Chapter 1098 - 1106: Does Your Wound Not Hurt Anymore?
"Just kidding."
Said Shi Aoju as he walked over to Su Jiuyi. Originally, he was holding a cigarette, but after a few steps, he thought of something and put it out.
Su Jiuyi pouted. Was she too easy to trick? Had he gotten addicted to deceiving her? Previously, when she was helping him wash his car, he said that if she didn’t clean the car within the set time, her salary would be docked. While washing, her clothes got wet and he told her to go change, again with a time limit, and still, her salary would be docked. With her salary being docked like this, how long would it take her to save enough money to open a dessert shop?
Su Jiuyi hadn’t realized that for a part-timer like her, wanting to use her savings to open a dessert shop was pure fantasy. Even if she saved a hundred thousand a year, it would take at least twenty years to open a halfway decent dessert shop.
Shi Aoju sat down in front of her. Seeing her expression, he couldn’t help but reach out and ruffle her hair. A slight smile played at the corner of his mouth, his deep eyes filled with affection.
"Young Master Jue." The little woman, who had just been looking innocent, now rested her chin in her hands and looked at him with a smile. "Since you don’t plan to dock my salary, have you considered giving me a raise?"
"What do you think?" Shi Aoju used his slender fingers to brush aside the hair on her forehead. His voice was slightly low, but it gave the impression that he was in a very good mood.
"I think you should." Su Jiuyi said seriously, "Now that we’re together, as your girlfriend, I should get some sort of compensation. Otherwise, who would be willing?"
"Oh?" Shi Aoju raised an eyebrow. "So, you’re saying if I don’t give you a raise, you wouldn’t want to be my girlfriend?"
As he spoke, he moved his hand from her forehead, using his distinct fingers to gently lift her chin, looking straight into her eyes.
"How could I dare?" Su Jiuyi said and suddenly burst into laughter. Just as Shi Aoju was feeling somewhat confused, she grabbed his hand. As he was wearing a shirt, Su Jiuyi easily rolled up his sleeve, revealing a patch of bronze skin on his arm.
Su Jiuyi usually appeared obedient in front of Shi Aoju. Although she sometimes would play little tricks, she wasn’t considered manipulative. Therefore, Shi Aoju hadn’t anticipated that her request for a raise was a ploy to check if he was injured.
"It’s bruised!" Su Jiuyi noticed the bruise on his arm immediately, about the size of a palm.
She lightly touched it and, fearing she would hurt him, quickly withdrew her hand. She frowned, her voice lowered, "I told you you were hurt, but you said you were fine."
Shi Aoju calmly rolled down his sleeve and said mildly, "It’s just a scratch, nothing serious."
"It’s swollen, and you say it’s nothing serious!" Su Jiuyi hadn’t expected her reaction to be so intense, maybe because she was too emotional. The wound on her chest started to throb again, but she suppressed it to prevent Shi Aoju from noticing.
Shi Aoju looked at her and slightly frowned, asking, "Does your wound not hurt anymore?"
Clearly, despite Su Jiuyi’s efforts to hide it, she couldn’t escape his gaze.
"It doesn’t hurt anymore," Su Jiuyi said. "But your injury must hurt a lot." Saying this, she turned around, took out the medicine box from the wardrobe, planning to treat his arm wound.
