Chapter 993: Fraternal Twins

Gu Qibao frowned and shook her head, "It seems like there’s no feeling yet, oh, don’t keep asking me all the time, you’re making me nervous."

Mingjue, the pregnancy coach and nurse all couldn’t help but smile, comforting the couple, "Third young master, young mistress, don’t rush. It will take at least ten more minutes since you just drank the water."

The more they said not to rush, the more nervous Gu Qibao became. After ten minutes, she exclaimed, "I think I’m ready."

Di Mingjue was very excited and carefully helped her lie down on the bed, lifted her clothes, and the pregnancy coach began the ultrasound.

"How come there are two?" Di Mingjue asked anxiously.

Gu Qibao was very anxious too, feeling her palms beginning to sweat.

"Congratulations," the pregnancy coach beamed with joy, "It’s twins."

Hearing this definitive answer, Di Mingjue was suddenly overwhelmed with surprise.

Gu Qibao was almost moved to tears, twins!

How wonderful!

The couple wasn’t done celebrating when they heard the pregnancy coach say, "There are two gestational sacs, they are fraternal twins."

Gu Qibao and Di Mingjue were somewhat perplexed. Gu Qibao quickly asked, "What’s the difference?"

The pregnancy coach kindly explained to them, "Identical twins occur when a single fertilized egg splits into two or more separate embryo cells during division. So, they share a high degree of genetic similarity and are usually the same sex, like two girls or two boys.

"Fraternal twins occur when two separate follicles release or are fertilized successively by mature eggs. Because the embryos come from different sperm and eggs, their genetic traits, appearance, and even gender can differ, and they might even be mixed twins, a boy and a girl."

Gu Qibao’s eyes widened, mixed twins!

That means a son and a daughter?

Wow, isn’t that trendy?

The surprise was so sudden, truly catching the couple off guard.

The pair looked at each other, unsure of what to say.

But Gu Qibao’s eyes moistened slightly, and for some reason, she felt an urge to cry, probably from the overwhelming emotion.
