Shen Yilan subtly withdrew her foot, feigned shock on her face, but inside she sneered coldly, looking forward to seeing Qibao fall on her face.

Disgust surged within Qibao. She turned away and said indifferently, "Husband, let’s go back."

She didn’t want to make a scene at the event, especially with so many officials around, including Dan Youguo.

For two women to quarrel over such matters would be embarrassing, truly humiliating for Mingjue. At this moment, she didn’t want to argue or say too much.

Di Mingchen was taken aback. Close? When had he been close to Gu Qibao? He wasn’t aware of it.

Before he could speak, Shen Yilan declared, "You like her."

Di Mingchen found it amusing and couldn’t help but retort, "You know I like her?"

Shen Yilan’s eyes brightened, her heart leaping at the thought. This man wasn’t of low military rank, and he could potentially be a valuable ally.

"If you like her, I can help you," Shen Yilan offered brazenly.

Di Mingchen sneered and continued, "And how would you help me?"

"Let’s work together," Shen Yilan whispered. "How about splitting them up?"

As she spoke, she looked up to gauge Di Mingchen’s reaction, only to see his face filled with scorn.
