Chapter 816: You Actually Suspect Me!
Chapter 816: You Actually Suspect Me!
Gu Qibao took the cup of water, didn’t hurry to drink it, but hastily smiled and explained, "Husband, don’t misunderstand, it’s not really that bad actually, it’s probably just that I’ve been having stomach issues these past few days."
"It’s nothing," Di Mingjue calmly said, "Next time if it tastes bad, just tell me straight. Don’t continue eating it, and certainly don’t pretend it’s delicious when it’s not. We’re husband and wife; there’s no need for such pretense."
Gu Qibao, feeling somewhat embarrassed, lowered her eyelids, took a sip of water, tilted back her head, and made gurgling sounds in her throat before spitting the water into the sink like a goldfish spurting water.
Only then did she turn to Di Mingjue and say, "Aww, but this is your hard work, not eating it would insult you."
Di Mingjue looked at her, stayed silent for two seconds, then reached out to tidy the messy hair by her ear, chiding, "Silly girl."
Since the breakfast got thrown up, the kitchen was too messy to even look at; Di Mingjue simply took Gu Qibao out for breakfast instead, which coincided nicely with going to school afterward.
Because of the awkward breakfast incident, Gu Qibao kept teasing Di Mingjue all the way, singing and telling jokes, finally managing to make him laugh.
Seated in the breakfast shop, Di Mingjue watched her enthusiastic face and thought, maybe he had overthought things; his mood eased a bit as a result.
Gu Qibao obviously relished the breakfast here; Di Mingjue couldn’t help but feel a pang of heartache. She had even eaten breakfast that made her throw up; did that indicate she still loved him, that she cared about his feelings?
As they ate, Di Mingjue suddenly asked, "Baby, what’s your phone password?"
Gu Qibao, who was sipping her porridge, was startled and nearly spat it out. Damn, he actually asked her for her phone password!
"Uh," Gu Qibao scratched her head, pouting, "Why you asking that?"
"Can’t tell your husband?" Di Mingjue frowned.
"No, it’s not that," Gu Qibao smiled, but she felt apprehensive inside. She would never tell him her phone password was 123456!
Otherwise, he’d definitely mock her for being dumb!
"So what is it?" Di Mingjue insisted, looking at her.
Gu Qibao felt a bit guilty; she had always been silly in front of him, always the subject of his jokes about her low IQ.
She was momentarily too embarrassed to admit it, and glancing at him sideways, tried to sound composed, "Why are you suddenly asking about my phone password? You never look at my phone. Di Mingjue, you’re really acting strange today—first making breakfast, then wearing pink, and now asking for my phone password.
You’re not suspecting that there’s something in my phone that I shouldn’t have, are you?"
At this point, Gu Qibao suddenly widened her eyes as if she’d just realized something significant, "Di Mingjue, you suspect me!"
God damn, he actually suspected her?
Did he suspect her of cheating?
No no no, this isn’t called playing around, this should be called an affair, right?
Shit!
They were already married, and he dared to suspect her?
She had never doubted him, not once!
Damn, he actually doubted her!
This was an extreme lack of respect and a severe lack of trust—she loved him so much, yet he doubted her!
She had married him after all—how could he doubt her? What a serious insult that was to her?
Shouldn’t he trust her unconditionally?
Even if someone told him she had an affair, shouldn’t he say he believed her, believed that she loved him, believed that she would never betray him?
At least, that’s how she believed!
Gu Qibao looked at him, her eyes filled with immense shock, disbelief, and hurt, as if she had been punched hard by someone.
Di Mingjue was startled and instantly his eyebrows furrowed into a knot, blurting out instinctively, "No, I don’t suspect you."
