the hotel in Barcelonia capital to oversee the hotel’s operation.

We only had time on weekends, but we mostly discussed work, upcoming functions, and coordination meetings with the managers and supervisors. I noticed Charlotte’s disappointment, and I wanted to cheer her up by booking a two-night and three-day stay at the mountain resort in Barcelonia.

"Thank you for bringing me here, Jack." She said, putting her arms around my neck from behind as I sat on the chaise lounge in front of the infinity pool.

"I want to be alone with you," I said as I stood up and walked around the chair. I put my arms around her waist, putting my chin on the nook of her shoulder, and we stayed like that for a long time.

I planned a romantic dinner under the starry night and couldn’t stop looking at her beautiful face. There was one thing I had been dreaming of for a long time.

"What are you doing, Jack?" She asked. Her eyes glistened with unshed tears as I got down on one knee after we had our dessert.

"From the moment I got to know the real you, I fell in love with you deeper than I could ever love someone. I couldn’t imagine my life without you by my side for the rest of my life." I responded, trying to contain the loud pounding of my heart.

"Charlotte, will you marry me?" I asked, and the expression I saw on her face was priceless. She smiled and nodded her head, tears in her eyes.

"Yes! Yes! Jack! I want to be your wife and spend my life with you forever." She softly replied as I slowly pulled her hand and gently put the ring on her finger. I got up, cupped her face, and kissed her on the lips for a long time, and when I let go of her mouth, we were both breathless.

An overwhelming mix of emotions that are hard to put into words enveloped my heart. It was a tide of pure joy and happiness as if the world just became brighter and more beautiful. It felt like my heart was soaring, and I couldn’t stop smiling. I felt relieved that I had released all the nervous energy and anticipation I had been holding onto.

It was like a weight lifted off my chest, replaced by an incredible lightness. My heart was filled with gratitude for my chance to love again. : A deep sense of appreciation for the love we share and for her saying yes to spending her life with me.

"I am so thankful to have you in my life, Jack. Thank you so much. I thought you would never ask me to be your wife."She mumbled, and I chuckled.

"What made you think that way? I was looking for the perfect time and could no longer wait. I wanted this to be perfect." I answered.

"This is perfect, Jack." She replied with a beautiful smile before she tiptoed and kissed me on the lips.

An intense wave of affection, connection, and excitement for our future together filled my heart. It felt like my heart couldn’t contain all the love I was feeling at this moment. A rush of anticipation for everything ahead, planning our life together, building dreams, and creating a shared story. I couldn’t wait to begin forever with the woman I love.
