Love You for the Rest of My Life

Chapter 629 - 630: Why Are You Crying Like This

Chapter 629 - 630: Why Are You Crying Like This

But, she was unsure.

And because she was unsure, she dare not move forward.

Di Xiaxia turned her head, unable to fully hide the tears welling up in her eyes. Simmering anger mixed with humiliation was evident as she glared at him, "Who do you think you are?"

The atmosphere instantly grew awkward.

Di Mingzhe’s dark eyebrows furrowed together. At sight of her condition, his heart ached, yet her words began to infuriate him.

"I’m your older brother." He suppressed the anger in his heart, maintaining composure on his face. He reminded himself she didn’t like it when he got angry or unpredictably moody, thus he couldn’t vent his anger on her.

As Di Mingzhe spoke, he tried to snatch the beer bottle from Di Xiaxia’s hand. After taking a deep breath, he lowered his voice, "Stop drinking, just go home with me."

Di Xiaxia, however, held onto the bottle, her eyes filled with defiance as she stared at him, as if trying to pierce a hole in his face. After a pause, she responded, "What’s it to you?"

With that, she yanked the bottle back, the force causing some beer to spill out onto Di Mingzhe’s hand and body.

Gu Qibao was instantly stunned. Damn, Sister Xiaxia was so badass! She had just told Di Mingzhe to mind his own business!

What was to follow, a beat down? Gu Qibao was a little worried.

As expected, Di Mingzhe’s face instantly darkened and his tone became chilly, "How are you talking, Di Xiaxia?"

Di Xiaxia retorted, "I’m speaking exactly how I want. If you’re unhappy, then leave. No one invited you here."

Scared, Gu Qibao anxiously tightened her grip on Nangong Ran’s hand, "Oh my God, Ranran, my heart’s racing! Should we step in?"

"Don’t worry," Nangong Ran patted her hand, "Let’s just watch for now."

Being publicly slapped down, words could not describe the expression on Di Mingzhe’s face. Gu Qibao felt she was about to kneel before Di Xiaxia.

Gu Qibao’s heart pounded with fear as she glued her eyes unto Di Mingzhe, afraid that he would snap at any moment.

But, he didn’t. Though his face had turned horribly grim, he ultimately didn’t explode with anger. After a moment of silence, his suppressed voice came out low and hoarse, "Di Xiaxia, can you quit playing around."

Di Xiaxia completely ignored him, just turning to Di Jinxuan who seemed to have been frightened, "Jinxuan, are you coming or not?"

Startled, Di Jinxuan quickly responded, "Sista, that’s enough. You’ve already had too much tonight. You can’t drink anymore. You should go home with big brother, listen to what he has to say."

"He has nothing worthwhile to say," Di Xiaxia stubbornly wiped away a tear, feeling utterly wronged inside.

"What did you say?" Di Mingzhe shot a cold look at Di Jinxuan.

Before Di Jinxuan could reply, Di Xiaxia suddenly stood up and declared, "There’s nothing left to be said. I want to go home. Di Mingzhe, carry me home!"

In the end, she couldn’t be too defiant because this man was too arrogant.

But she was incredibly angry and wronged. Even if he truly didn’t care about her anymore, she’d be stubborn one last time, to hurt him once more and force an answer: either stay together, or leave.

Caught off guard, Di Mingzhe seemed to freeze in place.

Di Xiaxia glared at him. Unable to hold them back any longer, her tears willingly flowed down her face as she asked him, "Are you carrying me or not?"

Di Mingzhe’s heart stung with pity. He quickly slung her sideways into a cradle within his arms, eyeing her tear-streaked face. He managed to utter one word, "Yes."

Though he couldn’t understand why she was crying so much.
