"I'm fucking relieved that Ryder has finally managed to pin down Coby and I'm still hopeful that that twisted bitch Hailey will turn up but from the moment that we left the pack house I've had a sinking feeling in my stomach and that's never a good sign.

While growing up and during training to become an Alpha one of the key things that my dad taught me was to always listen to my instinct and to be aware of my surroundings and fuck if that's all I'm doing right now.

"What's up, brother?" Liam comes to walk beside me as we continue through the forest and towards the underground tunnel that my warriors found.

"I don't know but I've got a shit feeling deep inside my gut," He narrows his eyes but quickly changes his whole attitude once what I have said actually sinks in. I may not have been Alpha for long nor him my Beta but we've been best friends since we were toddlers and we know each other inside out.

We always know that when one of us says something like this that shit is about to go down. Liam has been brought up to be trained very similarly to me, as Beta his position is right under mine so he's learned a lot of the stuff that I have.

"Any ideas?" He wants all the information he can get to be alert but I can't help him.

"I haven't got a fucking clue but I've had it since we got in the SUVs and it just seems to be getting worse."

He gives me a nod while I can see he's trying to think things over in his head. "Ok we'll we will stay alert and I'll let Jack and Ashley know, I'm right behind you Cal, we all are!"

I don't doubt him for a second I don't doubt any of my men but we have a crap load on our plates right now and I just pray that this is one of those times where my gut is wrong, it's rare but it does happen.

"Alpha there's movement over the far side of the forest and it isn't any of our men!" Cole's link bellows out in my head. He's one of my top warriors, he recently made it into the top ten, he's hard-working in training and loyal to a fault, and I'm confident that he will go far.

"Everyone stay hidden and stay alert!" I bellow out my command to all of my pack members before closing the links and focusing on what's in front of me. I can see Jack and Ashley a few feet away from me in the middle of a herd of my warriors so I know they are safe.

"Fuck!" Liam angrily whispers out beside me as he rams his way through the warriors that are covering me so that he can stay by my side. I give him an amused look but I don't get any time to reply as Jack suddenly bellows through my head.

"Cal, Cole just linked me... someone has just gone inside the tunnel!"

"Do you know who it is yet?" The link stays silent for longer than I would like but then I hear cursing coming from Jack and my senses go wild.

"Cal it's Alpha, Ashton!" Oh hell no!

The anger that instantly fills my body is fucking insane, I'm shaking like a shitting dog and ready to tear people apart. Colton is growling like fuck and banging the shit out of my head wanting out but I use all I have to keep him in.

"Let me out, I'll tear that prick apart!" His growling gets louder as I feel him try to force my body to shift.

"You will get your time Colton but you have to calm your fucking ass down. You're not helping me right now and it's too early to do anything. We need to bide our time."

Thankfully he listens to me and takes control of himself but not before he makes sure that I'm fully aware of his unhappiness at doing it. If I had my way I'd let him out this very second but the sensible side to me, the Alpha in me has to do the right thing, and right now that means holding out a little longer at least.

"Alpha Ashton has just gone into the tunnel," I whisper to Liam and watch as he follows me in instantly losing his shit but holding himself and Jonah his wolf back.

"What the fuck is he doing here?" He controls his anger pretty quickly but his whisper is full of venom.

"I don't know but maybe he's more involved than we first thought, more involved than just the whole buying Kelly situation."

"And maybe he's the reason for your weird gut sense all the way here."

"I honestly hope it is but I doubt it, when has anything ever been that easy?"

"I never said it would be easy. Think about it Cal if he's here then I doubt it's just for a cup of coffee and a muffin,"

"Fuck your right, if he's here then he's involved in something. Fucking gut instinct strikes again!" Liam lets out a strained laugh while he rubs his hand down his face.

"Fucking gut instincts, don't get me wrong they are great for giving us a heads up but fuck if they don't always lead to disaster." He's not fucking wrong.

“Cole talk to me.” The minutes are dragging by and my patience is thinning… quickly.

"No new updates yet Alpha." fuck!

"Have you got a clear view of the entrance to the tunnel Cole?"

"Yes, Alpha." I quickly close the link before opening a new one with Jack, Ashley, Liam, and Ryder

"Guys head over to Cole's position, he's got a clear view of the entrance to the tunnel."

I close the link and look up to see Jack and Ashley staying down low but moving toward Cole while Liam and I do the same. Four of my top warriors cover our sides and back while we move quietly but quickly.

"Alpha there's movement in the trees in the same direction where Alpha Ashton came from." Cole's words hit me the moment I reach him and I'm glad I made the decision to move over here. The guys start whispering amongst themselves but I hush them down when I hear a noise coming from the doorway to the tunnel. We all keep low and use our wolf hearing to pick up everything that we can.

I curse under my breath when Alpha Ashton walks out with none other than fucking Coby right behind him. "Fucking traitor!" Cole growls out while Ashley lets out a low growl before I hush them down again.

Both Alpha Ashton and Coby walk up the few steps that are outside the tunnel before stopping and taking their time to look around the forest. I don't think they know that any of us are here but the way they are carefully checking out their surroundings gives me a reason to believe that they are about to do something.

Once they are satisfied that no one is around they head around the side of the tunnel furthest away from us and start walking into the forest. Once they are out of sight I feel all the men around me letting out breaths and I find myself joining them.

"What's your call Alpha?" Liam is practically bouncing on his feet and I know he's more than ready to go after them but still, something is holding me back. Before I can say a word noise from across the forest fills our ears and we all immediately quiet back down.

Moments later Alpha Ashton's face appears out of the forest, he looks like he's pulling something behind him and the moment that he comes into my full view and I manage to see what's behind him my fucking heart stops.

I'm going to fucking kill him!
