Chapter 755: This is My Personal Affair

Instantly filled with excitement, Dan Lingling kissed her mother’s face and cheered, "Thank you, mom!"

"Silly girl," her mother laughed, "Go fetch me the phone, I need to call your dad."

"Yes!" Dan Lingling immediately scurried off to fetch the phone.

Over here, Di Mingzhe and Di Xiaxia had just finished their heartwarming moment and sat down by the computer desk to switch on the computer and check the phone.

Sure enough, there were countless missed phone calls and numerous unread emails.

Di Mingzhe furrowed his brows and then turned off his computer and went downstairs.

Upon reaching the kitchen, he had the staff teach him how to cook lunch, and only after that did he call Di Xiaxia.

Di Xiaxia opened her eyes sleepily, seeing Di Mingzhe, she blinked and mumbled, "Big brother, you’re not going to work?"

Was he really not going to work all of a sudden?

Shouldn’t there be a lot of things left to hand over?

At the very least, he would have to submit a resignation, wouldn’t he?

However, he was the Vice President, could he just resign so easily?

"I have to, there are some matters that require my attention," Di Mingzhe replied indifferently, "Get up and have lunch later. If you want to go to school, I’ll have the security escort you. If not, you can wait for me at home."

Di Mingzhe kissed her before leaving.

He was leaving because there were some things which he had to address.

Being late to work, without giving prior notice, and ignoring phone calls and emails, was something that had never happened throughout his career.

The moment he appeared at the Golden Palace, it stirred up a frenzy of chatter, including Dan Youguo who was visibly discontented.

As soon as he arrived, Dan Youguo summoned him into his office.

As he sat on his office chair, Dan Youguo smiled warmly, "Mingzhe, why are you late today? You know there are many things awaiting your attention, please inform me next time."

Di Mingzhe pressed his lips together and calmly replied, "I am planning to get married, so, I will be busy for a while. I hope for your approval to take a month’s leave to prepare for the wedding."

"Getting married?" Dan Youguo’s brows shot up, and he nearly toppled from his chair.

After a moment of stunned silence, he burst into laughter to mask his embarrassment.

After his laughter subsided, he added, "At your age, it’s about time you consider settling down personally, but this news is a bit sudden. Have you chosen your partner yet? Do you remember what I once mentioned about Lingling, she..."

"She’s not your daughter." Di Mingzhe politely cut off Dan Youguo, "My wife and I have already received our marriage certificate, we have yet to hold the wedding ceremony though."

With this revelation, Dan Youguo was utterly flabbergasted. It took him quite some time to regain his composure.

He was now unable to laugh, so he dryly asked, "Why didn’t you mention anything about getting married?"

"It’s my private business," Di Mingzhe answered, "And my wife’s records are clean, there was no need to report beforehand."

Dan Youguo stared at Di Mingzhe, he felt a rage but didn’t know what to say.

After a moment’s silence, he said, "Marriage is a joyous occasion, and preparations should be made slowly. But the country needs you, so it’s impossible to grant you a month’s leave for wedding preparations. You should attend work as usual, let your subordinates handle the wedding preparations. Once you’ve set a date, we will grant you an appropriate amount of wedding leave."

"Alright," Di Mingzhe nodded, standing up, "Then I will take my leave."

Just as he was about to leave, Dan Youguo stopped him, rising from his seat and walking over.
